We visited the Sataplia Nature Reserve with our family and were satisfied. The reserve is very beautiful, with interesting exhibits such as footprints and dinosaur figures. It's nice to walk here, especially in the gorgeous forest. Caves are a must-visit, especially with karst formations and dinosaur footprints. We especially liked the glass observation platform, although it may not be worth coming here just for the sake of it.
Very beautiful.
But until the end of May (approximately) the main attraction is closed: a museum with a skeleton and dinosaur tracks.
Hurtful.
A cave, a trail, dinosaur models, and an observation deck are open. The views are awesome.
A very pleasant park. The caves are beautifully illuminated and the paths are decorated. There are not very many dinosaurs themselves, but most of them are executed very well. The guide is Russian-speaking, the staff is friendly.
It was 08/09/2023-the viewing room and the exhibition were closed for reconstruction. Excursion only to the cave and to the dinosaur tracks for 17 lari.
We drove mainly because of the observation deck.
We were in May. The glass observation room was under repair. There are five dinosaur dummies. Dinosaur tracks. A cave, if you've ever seen large caves before, then this one won't impress you. The ticket costs 17lari. They sell only with an excursion, which in fact did not exist.
In fact, there is no point in visiting this place at all , half of everything is closed , the cave if there were already in Prometheus, then there is no point in looking, dinosaur tracks on the three and that's it, the observation deck is closed, the river is closed, the museum is closed there is no point in going at all

Parking is 3 GEL, you can take a walk only with an excursion. It costs 17 lari. The tour in Georgian and English was in 30 minutes, in Russian in an hour
The Sataplia Nature Reserve was founded in 1939, in 2010 it was seriously renovated and is now actively advertised. It is located in Imereti, about 7 kilometers northwest of Kutaisi.
Sataplia is the only place in the world where you can see both traces of predatory dinosaurs and herbivores (which are about 150 million years old), karst cave (the younger sister of Prometheus cave), Colchis forest (remember the Greek legends about Jason and the golden fleece?), as well as admire the surroundings of Kutaisi on an observation deck with a transparent floor.
⛰️ The cave is inferior to Prometheus only in size, but on the other hand, it did not have time to replace the multicolored backlight with a gentle white one.
The observation deck is inferior to the Okatse in height, but on the other hand, it offers an excellent view.
In addition, the reserve has a pavilion-museum for children with a mock-up and a dinosaur skeleton, trekking routes for hikers, a children's wooden town, a memorial to the founder of the reserve, an index clock for all regions of Georgia, and a gentrified territory, walking through which you realize that you are in the park, but do not forget that that it is a nature reserve.
Yes, by the way, it seems that there is also an extinct volcano crater and a primitive people's camp, but there are no information signs to them. It's strange!
And one more thing. The dinosaur path from the pavilion with footprints leading to the old observation deck in the rock is closed. It's a pity!
We were in the caves of Prometheus. The cave itself made an impression with its size and naturalness. I did not like the division of entrance prices for ours and non-ours, as well as the complete absence of a guide. All the work of the girl "guide" is the work of a guide, and running. After Prometheus, it is absolutely not necessary to go to Sataplia. The cave is small and the lighting is fabulous, but unnatural like in Prometheus. The observation deck is also on the three after visiting the Akatsi. Don't waste your time and money here.
A beautiful and interesting place - dinosaur tracks, an ancient forest, a karst cave and an observation deck. I did not like that after buying tickets I had to wait an hour for the guide, and the guide himself was more like an escort, with a minimum of useful information.
The expectations were about something more. The feeling of the flow of tourists. There was no Russian-speaking guide, only in English. Ticket prices for residents of Georgia and tourists from other countries are different, almost 5 times ((( well, do not return because of this. I recommend coming just before the opening: at least there will be few visitors. There is parking for a car. Fresh juices and other amenities are sold at the entrance.
Electric vehicles are needed to take visitors to the observation deck! The beauty of nature and caves cannot be described in words! It is necessary to see it!
