Good afternoon. I visited Prometheus Cave, near Kutaisi, Georgia. I recommend you to visit. It is very beautiful, with large halls and impressive natural formations. The cave tour was in Russian. The trip was organized by Argotur company in Batumi at 48 Gorgiladze St.
I recommend you to visit, it is spacious, chic, a long and very photogenic route for about an hour. You can reach it on your own only on foot from Tskaltubo or by taxi/rented car. When traveling by taxi, also keep in mind that you will either have to negotiate with the taxi about waiting, or walk several kilometers before the app can "catch" a car for you. The N 42 bus marked on the map doesn't actually go here, or maybe it goes a couple of times a day. Anyway, he wasn't here in March.
A beautifully and conveniently organized space. Emotions are overwhelming! An interesting talking guide. Spectacular light shows. Simply amazing creations of nature! We were thrilled. I recommend the tour.
The power and beauty of stalactites, stalagmites, stalagmites is amazing. The cave is convenient to visit, but I didn't like the organization. Groups of 70 people and very boring information from the guide. It's good that there is information in Yandex.
A must-visit! We've been to caves in different countries, and this one is one of the biggest! The tour lasts an hour in Russian and English, and costs GEL 25 per person. Also, after paying an additional GEL 20 at the checkout, take a ride on a large boat through the flooded part of the cave (3-5 minutes). The tracks are well equipped, beautiful lighting and music.
It was the first time we were in a cave. There are a lot of impressions, beauty, the height of the arches, the size of the halls! The organization of the interior space is amazing, a lot of work has been done to prepare the cave for excursions, paved paths, steps, railings - everything is great, I really liked it!
I recommend it!
Everything is well-maintained and beautifully decorated, both outside and inside. There is a backlight in the halls of the cave, in several halls it changes along with the music.
This place is worth a visit
From Batumi, head towards Tskaltubo. Leave early. So, a very meaningful journey awaits you. You will see a lot of interesting things along the way!
But, the most important thing is ahead of you. Arriving in Tskaltubo, turn towards the cave. You buy tickets, wait 15 minutes, and the guide invites you...You are starting the most fabulous journey of your life. How fairy tales are told, not to describe with a pen, not to say a word! If you will ever visit the beauty of Georgia, do everything you can to definitely visit this luxurious, amazing and fabulous cave!
My family and I visited Prometheus Cave and were generally satisfied. The cave is beautiful and impressive in its size and internal structure. The only drawback is that the excursions gather too large groups, and because of this, the walk lasts a long time and can be boring. But the place itself is worth a visit, especially if you have not been to such caves before. Everything is safe and comfortable inside, and both children and adults liked it.
The cave impresses with its size, the extraordinary beauty of the halls, skillfully emphasized by lighting, and a long and conveniently paved pedestrian path. Surprisingly, it is warm inside, always +14 - whereas usually in caves it is slightly above zero. A walk through the cave as part of an organized group with a guide according to the schedule, I had to wait a little for the beginning. The group was small, about 15 people, the guide tells very briefly in English and Russian (possibly in Georgian, depending on the group). At the end of the route, there is a beautiful light and music show in the Prometheus Hall. Unfortunately, it was not possible to take a boat ride on the underground river - something was being repaired on the day of the visit, and the service was not available.
The visit is only as part of a group, which is logical in terms of security. There is an opportunity to walk away from the main stream and look at everything calmly, but there is something to see. The halls are very large, the lighting is beautiful, and the route is laid out. Impressive
This is really a Cave! It will capture and surprise you with its scale. The first steps are "well, nothing special," and then you get excited. The lighting was very nicely organized and the light show at the end is a pleasant point. Org points - there are 2 types of tickets with a boat tour along the underground river and without a boat, where you walk back 300m outside the cave. Seasoned tourists recommended not to take a ticket with a boat because you will drive half the way in the dark and miss a lot. I don't know if this is true, but I really liked it without a boat. Besides, the ticket is much cheaper. It's cool and very humid inside - keep in mind, take a jacket. There are many ascents and descents of stairs. The pace seemed to me quite high, I would like to look around more stops. You will spend 40 minutes on your feet. Photos do not convey beauty and scale at all.
It's great. The tour is conducted in English and Russian. It is possible with small children. Near the cave there are many souvenir shops and tents with natural juices that are made with you. Pomegranate is very tasty. A glass of 10 GEL.
Of the advantages: 1 beautiful last room in the cave and bought spices after the tour. All
It is worth starting with the safety of visitors, neither helmets nor vests were given. You just go the whole tour in a very large group and that's it, there are no fences either. The guide made 4-5 stops for me in 1 hour (that's how long we walked through the cave) (2 minutes). It is not clear what the tour consists of, but 25 GEL has been paid. That is, for this amount you are looking at yourself and in fact I have not received any sensible information. "Staloctite in the form of Georgia" - I remember these words of the guide, but I want something more interesting. I was very upset, again, there is something to compare it with. And at the end there is a minibus that should take you to the initial point, but since there are a lot of people (50 people) and there are few seats, and everyone did not fit in, we drove standing up in order not to waste time and not wait for the next one. It's expensive and I can't tell you anything about the cave, because they didn't give me the information. Well, there was and there was. All. Upset
A very beautiful and interesting cave! The work done is huge, the lighting is everywhere, you feel like in a fairy tale, and the music also matches! There was a group of 30 people, we came with a family of 4 people. The guide speaks Georgian, English and Russian! I recommend it!
I was on an excursion in this cave. I must say right away, the cave itself is 5 stars. Very beautiful lighting and musical accompaniment at the end of the tour.
But the tour and the speed with which you "fly through" the cave is disappointing. The guide speaks 3 languages Georgian, English and finally broken Russian. The information in our language is something like this: "There is a rock in front of you, and a hole in it", at least and primitive. The price is high, so you expect a good tour and a quiet sightseeing, but in reality it's the opposite.
There is something to compare it with. I have been to the New Athos Cave several times.
PS you can make an audio guide to somehow improve the tour
Great place, very impressive. The tours are in three languages, Russian, English and Georgian. Large parking lot. The views are unforgettable, the caves are very long and of great height
For me, who visited such a large cave for the first time, it was wow! This is the setting, the atmosphere, the volume of the cave and the incredible beauty of stalactites and stalagmites, which eventually take on bizarre shapes. I did not like the guide, who speaks Russian and English poorly and could not be heard at all because of the large number of people. But it didn't spoil the impression, you just have to go and admire 😍
It's hot and stuffy inside, but the views are amazing!
The girl guide is generally a darling 🤩
I really liked the cave, I love such places 😅
We walked for a long time and came, I want to shoot everything, everything is beautifully illuminated, amazing!!!
If you haven't been to the caves at all, it might be worth it. If you have been to caves in the Crimea, definitely not, you will be disappointed. The cave itself is much more modest and sooo commercialized. Of the claimed 1,600 meters of cave beauty, 10% of the actual beauty, the rest is a quick walk through completely empty tunnels. The "guide", rather an escort, quickly speaks into the microphone in Georgian, bad English and very bad Russian completely banal things - height, length, opening time. If you consider that there are about a hundred people in the group, it's not realistic to hear anything, even if you want to. The advertised light show is a hack. The lanterns have moved and shine not on the beautiful "icicles", but next to them. The music is played in the first and last hall, very loudly, not in any way cave-private). In short, this whole show is designed for the stream, there is no taker for the soul...
Go ahead, you won't regret it. Just study the history BEFORE, on your own. The guide will not help you learn anything interesting, as he mostly speaks Georgian and English. But it didn't spoil our impression.
Nicely. Unusual, worth a visit. And if you leave the car in the parking lot 10-20 meters before the main one, then you can buy a chic homemade cold wine from an uncle who charges for parking😉
For 25 GEL per person, you will receive a guided tour with a huge group of an indefinite number, you can not take pictures or look at it, because the trail is narrow and they adjust it from behind, the guide leads the tour in Russian and English, but does not really know either language. Also, now it's August 2024, they are missing a decent part of the route, but for some reason the cost does not change 🤷♀️
When you exit, you are waiting in the heat for a bus that will take you to the beginning of the route, but to get on the bus you need to go through the Afghan war and gladiatorial battles, all this in 30 degree heat.
Thank you for your attention, I really don't recommend it. The caves are beautiful, but the organization is disgusting.
The cave itself is very beautiful and large, on the day of the visit there was an opportunity to sail by boat after the walking part, this is available when a certain water level is also not a bad attraction. I didn't like that a lot of people were launching at once, everyone was walking in a stretched chain, the guide spoke English and Russian, but there was little information and it was hard to hear, as people added noise, especially when they were not speaking their language. The part where the music is playing and the backlight is changing is also interestingly done. Of course, natural beauty is beyond any competition, but some people tend to go beyond the fences, touch the growths, which probably spoils natural processes, but since the guide is far ahead, no one sees this and does not make comments((
An interesting cave with a well-equipped pedestrian and water part. When buying a ticket, keep in mind that if you take a ticket without a boat ride, you will not get into the water part of the cave during this visit. If you pay for the boat fare, you may not see the entire pedestrian area. The cave has convenient parking. Do not hesitate, the price was 1 GEL. It's not much. I recommend
If you are going on an excursion, I do not advise you to go with a large group, you can not hear anything. It is better to overpay and go with a group of 10 people. Rafting from the cave along the river is impressive, but do not count on a long walk, five minutes and you swim out of the cave. Rafting is not included in the standard ticket price, you must pay extra separately. The tours are repeated every 40 minutes.
An interesting place, unusual. If you come to Georgia, then you must visit.
It won't impress you to the core, but it's interesting. The boats do not cost 20 lari. But it's worth a ride. Put an end to it, so to speak...
An interesting place. The tour lasts for 40 minutes. Stunning stalactites of bizarre shapes. Lighting and music. Everything is very cool. I recommend you to visit.
A huge beautiful cave, there is a backlight with music - very impressive! The tour lasts for 40-50 minutes. The temperature is constant + 16, it's nice to come to your senses in the heat.
Entrance is 25 lari, drive "2 minutes" by boat inside the cave of 25 lari (I do not recommend the latter). The prices are absolutely not comparable to the feed. It's fun to look at the cave from the inside, but no more. Monetization on nothing is very striking. Tourists are launched in groups once every half hour. One guide, who monotonously broadcasts, though in 3 languages (Georgian, English, Russian), a group of about 80 people, did not count, but a lot. Everyone is walking in single file after each other. The concrete on the tracks was wet and slippery, and it was very easy to get injured. It's good that there are handrails. You can't go outside the track, you can only watch. There is lighting in different colors inside, music is not appropriate. Well, somewhere in the distance, the guide is mumbling, not paying attention to the fact that he can be heard by the first 10 people. There is no time to sleep when you have passed the cave in one direction - get out
A very beautiful place! It is not quite audible what the guide tells, but the group was bilingual (Russian and English), it was possible to hear all the information twice. Restaurants in the area are much more expensive, so they went to eat in Kutaisi (not far away). It's not cold inside the cave, even in shorts and a T-shirt, so don't be afraid of the temperature of 16 degrees))
The amazing beauty of the cave!!!)))
It's a pity that the guide leads the group very quickly, because I want to photograph every stalactite and stalagmite! We were especially impressed by the halls where music is playing!!!
Expensive. It's crowded. But all the same, the scale of the cave is worth going and evaluating, it really is a super cave. Of the advantages: it is suitable even for pensioners and children, there are no hellish ascents, only descents and a couple of small stairs up the route. The path is in one direction, a shuttle bus picks up at the exit - convenient. If you have extra money, I recommend taking a boat trip through the cave. It's short, just a few minutes, but very atmospheric.
One of the best caves I've ever been to. It is very beautiful, which surprised me with the length of 1.5 km, I have never been in such long ones before, basically everyone just went deep. There is also boating, but since they were on New Year's holidays (more precisely, winter time affects), the service was not provided, only in the warmer months. In general, I recommend you to visit.
An impressive cave, about 1 km long. If you are staying in Kutaisi, then you can get to it by taxi. In one trip, it is quite combined with a visit to Tskaltubo
The place is beautiful and memorable, we tried to keep up with the guide, but while we were taking pictures, we missed the story or she tells it very briefly. It would be better if they gave headphones and everyone listened to them as they moved from hall to hall.
It's very unusual and cool. The tour is in three languages. The ticket costs sane money. There is already a queue in the morning. The impressions are only positive.
Very beautiful. But the service is terrible and there is no excursion.
Responsible people for conducting the tour did it never occur to you that your guide could not be heard with the equipment that you give him. If the music buttons are turned on in each hall and coursework. Why not click in each hall in the same way as conducting an excursion so that everyone can hear. To run after the guides and try to hear what he will say, but it is very inconvenient.
A very beautiful cave with different views and excursions in 3 languages, everyone is gathered at a certain time and place from where all the beauty begins
It's a very cool and beautiful place. The species are cosmic. I recommend you to visit. It's not cold inside. We were in August. The guide conducted the tour in three languages, including Russian.
If you have not visited such places before, then you must visit them. Everyone liked it. It's cool in the cave, so it's better to take warmer things in summer
The cave itself is cool, but the organization is very lame. Firstly, the guide is not audible at all, and even if you stand next to her, she still does not speak intelligibly. It's better to just initially hand out headphones to everyone and turn on the audio guide. And the main disadvantage is that we bought a boat ride. As a result, we waited in the cave for 40 minutes until a boat came to pick us up. Insanely inconvenient
The cave is very huge, a must-visit. Large halls, some even musical ones. You can leave the cave on foot, or you can swim out along the underground river by boat. The boat ride is certainly very impressive. One of the disadvantages is a huge group. 70 people are being recruited. Naturally, few people listened and heard the guide.
A great place to visit!.
The very case when advertising, reality and the impressions received coincide by 100%
Culturally, cleanly. It's not cold. The tour takes about 45 minutes. Run on time. The guide broadcasts in Russian, English and Georgian. The visit costs 17.5 lari per person. If you want to swim for 10 minutes on a boat, you pay separately. At the end of the tour and the exit from the cave, the tourists are picked up by a bus and taken to the central office. There is a toilet, a cafe, souvenirs.... There is a minimuseum.
Parking for cars is paid 3 GEL.
I definitely recommend the object to visit.
Beautiful cave, decorated perfectly. The only negative is that they start huge "excursions" with a bunch of people, they don't stop much and it's noisy. In such a place I would like privacy. And it's really beautiful, a big cave
