Complaint about the otorhinolaryngologist Op. Dr. Ahmet Kabay
I, Balkan Sofia, would like to express my dissatisfaction with the unprofessional and unethical behavior of the otorhinolaryngologist Op. Dr. Ahmet Kabay during my recent visit.
1. Unnecessary referral for a CT scan of the head:
When I went to the doctor, I asked for a referral for an X-ray, but despite this, he referred me for a computed tomography (CT) scan. To confirm the need for taking antibiotics. Due to my poor command of Turkish and the fact that I was with a small child who was in a hurry to leave the hospital, I did not immediately understand the difference. When I realized that I had been prescribed a CT scan instead of the usual X-ray, it was too late. As a result, I received excessive radiation exposure, which could have been avoided if the doctor had really taken into account my words and medical necessity. I had a severe headache all day after the procedure.
2. Prescribing an unreasonably strong antibiotic:
According to the CT scan results, I was diagnosed with classic left-sided sinusitis without complications. However, the doctor prescribed an antibiotic used in the treatment of pneumonia, which does not meet the standards for the treatment of sinusitis at this stage.
3. Unethical behavior on repeat visit:
When my husband asked for a more gentle antibiotic, Op. Dr. Ahmet Kabay reacted rudely, shouted and kicked him out of the office, saying that he would not change the appointment on the recommendation of another doctor. At the same time, the other doctor was my father, an experienced ENT specialist and the chief physician of a large network of private clinics in Kiev, Ukraine.
4. Lack of necessary equipment and self–serving appointments:
Later, I turned to another ENT who performed an endoscopic examination (video examination of hard-to-reach nasal cavities), an important and modern diagnostic procedure that did not turn out to be in the private hospital where Op. Dr. Ahmet Kabay accepts. Instead, he chose to send patients for an expensive CT scan, which indicates a financial interest. The new doctor confirmed my father's recommendations and identified the initial stage of the allergy, which was ignored by Op. Dr. Ahmet Kabay.
5. Disorganized work of the pediatric department:
In addition to problems with the ENT doctor, we had an unpleasant experience trying to get an appointment with a pediatrician. We waited for more than an hour, but the doctor did not come to the workplace. As a result, we canceled the appointment and went to another clinic.
Conclusion:
Based on the above, I do not recommend contacting Op. Dr. Ahmet Kabay, as he:
• prescribes unnecessary expensive procedures instead of simpler and more accessible diagnostic methods;
Prescribes unnecessarily strong antibiotics without real need;
• rude to patients and does not accept reasonable recommendations from other doctors;
• works in a clinic where there is no modern equipment, but there is a desire to make money from patients.
I ask you to consider my complaint and take action against this doctor.
I visited the local surgeon.
The service turned out to be quite good, there was an extra star for it. The reception doesn't speak English, but the guys in the international department do. Aziza is unreal! Very caring and Cool. Thanks to her
But the doctor is absolutely useless. Couldn't help with the underlying problem, prescribed medications that didn't help. I suffered for 2 weeks, then I changed my doctor and everything was resolved.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that with ikamet, or at least an application for ikamet, services are much cheaper
