Not a bad hotel and the location is very convenient. on different sides, wherever you go, there are various attractions within walking distance. We lived in a new building - I liked it. Beautifying the territory is also cool. It would be worth working on the menu a little bit. You won't stay hungry anyway. But, as a person working in the restaurant business, it is important to work on quality. Anyone who knows will understand. Thank you for a nice pleasant stay!

Hello! We were at this hotel from August 21st to 30th. We arrived at 7.30, while everyone was taken to the hotels (ours was the last one) it was already 10. We were late for tomorrow, of course, but I foresaw this, so I had a snack with me. We got swimsuits, pareos. I brought a liter of delicious beer with me in my luggage.We took a snack and went to the beach)! The sea is warm and gentle. Of course, the people under the umbrellas turned out to be all busy, but we did not lose our heads - we took a sunbed and put it closer to the shade of the umbrella. We had a snack, celebrated the arrival). By 13 they returned for lunch, after which they settled in. The rooms are clean, cozy, yes, not the 5th check-in, yes, not the freshest floor covering, but still very cozy and clean. About cleaning - they didn't run away every day, about the request. The maid is on the floor almost all day, if you need something - a fresh towel, vacuuming, bathrobes - she will always respond. Thanks to Alina!). About food - well, not a restaurant, but a very good dining room. Everything is like in a ptoneme camp - delicious, homemade, who lacks salt, pepper, sharpness - salt, pepper, spices, sauces are on the table.. Portions are the master's own hand. No one went. And in general, if you know about hygiene and basic rules, then everyone will be healthy). I wash my hands with soap, we do not take or buy food on the beach, we open our mouths less when bathing, everything is elementary! There was a nice guy Leon at the reception, if there were any questions, he answered quickly and competently. I liked everything! And how can you not like it? Clean sea, stunning nature, everything else depends only on you!)) I'll come again!

We are resting in this hotel at the moment it is July 13, 2022. The only advantage of the hotel is its location to the iconic locations of the city. Everything else is completely rubbish. The territory of the hotel is practically non-existent. There is a through vent between the rooms in the bathroom. There is no fan in this place, and accordingly, what happens in the neighbors' bathroom, we hear and smell it...about nutrition, I can say that I have not seen the worst at all. Extremely meager, not tasty. There is nothing from fruits and dairy products. There are always queues for this handout. As a result, we stopped going there altogether and ate in cafes. The price of the hotel is unreasonably high!!! Don't go to this dump!!! I highly recommend the hotel and especially those traveling with children!!!!

I was on the May holidays of 2022, the only plus is fast Wi-Fi, I lived in building 2, which is considered better than the first, but I still did not understand what exactly is better.. the shower works so that there is no average, the water is either cold or boiling, there are many flaws, there is no drinking water on more than one floor. well, as for 3 meals a day, such as a buffet, this is generally a separate story: I am not a pretentious person at all, but even for me it was beyond my strength to eat these slops! any dish that you don't take is completely tasteless, no pepper, no salt, not to mention spices.. and this is despite the fact that the hotel is located in the Caucasus region! It's not even a dining room, I don't know what to call it.. most likely, the canteen is in a free medical dispensary for the sick and diabetics. There is an abandoned building right on the territory, the urns are only near a puddle called a pool.. in general, a spoiled vacation. I do not recommend it to anyone!!!

In this hotel (building 2, new) we stayed in August 2022 for 4 days after a vacation in Sukhum. The territory is almost as stated on their official website.Unfortunately, a huge abandoned building between the buildings is still traditional for Abkhazia. I liked the pool and the lobby of the first floor of the building - I only caught Wi-Fi there, although our room was also on the 1st floor. The room is normal, renovated, the bathroom was let down by the size - you take a shower almost wrapped in a curtain… The food was very disappointing, frankly tasteless… And it differs, let's say, from the video from their website… This opinion is not only ours, we communicated with other vacationers… There is always buckwheat and pasta, a lot of carrots, and a salad of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes was only 2 times, boiled beetroot with canned corn or a la "crab" - rice with elements of crab sticks - for that kind of money… There was meat, but more chicken offal… When I saw porridges and soups, I was delighted, I think well, here is a normal proper diet, but even the porridges were not delicious. For breakfast and dinner (when tea is served), only boiling water and milk are offered, at the request of cold water they offered from the tap… From the category of tea, only something like a biscuit on soda ... The conclusion is this: if you rest in your Homeland, then only without food. Simple and/ or dietary food does not mean tasteless, porridge is not a jelly made from cereals and ... It is more pleasant to eat in an ordinary average dining room.

Minuses:
I turn off the electricity when they want, sometimes there is no water in the morning, the refrigerator does not freeze at all, the TV due to stagnant light failures (I had to adjust constantly (fortunately they took an Apple TV). Let's get to the most interesting part) it is not enough for those who came 20-30 minutes later . There was no bet on food, so my wife and I didn't bother, but for many it is important.

We had a rest with children from July 1 to 11, 2021 at the Rodina Hotel in New Athos. In general, it's not bad, but there are many disadvantages:
- all the doors in the room (entrance, balcony, toilet) creak very much;
- very hard mattresses, springs dig into the sides, pillows are very thin and uncomfortable;
- the refrigerator was not working in the room;
- the food in the dining room is very monotonous, in general it is possible to eat, but for children, it seems to me, there is a lot of pepper and salt;
- the first days in the evening there was no hot water in the room;
- a car wash and an abandoned building next to the hotel spoil the impression;
- queues in the dining room (since the dining room of the first building was flooded after the hurricane, for some reason it went out of order, residents of the first building had to go to the dining room of the second building, which is not designed for such a number of people);
- the garbage was taken out every day, the bed linen was changed once, but I did not observe cleaning in the room, the sink in the toilet was dirty throughout the entire period of stay;
But of course there are advantages:
+ the nature around is just bursting with greenery, the air is clean, the sea is warm;
+ the road to the sea through the park with swans;
+ within walking distance from the hotel Novoafonskaya cave, waterfall, monastery, Stalin's cottage;
+ when leaving the hotel, the stadium is for outdoor enthusiasts;
I would also like to note the absence of ATMs. There is one near the hotel, in Sberbank, but it has not worked all the time, almost everywhere they accept only cash, they are not friends with terminals. There are a lot of abandoned buildings around, which spoils the whole picture.

We have been vacationing since August 24, 2022 in the second building. I'm giving you a well-deserved 5. We checked in immediately upon arrival, the room is excellent, the silence, the air, the waterfall is noisy. The room is comfortable, in dark colors, everything is there, a hairdryer too. The room was cleaned well. The pool is comfortable. It is also cleaned every morning. The food is good, everything is steamed, which was necessary. For Abkhazia, I think the hotel fully corresponds to the declared 3 stars, Price-Quality! And this is already progress! The staff are hard workers, everything is in its place, well done! Everyone knows their job. Administrators inform you immediately on all issues. It is not appropriate to compare the hotel with Turkey.

We were in Abkhazia for the first time and decided to choose the Rodina hotel, it's trash.
Plus, only that it is located in the center.
We had a rest in July 2021. Well, what can I say from the bad, the room is cleaned 1 time in 4 days and then they asked for it themselves, the food, well, it's generally a song, it's impossible to eat, no, I'm not finding fault, I'm serious, for all the time we stayed in the SUMMER SEASON, we were never given fruit, from the word at all. The vegetables for dinner were sliced tomatoes and that's it. The food itself is disgusting, sometimes in the porridge for breakfast they found either eyelashes, or someone's eyebrows, appetite immediately goodbye, I tell you all about the kitchen, the girls in the dining room clink right in front of you if you don't finish at least a little. And also keep in mind that in rainy times the kitchen is heated and out of 8 days of stay, we stayed at least 2 days without breakfast and were sent to the nearest cafe at OUR OWN expense. Well, in general, I do not know where we crossed the road to our tour operator, but I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. And by the way, the plus of this hotel is that there is a hospital right across the street)))) if you suddenly get poisoned, at least run not far. In general, it's a shame to spend such money and leave your vacation hungry and broken.

The hotel is very nice. Modern renovation, new furniture, clean linen, air conditioning, kettle, modern refrigerator. There is carpet on the floor. The hot water is not turned off. But sometimes the lights are turned off. The refrigerator is not for food supplies, but for a couple of bottles of water and fruit. The rooms have very large balconies, almost terraces. A sofa, a table can be used for company even in the rain. The food is dietary, monotonous. On the one hand, you will not stay hungry, on the other hand, it is not a pity to skip in favor of dinner in a cafe. The territory is not large, but there are gazebos in the WiFi area where you can sit and read or work. There are plenty of sun beds by the pool. During the ten days we were there, the pool was cleaned 1 time. Overall, I really liked it. This is probably one of the best options for Abkhazia.

We had a vacation in our Homeland in June 2022.
Pros:
great location
Private beach with free sun loungers and umbrellas
Availability of a heated swimming pool
Cons:
The first building has disgusting beds
The water pressure and the condition of the plumbers are both at 2 with a fat minus, while the staff does not react to this in order to eliminate it. They just take note.
In 9 days, the cleaner came to us 1 time and then, under the supervision of her husband, cleaned the whole room and changed the bed (after a request). Only garbage was thrown out on a daily basis.
They say that the 2nd building is more modern, new and there are no such problems there.

This year we stayed at this hotel. Advantages: price, close location to the sea and attractions. The food was average, I liked breakfast the most:omelet, porridge, cottage cheese (very tasty especially with condensed milk), boiled eggs, sausages, sausages (the cheapest), sausage and cheese (2 types each). Vegetables are not expensive, but they are diverse. There is no fruit at all. Drinks include black tea, green tea, 3in1 coffee, mors, jelly, cocoa.
Cons: periodically the lights were turned off at night, respectively, the battery stopped working. You wake up in the stuffy and dark. I was saving a flashlight on my phone. I have a small child, so I woke up at night. Those who sleep without waking up may not notice the blackout. There was no water on the day of arrival and the next day, no water at all. Then the situation stabilized, but before washing it was necessary to pass water for a long time.
The promised TV was connected only after 2 weeks of rest.
When contacting the reception, they are unlikely to help you. I asked for a room on the lower floor, so they put me on the highest one. That's where I dragged my 7-month-old son. Fortunately, the stroller can be left downstairs. And then I didn't know that there was an elevator in the 2nd building, and we rested in the 1st.
Room cleaning and linen change every 3 days, garbage was taken out every day.
Force majeure has not yet been ruled out. A tornado hit the Black Sea coast. Cypresses, which are higher than 9-storey buildings, fell down on the territory of the hotel!!! Our dining room is flooded, it's outdoors. Because of this, we were not fed breakfast in the morning, and for lunch we went to the dining room of the 2nd building, it is located indoors. We ate there for 5 days. The meal time was increased by 2 times, but there were still queues.
Well, no one has canceled the rotovirus. In my company, everyone who swam in the sea got sick. The pool has nothing to do with it. I've never felt so bad before (((.
The transfer to Sochey took the one that is offered on site. It is the cheapest and very comfortable, we were driving in the fourth in a Japanese-made passenger car.
In general, a good rest. But personally, I don't go to Abkhazia anymore.

Nice Hotel. All the staff are friendly, funny, and always come to the rescue. The rooms are small, the room has a kettle, refrigerator, plasma, these accessories, hairdryer, slippers, bathrobes, there is an ironing board with an iron in the corridor. Of course, the food was pumped up, but in principle you definitely won't stay hungry, but everything is modest!
It would be nice to put a coffee machine and a normal tea. They are allowed to bring their own wine. The pool is nice and clean, there are sun loungers. There is not enough music .

The hotel itself is not bad, friendly staff at the reception. The rooms are clean, but there are no slippers, one small towel, one large one, the hair dryer barely works (take your own if your hair is long). Balconies without tables, i.e. there are chairs to sit, but there are no tables at all (building 2) there is a table in building 1, in building 2 we have
One room had a view of the river (very cool and quiet), the other room had a view of the pool (there is a car wash and it is very noisy, garbage is also taken out early in the morning, it is also noisy).
The room was cleaned every day, I don't know if it was somehow divided between the staff, but my sister lived at the other end of the floor and she always asked to clean and replace the towel.
The dining room is a separate kind of art.
And so the hotel has a buffet, there is no menu, i.e. there was always a surprise.
Breakfast for five days was delicious once when there were pancakes. The rest of the breakfasts are not tasty at all.
Lunch soup or kharcho/borscht (without meat)
Buckwheat/rice or pasta (i.e. buckwheat or rice is every other day, pasta is always)
Chicken (the one that should have been in the soup) boiled ordinary chicken (sometimes they sprinkled carrots and herbs)

We were at the hotel in early July, we definitely won't come here anymore!Of the advantages, the hotel in the second building is clean, split works, the room was cleaned, at least the towels were changed, the garbage was taken out. There is a swimming pool on site, clean and warm, the children swam, there is a private beach, relatively nearby. That's where the advantages ended…The bed was broken in the room, my husband was constantly falling through, it's good that he was able to fix it himself, but there is no hope for the staff.I want to tell you about the dining room separately, it's just terrible!We try to go somewhere to relax in summer and autumn, so there is something to compare it with.This is the worst dining room we've ever had.There is nothing to eat at all, there have never been fruits or vegetables at all, except for their signature cabbage of different varieties, which it was impossible to eat!It was interesting to get to know their cook and ask who taught cooking to cook like that.., it's just disgusting, sometimes there weren't enough places, people stood and waited for the vacant places to drink bread and tea.So the local cuisine in the cafes was bypassed enough.Yes, the vouchers indicated a bathtub, it turned out that they had never had one at all!

The hotel is terrible, of course, the building is renovated, but the shower flows in the bathroom all the time, the toilet is shaking, there are no doors in the two-room room and the bedroom is passable, there is no drinking water in the hotel, the food is disgusting, everything is not enough, everything is tasteless, there are no vegetables and fruits, tea is not given for lunch, canned coffee is the cheapest instant, powdered milk, porridge on water. The dining room stinks, it is impossible to eat, there are not enough tables for everyone, we have to wait. Nearby there is an abandoned dilapidated building, another view from the balcony! And the highlight of all this horror is the self-service car wash, 24/7 cars are washed there, the compressor never turns off, it makes noise, it is impossible to sleep. The pool is shabby, so-so, you can swim, the sun beds near the pool are mostly torn. The beach is creepy, you can't enter the water, small pebbles turn into cobblestones and end with a breakwater, if you didn't break your legs, you were lucky. I don't advise anyone, a ruined vacation, money thrown away.

I came here for the first time and I will not come here again.
I was in the 1st building of the hotel.
Bed linen and towels were changed for the 3rd day of stay, the remaining 8 days were not changed. And that "fresh" linen is already stained with some kind of stains.
Room cleaning, together with garbage removal and toilet paper replacement, is carried out at best every other day.
Apparently, the workload of the hotel is the problem of visitors, not the hotel staff.
Apparently no one knows about the greasy and dirty faucet on the washbasin.
By the words "private beach" it is generally unclear what is meant, on the territory of which vacationers from many hotels, but fortunately there were enough places.
The food is also incomprehensible, for the military I will explain it this way - a little better than in the army. Fried fish for dinner, porridge in the morning. Once they "surprised" me with national dishes - I almost burped. Either everything is fresh, or over-salted or overdone.
And the coolest thing is wi-fi, which does not work from the word at all. If someone has to solve work issues, it's not your option, the Internet is poor.
You don't need a TV in the room unless you knowingly burn flash drives and other media with movies, cartoons and TV series.
Bottom line: this institution cannot be called a HOTEL. It looks more like a boarding house. And do not eat pizza, which is made on site, I decided to try it at the end of my vacation, as a result, I spent the whole way in the toilet of the train, train stations, airport and airplane.

The rooms are clean (cleaned every day), the pool is clean (transparent and no chlorine on the bottom), linen and towels are changed every three days.We lived in the second building:a hostel that does not interfere at all nearby and an abandoned unusual building, on the contrary, gives a zest.Yes, there is a car wash behind the fence, but sometimes you can also hear the sound of the units working, not loud.The food was completely satisfied.The only thing was that there were few vegetables and fruits.And they also don't give out disposable shower gels, shampoos and dental kits. Just a small tube of liquid soap.Many attractions are within walking distance (fortress, monastery, cell of St.Kananita, cave).Nature is a paradise, in general we liked it.

We had a rest in October 2021. The hotel is in a good location, everything is within walking distance, the room is cleaned daily, bathrobes and towels were changed regularly, the staff is friendly. If we go again, I will take it without food. The breakfasts were normal, the rest was for an amateur (not our diet) otherwise we really liked it

We are resting at the hotel in this period of time , June 2022 . The hotel is clean , the staff is friendly , the cleaning is decent , they go around asking what to clean . This is where the advantages ended : the water in the pool is cold , it heats up in the evening , but if the day is cloudy , it 's cold to swim (((( The water is not filtered , not cleaned and this is a minus , it 's just chlorinated with drugs .a separate topic on nutrition , it is no (((( no vegetables , no fruits , forget it !!!! For breakfast , croutons , boiled eggs , porridge . For lunch , soup and buckwheat or pasta with chicken wings and so on every day for 10 days : lunch buckwheat or pasta , evening buckwheat or pasta 🤦♀️And constantly with chicken liver , it 's a complete nightmare . Oh yes , it was a complete shock , instead of meat , eggs with mayonnaise are offered to buckwheat , such a blow , brrrrrr. 🤮Linen has not been changed once in 10 days !!! They say there is not enough linen 🤦♀️Even milk is diluted with water to save money. I have never seen such food anywhere . Therefore, I will never come to this hotel again and will not advise anyone

The food is meager and monotonous. The rooms are nice, clean, the linen was changed regularly, cleaned every day. The staff is polite and helpful. The only negative was that the lights were often turned off. The territory is well maintained and clean.

I read reviews of the Rodina Hotel.... mixed feelings. And that's why. I was in New Athos in 1968 with my parents and in 2015 with my family (me, my wife and three children - boys of 19, 12 and 6 years old).
It doesn't make sense to describe your impressions and ratings of the site, however, as well as post photos of the monastery, beach, waterfall and caves!
But as for the hotel, I'll share it here - I didn't see building 2, but on the way to an excursion to the caves, I looked at the former Campsite of the VTSPS for old times' sake (yes, yes - that was exactly what it used to be there!) and building 1, which was very modern and in demand in 1968, stood in complete ruin, not to say in ruins, back in 2015... of course, there is no pool in sight... but the car wash - yes, it already was.
By the way, in a shady coniferous grove, behind the 1st building towards the sea in 68m there was a tent camp of the same camp site ....
The fact that the new owners took up such an object years after the war in 1993, it's very cool - such a great place in the heart of the city! It seems to me that everything will settle down over time and it will be fine - the tourist will vote in rubles and the owners will keep their nose to the wind)
