A large, interesting, beautiful and diverse area for walking.
There is also a cafe, an art gallery and souvenir shops.
The place seems to be imbued with some special spirit.
Object number one in Novi Sad. Admission is free. The fortress is on a hill among deciduous trees. Tourists mostly visit the upper part. But to get a full impression of the scale of the fortress (and it was the largest fortress in the Habsburg Empire and it is really gigantic), you need to go down below and walk along the walls in the direction of Petrovaradin. In the unvisited part, you can find more open passages deep into the walls - perfectly preserved corridors and dungeons. If you decide to go, stock up on flashlights. I had a cell phone flashlight and didn't dare go far alone. And yes - I visited in September in bad weather when I was the only tourist in this part of the building
It is a very beautiful place with several observation decks. There are many levels with many paths, bridges and greenery, cafes. Unfortunately, the clock tower was under restoration, we couldn't see it.
If you arrived in Novi Sad for 1 day by train, then a great route for a walk from the train station to the fortress. You will walk along the old beautiful streets, through the park, and then the bridge directly to the fortress. The ascent to the fortress is very beautiful and you will be able to take many beautiful photos along the way. There are stunning views of the city from above, you can buy souvenirs and have a snack.
I agree with the reviews of other visitors: the views from the fortress are really gorgeous. But be careful in especially intense heat, stock up on water (There are cafes on the territory of the fortress). And the fortress and the houses around it are a separate gingerbread mood!
There are very beautiful views both inside and outside the fortress, there are many places for photo shoots, which the locals also use. A very pleasant and unusual place. I definitely recommend you to visit.
A great place to relax. You can go for a walk, have dinner. There are souvenir shops. It's too bad that there is nothing for children to relax, such as a swing. I didn't find a public toilet.
Be sure to visit this place if you are in Novi Sad! Excellent view of the Danube, close to the center, can be reached on foot. If you are without a guide or an excursion, I recommend reading about the history of the fortress on the Internet!
A very interesting place. In itself, it gives rise to reflection. The views are wonderful, especially at sunset.
The museum is unusual and fascinating. You can get a free brochure in Russian and get full information about the fortress
A fairly large fortress. There are many places for beautiful photos. We visited it during the January holidays, the fortress was open because the place is very touristic. Parking inside is free, there is a good castle-style hotel on the territory of the fortress at a pleasant price, booked through booking. There are also good restaurants. I think one day is enough for this fortress
The best place to go from Novi Sad. Here you can walk for several hours and think about the past. You can eat and do something that is offered. But I was just walking myself. The views are gorgeous. The sunsets are gorgeous too.
