Good location, friendly staff. Very beautiful rooms: stone walls with mosaics, wooden ceiling, Turkish lamps. Delicious breakfasts. The only caveat: the doors of the rooms are ordinary interior wooden doors, and they slam very hard, so there is a high probability of waking up at 5 a.m. when the neighbors get up for a balloon tour.
I read reviews about the sweetest friendly staff. You know, I didn't notice anything like that. There were just "smooth" men at the reception, without any special honors to the customers. The aunt who cooks breakfast on the terrace, generally with a poker face. She didn't even say hello.
The breakfasts are terrible. In fact, an omelet can only be eaten. Otherwise, it is quite sad - a couple of types of cheese, rolls (bread), plastic tomatoes, a disgusting-looking sausage (which was not in a hurry to report and there were always two orphan pieces), something hot under the lid (what exactly could not be found out, by 9 a.m. it was already empty and not replenished, although breakfasts here until 11:00).
We had a suite with a mountain view. From the first floor)) Funny. Although there were still a lot of construction sites/abandoned sheds/garbage cans before the mountains.
A 1L bottle of water is given only upon arrival. Then for the money.
The room is supposedly antique. But of the antiquities, there is only a carved cabinet and junk furniture of different styles. There are a lot of heavy textiles that have not been washed for decades (bedspreads, carpets, curtains).
There are several lamps around the perimeter of the room (mosaic, oriental), most of which are not working. In general, the lighting is like in a cave.
The bathroom stinks terribly of mold, absolutely everything is kept on snot.
The rooms (bathroom and bedroom) are huge. But it's not cozy at all. Gloomy, mothballed, dusty.
But! In fairness, I would like to note that in Goreme (and we walked, rode around the area) 90% of the hotels are of such a sad format.
And I didn't like the city either. There's nothing to do, nowhere to go. The earth is scorched by the sun, the grass is dry to the chest, there are almost no greenery/trees, continuous construction sites, debris and wastelands. In fact, there is one street for walking (where there are restrooms). One day for the location is more than enough to fly on balloons.
You say, "what about the views, the mountains?" Yes, to give away such money and suffer with transfers and flights .., it's better to go to the Crimea. There are VIEWS there! There are MOUNTAINS over there!
By the way, I also do not recommend spending money on local excursions (all these green, red tours). You will be shown a couple of viewpoints, caves, rocks, rocks again and will be taken for a ride through scam tastings and shops. While driving from point to point, they will tell you information about the city from Wikipedia. All.
Wonderful hotel, delicious breakfasts. The location is great, everything is nearby. The hotel staff will always help, they will answer any questions!!!The rooms are spacious and beautiful.
