This is not the most delicious boat in Adjara. A lot of dough, little cheese. There are more correct boats in Batumi. But in general, of course, it's not bad
It's not a good impression. The place is literally advertised, but it does not represent anything. Everything is on the shelves:
Food. The prices are too high. You will not get decent quality for the money you paid. If you are Russian-speaking or English-speaking, then it is not a fact that you will be understood. We ordered 5 khachapuri for a company of 7 people. Only two of the five khachapuri we ordered were brought. The others were not the same. It gave off a sediment, but we decided not to pay attention.
Place. We were put on the street because there were no seats for 7 people inside. If you get into retro in the rain and you get sat down on the street, leave. They have poorly equipped places for this. It will constantly drip on you and if you are non—smokers, then this does not displace Georgians - they will smoke with great pleasure under your nose, because the tables are close to each other.
Availability of items from the menu. Many dishes were not available. For example, we could not order khachapuri with ham, because they ran out of ham on Wednesday in the middle of the day (14:00)! It's funny, of course, but we went further. They didn't have any Georgian beer, which was also frustrating. And two types of dry wine were also not available. Surprisingly, it is as it is. We came for khachapuri and decided to try them. In general, read on.
And finally, the general condition after visiting this place. We came in two companies (3 and 4 people). After the Retro feast, everyone found themselves under a magnet to the bathroom. Apparently, their "retro" comes from the expiration dates of the dishes, because we were all poisoned and this was the last straw.
This is the impression of this place. He does not deserve his rating at all. Take activated charcoal with you if you decide to come here and some imodium (loperamide) if you decide to eat here.
A disgusting place with a disgusting chef. I strongly advise against it. Dishes made from rotten products are served. The cook never came out to us. He told us through the waiter that this is a normal smell of dishes. What is ska? Is he normal? Since when is rottenness normal?
On the first day I came and ordered Khinkali, delicious and inexpensive, cool Kazbegi beer, but when I came the next day and ordered khachapuri and kezzi champignons with cheese, I was disappointed, khachapuri internally filling is good, but the dough is just pita bread, tough, tasteless.
And about the quetzee with mushrooms, I'll just say it's tasteless.
The staff is good, the situation is normal, but there are better places as it turned out
By the way, there was no khinkali available on the second day.
On February 14, I wanted to give khachapuri in the Ajarian style in the form of a heart. I called in advance to find out if they cook these. They said they were cooking. I arrived in the morning, ordered a large one in the shape of a heart, and asked to wrap it with me. I went to the flower shop, when I returned I took the box and immediately jumped into a taxi without looking at what was inside. Upon arrival, I found what is in the photo. Sadly
We were in this wonderful place only yesterday. After reading the previous reviews, we were a little afraid that we would be dissatisfied. But local good friends recommended it, so let's go anyway. And, by the way, they were completely delighted. The staff was very friendly, they booked a table for us upon request, yes, they did not come right away, but as soon as we called, they came right away. And, by the way, there is a button on the table that the waiter arrives within a minute!! We were recommended good wine, offered to take salads while waiting for our huge khachapuri Titanic. Which, by the way, instead of 30 minutes, was cooked in a maximum of 15-20 minutes. And, oh yes, he was amazing!
Our recommendations for visiting!
I looked at the rating, it's a pity I didn't read the reviews. The prices do not correspond to the service in any way. You have to remind the waiters that not everything has been brought to you. The dishes are below average. They brought boiled khinkali and liquid kharcho, where there was one broth with a small piece of meat ... There is neither adjika nor satsebeli. Sour cream, ketchup and tkemali. I highly recommend it.
There is zero service
The vaunted khachapuri is cold, wildly salty and wildly fatty
The dough is delicious, there is no doubt about it
15% of the collection is also fat
There is Lagidze, this is the second plus
Otherwise, I'm sorry
The service is disgusting. I have been visiting this cafe for more than 10 years after my arrival in Batumi. What has become of him now is just darkness. AN HOUR AND A HALF!!! we waited until khachapuri was cooked. Before that, 20 minutes - until the menu was brought, I just had to demand it. The waitress mixed it up and brought one more khachapuri, pitifully asked to buy it back. And they're not even ashamed. There are 16 more tables that are on the street, as a result, neither the chefs nor the waiters have time to serve. I really don'T recommend Retro anymore.
There was a full boarding in the establishment,
The waiters completely ignore the customers who come.
I went up to the Teona waitress, asked if there were any seats, and she said no. She didn't say anything about waiting/queuing.
We stood waiting for the table to be vacated to occupy it.
When the table was empty, I asked if people were leaving because of it, and we took it. The Dato waiter came up and asked to vacate the table, because it was already occupied "in turn", after which he simply began to ignore us.
The waiters behave rudely, the place has turned from a friendly family cafe into a habalistic canteen.
Don't go!!! The cafe has gone terribly bad! We ordered a small khachapuri and 6 khinkali. We waited for more than an hour. And then it turned out that the waiter simply did not place our order. And he didn't even apologize, he swore at both us and the administrator. She couldn't offer any way out either. They left hungry and angry after spending 1.5 hours! This place is unjustified. There is no service and comfort, the price tag is average, there is no history in it anymore!
It is very expensive and not tasty!
We ordered khachapuri in Adjarian style, mushroom cream soup, 3 glasses of beer and 1 bottle of lemonade - it turned out to be 73 lari.
Khachapuri dough looks like pita bread.
I do not recommend it! 4 years ago it was super tasty, but now everything has become very bad (
Long service time. Attention is zero. An unreasonably high price for khachapuri. 15% for the service, while waiting for an order for 50 minutes is too much. Khachapuri is ordinary for 4. The wine is terrible. On 2.
We were there today...No, I don't recommend it, the wait is 40 minutes...just everything, and kharcho (a small portion) and Khachapurino, most importantly, there were Georgians sitting at the next table, who came much later and brought everything to them much earlier than to us ....and to me alone in general..waiting 1.5 hours
The cafe is famous exclusively for Khachapuri, going here to eat khinkali is at least stupid!
We have tried all kinds, it is very tasty!
The owner of the restaurant personally greets the guests and controls the quality!
Great place!
Khachapuri turned out to be burnt on the one hand, the dough is dry (it feels like they just brought cheese in a plate of bread). By the way, the dishes are all cut with knives (apparently all khachapuri are so dry that they are not even cut) and you can see black stripes on white plates. They were not very friendly, took the temperature dryly and sat down at the table. Other people came in after me and looked at their own place.
But I'll give it my due, the order was delivered quickly and calculated too.
Not what I expected, of course…
It is always crowded in the cafe, which means that this place is very popular. Delicious and varied dishes of local cuisine. I would like to especially mention khachapuri in Adjarian - very hearty and tasty.
Khachapuri took the last place in our rating here, although it was quite tolerable.
Lagiddze water is delicious, I recommend it.
The waiters are fast, which is rare in Batumi
Poor service, waiters do not pay any attention to the guests, minced meat with streaks in khinkali, long waiting time (khachapuri 30 minutes, khinkali 25, they forgot about coffee altogether) when boarding at 4 tables. I do not recommend it
The food seems delicious, but the whole impression was spoiled by the attitude of the staff, they do not fit, they ignore. The bill was brought, but there was no change! +15% to the account is unclear for what!
It's a creepy place, we went with our son, after reading the rave reviews. As a result, the grub was three, but the son was less lucky, they brought raw, partially unfrozen khinkali. I didn't have time to check, he ate one. I was very worried, it was okay. This order was included in the bill, I calculated the amount myself, paid only for tea and soup. A Georgian family was sitting next to him, arguing with the waiter, and this is probably another indicator of the level of this institution.
15% tip in the bill, for the usual, and somewhere even conniving service. I asked for tea, they didn't bring it, but they added it to the receipt. And then they just removed it from the receipt. But I wanted tea. Khachapuri is delicious. But it's just as delicious in many places. The first place where I decided to leave a review because I was a little disappointed.

We waited for a meal for 40 minutes, ordered a chicken kebab, but returned it - it seems that the chicken was cooked in oil. They don't know how to cook there themselves
The most terrible cafe we've ever been to. Prices are twice the average price tag, khachapuri is half-baked, half of the dishes are not on the menu, the service is long, not friendly.
