When they were just enrolled, I wrote: I don't know how high-quality the training is, but it's so beautiful inside and the building is huge, the child really liked it.
A month of training has passed and we really like it. There is a whatsapp group where they often notify about sketches and classes, and so on. At the beginning of the school year, the newcomers were given an extra week in order for the student to get used to school. And after 2 weeks, each of the parents was called to the school for an interview, discussed the qualities of the child and the further wishes of the child and the parent. We discussed in more detail the character of the child and how to further apply the character and qualities of the child in the educational process. I noticed how carefully they studied each child for a couple of weeks, and it's great how seriously they treat each child. The school has a first-aid post, an office, its own sewing studio where you can buy school uniforms, a huge dining room where cooks prepare fresh dishes themselves (they send a monthly ration to a group of uatsap) and a buffet where you can buy changes on time. During lessons, you can not use cell phones and for this reason they are handed over to the head teacher, and at the end of the lesson they are taken away. Children are not scolded and if there are any problems with the student, then notify the parent if the child did not attend school. During recess, children can play outside, or there is table tennis inside, or a piano on each floor. I really like it and have never seen such a thing that every day the children are met at the entrance by the very mudür Özgür Karahan (director of the secondary school). And müdür yardımcısı Funda Taşkıran (assistant director or head teacher) personally sends all the info for a week to the uatsap and you can call or write to her at any time, she will always answer. And of course, my son really likes the teacher of fen bilimleri Özlem Akıncıoğlu and she is also a class teacher, and a really cool, sweet, kind, understanding, sensitive and such a beautiful Turkish woman.
In my opinion, this college is not for foreigners! Unless, of course, you are going to live in Turkey in the future.
1) the learning process. In comparison with the "post-Soviet" education system, this system is very weak! The gap is 1.5 years for sure. I judge by the programs of 1st and 6th grade, since I have two children. And both were preparing for "domestic schools"
The first class is a kindergarten. The level of preparation for the school of our five-year plans. My daughter had a teacher who had very, very bad impressions of her. According to the reviews of those who left us late, many of the lessons were in the demo version on the projector. The teacher just sat there. And I did not make any effort to explain something to foreigners or to help them separately.
My son was in the 6th grade, he had a teacher, Painter - a very good, responsive lady, supported the child and highly appreciated the level of his training. They left because of a weak program.
2) Dissociation. She's not here. Concentration is important for a foreigner, it is important to hear and translate what is being said. It's difficult when children walk around the classroom for half of the lesson. And the first grade teacher twice forgot foreign children on the playground. She shouted that it was necessary to go, those who understood went, she did not look for the rest.
3) The language barrier. Is it clear?! Your child will spend all his time trying to translate the assignment to the topic that he probably passed a year ago at school. My children studied Turkish for six months before school, 3 times a week. The children are both excellent students. We were friends before b1 and this is nothing for school!
4) Finance. Tuition for two children is 15,000 dollars for two per year (do not repeat my mistakes, do not pay immediately) + 70,000 rubles for each set of textbooks + 20,000 rubles office for two + at least 30,000 for a basic set of uniforms x2 What do you think?! Expensive Turkish language courses.
5) The human factor. We left badly, although the reason for leaving (a weak program) was the teacher of the first grade, Neijla, who hid the textbooks from us for which we paid and wanted to take them away. And we didn't find the office) And the college management did not return the money to us for 4 months. They returned with a fight, with threats. It's good that we had a translator. They lied, shifted responsibility on each other, and generally very petty behavior. Reputation is more expensive.
And finally, do not pay in dollars, if you decide to go to college, no one will return your money to you in dollars))) and demand an installment plan, they have it!
