The shopping center is not bad for Cuba. There are restaurants, a coffee shop with good drinks. Shops, including those with rum at an average price. You can buy a coconut for $2. There is not much choice of clothes. But we must remember that this is Cuba and many people live below the poverty line here...
We came to see more out of curiosity. Of course, there's nothing much to buy. It seems like nothing like these T-shirts were from Che, made in Cuba. The composition is 100% cotton, but the fabric is thin. Somehow I didn't have any money with me, we came to the hotel and I was too lazy to go back. Women's bags are expensive- we have these 4 times cheaper for sure. There are different shops there, but basically the same thing- T-shirts, souvenirs, and there were sneakers - but at such prices that you can buy from us and not worry. There's also a cafe there, but we don't need it. A pond with turtles. There is a supermarket on the ground floor. There is already sadness and longing. It's too bad that the video won't load. Alcohol (I didn't look at the prices), soda, some kind of chocolate muesli and all at such prices that you'll get pumped. Somewhere there are the same cans, where the shelves are completely empty. There's nothing to do- well, go into the heat of lunch.
A good selection of souvenirs. The coffee shop is also good. By the way, there is a public beach behind the shopping center. But some shops don't know how they work, and I suspect they don't work at all. You can get there by bus.
For Varadero, this is a super shopping complex. But in fact, I remembered stores from the USSR, when one product occupied several rows or shelves. By the way, the prices are quite affordable for rum and so on ... The bus passes often, so you can easily get here from any hotel.
Compact shopping center. There are cafes and eateries, pizzerias. Alcohol and tobacco stores. Departments with clothes and souvenirs. There is also something like a supermarket, the choice is certainly not great. Rum, cider and champagne are mostly on the shelves. There is also some canned food and a section with dishes.
By Russian standards, it is not a shopping center, but a market. There is nothing in the grocery store except water and rum. Clothes and shoes are the cheapest, the design is rustic. You can't even buy basic things like a toothbrush, toothpaste, nail scissors, or shampoo.
An empty center. Only clothes, bags, souvenirs. Rum, cigars. On the second floor there are nice pebbles with lobster pizza. There is no change anywhere. On the ground floor, almost everywhere, except for souvenirs, you can pay with a mir card with a ruble account. There are turtles swimming in the pool. Cool. In the supermarket, the ball is rolling. Just coffee and water. Beer and basins of some kind. that's it.
The shopping center is large, clean, with a small number of different cafes. But as for the shops, the situation is the same as in the whole of Cuba - there is nothing to buy.
It's very decent for Cuba. The bar has very tasty cocktails. There are clothes, bags, a separate alcohol and cigar store, the price tag is average and higher, depends on the product. There is a place to eat. There are few people, very calm and even sleepy)
It's not a bad price for Cuba.
But...
the choice is meager, but the most necessary things are there. Souvenirs are better to buy at the market in Varadero. And rum and cigars are available here. Try the coffee in the center of the shopping center, it's not bad enough. But there must be local pesos
Previously, Ameca Plaza was almost the only large shopping center in Varadero. Now, in a competitive environment, it has lost its importance. Everything is also on the ground floor of a grocery supermarket, and the rest is mostly shops with upholstery and clothing. Cafes don't work on weekdays. For a change, you can take a tour bus for an hour.
A large shopping center by Varadero standards. There are Branded clothes, a good perfume store, as well as boutiques with inexpensive things, and there is also alcohol. You can pay with a Russian unionpay bank card.
An ordinary shopping complex, there is a food court, a swimming pool with turtles. A rum and cigar store (prices are average compared to Varadero and Havana).
The selection of goods is not large. The price tag is horse. Cuba is definitely not a country for shopping. But compared to other stores, it is still on the same level.
There are five shops and it is unclear at what time they are open at all.
It will be interesting to look into the supermarket, to recall the empty shops in Perestroika.
A small shopping center on site, you can find things made in Italy at an inexpensive price. The supermarket accepts card payments. If you pay in cash, the price tag is doubled)
It's good to walk to the store. A large selection of souvenirs at the market near the shopping center. You can change money on the market. It's not as profitable as in the city, but it's possible. You need a card to make purchases at the shopping center.
In the Market, which is on the 1st floor, they cheat with prices. The prices are the same , but at the checkout she counts according to others. She said that the prices are in euros, but she counts in dollars when paying with a card, as a result, instead of 2 euros, 3.5 dollars miraculously comes out. As it turns out, there is no answer. We did some small purchases, a couple of cans of lemonade, I didn't pay attention for the 1st time, we stopped on the way back, and now I saw that it didn't add up. There was no such thing in other stores, both on the price tags and punched.
The mall is not bad, the store has everything that is usually difficult to buy in Cuba, but only cards are accepted. Although it is possible in cash, but it is more expensive))) It's a strange policy. Nice security and location.
America Plaza, I really like it! When I'm in Cuba, I will definitely be there👍 Good prices in the store for coffee and rum. And there is something to see in boutiques. And what a beauty around him, you can take a walk !!! 😘
A small shopping center with a grocery store. In 2023, it was possible to pay only with a card. At the entrance to the grocery store, they also took currency in cash, but with an overpayment. The rest of the shops with souvenirs and clothes work both for cash and for cards. There is a paid toilet and a couple of places where you can have a snack.
Well, like our shopping centers, shops for tourists, cafes, and even a small pool for three turtles on the territory, you can go, especially since it is next to the Melia Las Amerikas hotel
A large store by Varadero standards, there are clothes, shoes, and groceries. Drinks, including alcoholic ones, at reasonable prices, there is a pizzeria nearby on the embankment.
There's nothing to catch there. We went to the store, took a jar of cold beer and water in the amount of $ 2.5. At the checkout we give $ 5, the cashier (by the way, they are very peculiar ladies there, as a selection)) he takes the money, puts it in the safe and says goodbye :)))
It turned out that it was necessary to pay with a card. Who doesn't have it, it will kindly help you solve this problem for $ 2.5)))) And they know our situation perfectly well. In general, there are no words. We laughed and left. There is a souvenir market nearby, where you can find something for gifts. Inexpensive. And the shopping center was not impressed. And the prices there are more expensive than in the same Varadero.
It is difficult for Russians , since it is difficult to get cash , and our payment systems are under sanctions , those who are ready to accept cash , the price is immediately above average . The choice of course leaves much to be desired, but there is everything you need - top souvenirs and necessary things. It was lucky that at least in the cigar store, they agreed to sell rum for cash, otherwise they would have left without souvenirs. But the price of the sample is 70% higher than it was possible to buy in Varadero.
A normal shopping mall. For Cuba - excellent. There are SIM cards, there is a post office, a man turns cigars and is happy to bargain) there is something out of clothes and rum too)
Some stores accept cards (not mir), some do not, prices vary, including depending on the forms of payment. There is a poorly functioning bank branch where you can withdraw money in pesos, but the exchange rate is bad
I expected more. In fact, there are very few shops. Or look for cheaper tours to Havana, do not buy into the promises of passage to the Capitol, or go shopping in Varadero. In fact, it is not worth paying attention to
There is nothing special in the store, you can buy a local SIM card, bags, a few gifts, and that's it, and there are no people. We lived nearby in a hotel, how can you not come there all the time siesta(
Sad Shopping Mall! In general, it does not differ much from the total mass of stores in Cuba! Of course, there is no assortment! It is better not to waste time on it, but to go to markets and small shops, it will be much more interesting and fruitful!
Supermarket, as we have in Russia in the 90s there is nothing really, there are several rows with the same cans in this supermarket there is simply nothing to buy. I don't know why they occupy such a huge area if all this can be placed on several shelves.
Exclusively cheap consumer goods are sold. And there are also several cafes where locals buy food and drinks for the beach. Melia hotels are extremely unlucky to have such a neighborhood.
