This is the best hotel on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Magnificent luxury rooms, which have everything for comfort and convenience, there is a hygienic shower, a TV with Russian channels. Cleaning every day, morning and evening, turned funny elephants, cubs, anteaters. We were greeted in the evening, fed, everything was decorated instantly, and immediately settled into a great room with a view of the large pool and the ocean. There are no mosquitoes, the sockets are suitable for our chargers. The variety and quality of food is a special tribute to the hotel staff!

A wonderful hotel in Sri Lanka. The rooms are clean, everything works in the room, the food is very tasty, of course there are also disadvantages of the beach at the hotel, the waves of the huge ocean washed it away to go swimming in the lagoons, even next to the hotel if you go to the right, not every brave person will be able to risk swimming under such waves. And so Sri Lanka is not Turkey, sitting in a hotel is not an option , it's trips around the island, there are many amazing places that you need to see inconspicuously.

A wonderful hotel. Service and meals for 5*. There are some difficulties with the beach, it is not quite suitable for families with children. Right at the hotel, the shore is fortified with cobblestones, but if you walk literally 300 meters, you get to a sandy beach. But apparently the peculiarity of Sri Lanka is that there are big waves on almost all beaches and you can't send children swimming on their own.

I had a rest in May 2023 - I really liked it! The ocean view from the window is fantastic! Excellent cuisine- varied and very tasty! The staff is polite and speaks good Russian, they always try to understand and help! Change of linen, towels, room cleaning - all regularly and efficiently! There are a lot of chipmunks on the territory.I had a great rest!

An amazing hotel!)
Of the cons:
- Huge cockroaches are crawling in the room, ants are sleeping in bed with you!)
- The food is insanely spicy. Everything! Not even national dishes, right down to the usual side dishes
- There is no direct access to the beach from the hotel, there are huge boulders near the shore.
- There is practically no cleaning in the rooms. Towels are rarely changed, bed linen is not changed at all) But they can make an elephant or a monkey out of your wet towels!) Photo attached)
- The staff speaks English "rarely" and poorly, likes to extort money! If you are told that some kind of help or service is free, do not be fooled, this is a deception, they will beg you for money anyway!)
- I highly recommend putting all valuables and money in the safe. Our neighbors were robbed at night, the robber climbed through the balcony. The police are inactive, there will be no proceedings)
- The water in the pool is "purified" by pouring large amounts of chlorine, be careful, favorite skin and eye reactions are possible.
Of the advantages:

- Very large swimming pool
- There is parking inside the hotel)
- Delicious desserts and lots of fresh fruits)
- You can play beach volleyball, water polo, yoga)
- There are several paid restaurants on the territory)
P.S. The hotel manager will assure you with a smile from ear to ear that you got the best room, however, after bringing you to it, he will ask for money. So that you understand, all rooms are the same!)

The sea was stormy, it was hard to swim. We took it on the basis of breakfasts - everything is monotonous, everything is the same, but you can have a hearty breakfast. We had a vacation in January 2022 with a child of 8 years old. The weather is excellent (about 30°), it was a little cloudy for only 1 day, but then we burned. 1 time closer to night there was a heavy downpour, but in the morning everything is already dry.
A wonderful hotel with a nice and well-maintained territory. The best in this lane. The staff is friendly. In the lobby, at check-in, they are treated to local juice, delicious tea and another spicy tea with spices. If a porter helps you with your luggage, thank him😉
On the territory of the hotel you can see 2 monitor lizards, which can look into the main restaurant, or walk between the sun beds, as well as hide in the shade along the pool. White herons shyly look out for goodies. On the balconies in the greenery, squirrels are also looking for something to profit from. There are daytime entertainments, see the schedule. Fun water aerobics😁👍 In the gym, the guys will always help and insure👍In the evening, you can sit in the lobby bar on the terrace overlooking the ocean, or inside. You can play billiards. The room is cleaned 2 times/day.
Beach: nice. There are waves, but you can swim. The beach is shared with the locals, but they come in small numbers only to watch the wonderful sunset, from 18:00. After the sun sets over the horizon, it is even more beautiful😍 In the dark, you can entertain yourself by running and catching crabs on the beach with a flashlight. There are a lot of them, they run away like cockroaches. Even the guard helped us with his powerful flashlight😁
Swimming pool: there are enough sun beds. The pool is small (very shallow), as well as large, moving from medium to deep (it has areas with Jacuzzi buttons). There is also a net for volleyball, a ring. There is a bar right in the pool, which is convenient. You can ask the staff to pick a coconut to drink, for a fee. After sunset, they also bathed in it, no one kicked them out😁
Food: we only took breakfast. Juices, local fruits, pastries are not bad, local food, milk like, fresh eggs, coffee/tea can be ordered by the waiters. We went to local cafes for lunch. Oasis has delicious pizza on the stove. The owner offers tours, but it is expensive. Zenit Cafe (may be called Fancy Seafood on the map) has the most delicious non-diluted fresh fruits. They even ate a shark there. Very tasty squid, although I usually don't like them. A relative of the hostess Ota (Otha, in the photo with red glasses) organized tours for us. You can staff it the way you want. We took a safari in Yala Park + Unawatuna beach (car trip). In the park, an open jeep tour (unforgettable shaking experience) It's cool to drive before sunrise, it's better to take something with sleeves! It is forbidden to go out in the park itself (for safety reasons) and to launch a drone too. It is better not to go on Monday or on a full moon - the locals have a day off and there are a lot of them. We saw a leopard, elephants, peacocks, monitor lizards, monkeys, strange animals, a crocodile in the distance, etc. Unawatuna beach with turquoise water, without waves. Beautiful location. There are many cafes, places to spend the night. A hangout place. The second tour from Ota by tuk-tuk, it was more interesting and more picturesque: Kandevihare temple in Beruvela + safari by boat + turtle farm + Beruvela lagoon. There are steps in front of the entrance to the temple with a beautiful view of it in the form of a Buddha. It is mandatory for both women and men to cover their bare legs below the knees. If clothes do not allow, you can buy a handkerchief at the bottom near the tuk-tuk parking lot. Next to the temple there is a Bodhi tree, near which you can take a photo with an elephant. During a boat trip, they saw a tropical snake, a chameleon, many monitor lizards, held a small crocodile in their hands, swam deep into the jungle and saw monkeys. At the turtle farm, you can not only see, but also hold turtles from tiny to huge. Beruvela Lagoon has a beautiful beach without waves. Almost no one is there. A beautiful location for a photo with a view of the island. The stones are big. There are tires on the palm trees as a swing.
We also had lunch at the Barracuda cafe, which is on the other side of the hotel. Very tasty red fish (ask for availability), salads and everything else! There is a nice guy Tolik on the beach near the hotel (Ramesh seems to be his real name, in the photo with the board), you can go fishing in a boat with him. My husband went to morning school. What I caught can be fried just in the Barracuda cafe for an additional fee. By the way, Tolik is also involved in organizing tours, he just snatched us right away😁
In general, the locals are very friendly and polite, they say hello sir, hello madam. All the guys who take up vouchers speak Russian and other languages. Some tuk-tuk drivers also know a little Russian. If you want to go somewhere, for example to the store, to do PCR at New Philip Hospitals - download the Pickme app. Even if you don't want to wait, you will at least understand how much the trip costs, otherwise the locals are being fooled. For example, 300 rupees to the hospital, and they say 500). It is better to buy fruits in the markets, they will be fresher (we always went in the direction of Kalutara. There, in front of the bridge itself, on the right, the most extreme man stands, he has a lot of everything and he gives everything a try! Be sure to take juicy mangoes and try saucepan!🤤(sour cream apple), wrinkled passion fruit. But never take a wooden apple - it's a rare muck.) Money can be changed at the sewing studio near the hotel on the right. If you want to dance, make friends with the local guys on the beach, they will tell you when and where. And if you are invited by the locals, do not refuse. That's how we got to the local Big girl party. Lots of impressions, cool music (like in the best clubs), eating with your hands by the way, as well as the locals😁 Then we became friends with a family who invited us home for lunch. They are so hospitable, although they knew Russian and English very poorly.

Decent dinners, meat of several types, fish, fruits, ice cream, sweets, tea and coffee every day. You won't be hungry for sure

The hotel grounds are large, clean and green. The food is disgusting, we went half-starved, then we started going to eat in cafes outside the hotel. The dishes are all spicy and tasteless. There is not much choice. You have to sign for every drink you drink, despite everything being included.

On the last night. We decided to play billiards. Blunt cues, leaky cloth - total: the cloth is torn. My husband and I were looking for two employees to report this situation. It took us 30 minutes! Everything seems to have been resolved, but it's not that simple ((((( they came to our room at night and told us to pay at least $ 300 or they won't let us out! They drove the child to hysterics with threats!
No one knows the police number at the hotel) we did not expect such an end to the vacation (
The hotel itself is good, the staff is the same - especially the service by the pool.

We met in this hotel in 2007. We really liked it. Excellent territory, friendly staff, good cuisine, decent SPA, And of course a wonderful ocean - quiet and calm in the morning, and in the evening with a long and harmless wave on which you can surf on a bodyboard. Not far from the hotel there are various restaurants with wonderful seafood at affordable prices.
