A beautiful, bright and warm place, from which you absolutely do not want to leave. All floors of the tower are beautifully furnished, and the ceilings there are very unusual). Beauty! At the moment (August 2024), the entire tower of 4 floors is open to the public (including the basement, which V. S. Korotkevich wrote about in the book "Chorny Zamak Alshansky"), a large area on the lower level, where there were underground rooms and a beautiful passage with arches on the ground floor.
There are two mobile buildings in the parking lot, a WC and a tour center, we buy a chip card for a 3₽ turnstile and beautiful paths to the ruins.... Convenient, practical, and informative.... Three floors of the tower and the first level are open for inspection, there is a free passage behind the ruins of the reconstruction site
A very interesting historical atmospheric place, it's a pity they started to reconstruct it too late. So far, only one tower has been restored, in which a small exposition is presented - it looks pretty. Work continues and if the neighboring wing is restored and the lake next to the castle is restored, a beautiful ensemble will turn out. The basement and the first floor are now in conservation (all that remains), but these ruins look beautiful and majestic. Golshany itself seems to be steeped in history - many historical buildings have been preserved in the village, after visiting the castle in Golshany, I immediately wanted to reread V. Korotkevich's novel "The Black Castle of Olshansky". There is a Struve geodetic arc point near Golshany, if you have time, you can stop by to inspect it.
Repairs and restoration are underway, which pleases. The views are interesting, the exposition is sparse, but for this little money it is quite acceptable (you can see the efforts of the restorers and there are places where you can take pictures). The parking lot is large, the toilets are clean, magnets in large quantities and for every taste.
Inexpensive. Nicely.
Nice staff.
Paying only in cash is a minus.
But what an idea! "Climbing the abandoned" is a dream. Safe stairs along the restored object, small expositions with the history of the castle and the area, and the scale and complexity of the construction are visible.
A lot of work has been done on the reconstruction of the castle. We will be happy to visit after the restoration. The staff is friendly, attentive and competent. Thanks for the tour. We recommend you to visit.
I adored this place back in the days when it was not surrounded by a fence, hinting that there would be restoration soon. When I first visited it, there were such amazing brick arches - I ran along them and took pictures, and then I arrived there a couple of years later - but there were no arches, they collapsed! It was very sad. It's a literal feeling when a majestic story turns to dust before your eyes.
When the restoration began, it was very exciting. But I shouldn't have worried - there's a great recovery. The stairs leading to the top of the tower, which used to be difficult to imagine in all its glory, are naturally exciting and breathtaking. Small exhibition halls, but very cozy, realistic, drawing pictures from the imagination.
I highly recommend you to visit!
By some miracle, the modern human hand touches these ruins so subtly that the state of historicity and that very "mysterious energy" is preserved entirely.
The first castle in Golshany appeared back in the XIII century, when the village was owned by the family of the princes of Golshany. But, like most buildings of that time, it was built of wood, and nothing has survived from it.
In the XVI century, the Golshany came into the possession of Sapieha, and in 1610 the construction of a stone castle began. It is curious that it began to be built as a defensive structure, and in the process the idea of the project was changed – a palace was erected.
Unfortunately, the Golshansky castle was not destined to become the ancestral home of the Sapieha. The last representative of the Pavel Stefan family had no heirs. After his death, the castle began to change owners regularly, was repeatedly destroyed, restored, rebuilt. At the end of the XIX century, another owner even began to blow up the walls, and used bricks for other construction needs. But the XX century brought the greatest destruction to the castle.
Until now, scientists are wondering what the castle in Golshany might look like – literally several of its images have come down to our time. This is probably why it was decided not to restore the castle completely, but to make picturesque ruins out of it, which in itself is a rarity.
The ruins of the Golshansky Castle were preserved and strengthened to prevent further destruction, and the North Tower was restored. It has an observation deck and a small museum dedicated to the history of the castle.
Now you can explore the majestic ruins and admire the size and architecture of the former Sapieha domain. Fragments of walls and fortress towers have been preserved. But of course, nothing has survived from the once luxurious interiors.
Descending into the dungeons of the castle, you can hear the legends of Golshan, which are somehow connected with the construction site and walls. Allegedly, a "black monk" wanders around the castle – the soul of a guy who fell in love with the princess, but earned the malice of her father, and was immured in the castle wall. And the legend about the "white lady" tells about a girl who was walled up in the wall of a monastery in the center of Golshan in order to have time to erect a shrine on time, all because the constantly destroying wall brought down plans.
In addition to the castle, a Baroque church of the XVII century is located in Golshany, shopping malls of the XIX century have been preserved on the square, and typical residential buildings from the same period stretch along the streets.
Everything is done well, it's nice to come. The only thing I would like is a larger number of guides or an audio guide. Yes, we arrived in a small company, but the guide was busy with another group. Tickets are relatively cheap. Beautiful view. I hope that the reconstruction will continue, it is very interesting to see what happens next
It's a fascinating view, but of course it's a pity that the castle is currently under reconstruction and there's not much to see. But in general, I really liked everything! There is a place to walk, you can go inside, there is a small room with stairs.
A great example of proper conservation of an old castle! Everything is carefully preserved, transparent "roofs" are made on the ruins. I really liked the system with ladders and bridges to explore every piece of the castle. The restoration of the tower is still underway, but the interior exhibits are already on display. The appearance is amazing ;) Compared to the already reconstructed castles, this feeling of the old eras has been preserved here, it is definitely worth a visit :)
I would also like guides to appear.
An interesting tourist site in Belarus. With the help of reconstruction, you can get acquainted with the material of the walls at different times of the castle's construction. Interesting excursions, there is a souvenir sale.
I really enjoyed visiting this castle. A wonderful idea with a basement, the feeling that the events in Korotkevich's book were described not so long ago and you are following in their footsteps.
In general, there is a very cozy atmosphere on the territory, I do not want to leave.
There are a lot of souvenirs in the room where tickets are sold. Admission is inexpensive. The parking lot is quite spacious. There is a toilet.
A beautiful place, the castle has a toilet and a souvenir shop, the castle is under reconstruction, but you can go to the tower, a fairly busy place, a lot of tourists
It's very cool, we were here 14 years ago, we examined these ruins, but we couldn't even imagine that it was such a big castle, we dug up a lot. The main thing is that the ruins are preserved and not laid with new bricks, the imagination has a place to roam. Although the engineering solution for protecting walls from precipitation, in my opinion, is not the best, the pile of profile and plastic on the walls looks ridiculous, and will spoil the overall picture, and metal tracks on different tiers, as a solution, I really liked it
An interesting place. The conservation process is currently underway to organize an open-air museum in the near future. There is already a part of the restored tower where you can go by buying tickets. Good parking, souvenir shop.
Despite the fact that the castle is in the process of restoration, you can wander around. There is even an exhibition in the tower. After visiting the castle, I even wanted to read a book by the Belarusian writer Korotkevich and watch a movie where the action takes place in this castle. Of course, the castle cannot be compared with such famous castles as Mir and Lida, but I liked it precisely because it is still in a wild state, and not licked to a shine like the rest
I really liked it. A theatrical performance, an interesting presentation of information, involving visitors in the game, dancing, an educational tour, I liked everything. The organizers did well!👍
The reconstruction of the castle is being completed (work is still underway on the left side), the entire right side is open for viewing. I recommend first going down "inside" the ruins of the castle, and then at the base of the tower through a small unsightly door to get to the museum. You can, of course, go higher, but then skip the interesting room with the so-called "ghosts". It looks atmospheric, besides, the staircase, as I understand it, is authentic. Although the museum itself is small, and, of course, there are few exhibits there, but people are trying. A very beautiful fireplace. Well, or what he could be. I recommend. As of August 2024, the price for an independent visit is only 3!!! Rubles.
Golshany Castle has become prettier over the past couple of years. A great place where you really immerse yourself in the history of your native Belarus
The views are beautiful, the old brickwork is visible. It is clear that the castle is being reconstructed, but there is already something to see. The ticket price is surprisingly small. You will have time to inspect everything in 40 minutes for sure
The ruins are preserved by metal and plastic, there is, by and large, nothing to look at for a long time now. But the views from the tower are beautiful, the territory is well maintained, the cost of visiting is purely symbolic, so it's worth coming. Together with the very charismatic center of the Golshan themselves, you will definitely not be disappointed! Fans of Korotkevich's novels and the old Soviet film "Black Castle Olshansky" should definitely go! MastHev))
A very atmospheric place, a passage through three levels inside the ruins of the castle is organized.
The ticket price can also be raised, taking into account the cost of maintaining the condition of the castle
It's a very atmospheric place. There is history everywhere and even the rainy weather did not spoil the impression. It's a pity, such a memory of bygone years is in such a state. No special restorations are planned, only conservation. But thank you for having it too. But the guide was a little rude
The castle is being actively restored, the walls are almost completely new in places, the wall around the castle remains from antiquity. There is a museum, the area around is landscaped, there is a visitor center, toilet, Parking.
It's an unforgettable experience!
The territory has a cool landscape, and the castle itself is sooo interesting!!!
Super exhibits)
Landscapes without words)
It is a very interesting place, it is really ruins, they are preserved, but everything is done in a way that can be considered. One three-storey tower has been restored and it has a small exhibition.
The ruins of the castle are currently (July 2024) in the process of restoration. Let's hope that Golshansky Castle will soon be on a par with Lida and Mirsky. A small ticket office sells souvenir tickets (only for cash), for which you can climb the temporary stairs to the only tower so far.
It's a very atmospheric place. But everything requires imagination and stories from the guide. Well done for starting to try to reconstruct this place. The story that happened there is just awesome.
The castle is not being restored. If I understand correctly, they produce conservation. I liked the very principle of organizing the review. It is not standard and interesting. After finishing the work, you will need to look in.
It is a pity that part of the ruined walls of the castle remained. It would be interesting to see what he was like. But we came across an excellent guide - a black cat with white paws, he ran ahead of us, as if showing the route.
I visit this place for the third or fourth time. During the first visits, I found only ruins and preparations for restoration - conservation, or an already restored tower, but it was still closed to the public.
Now you can visit the basement and the tower. Climbing up the tower (three floors) along the way, you can go down to the playground and look inside the courtyard.
A ticket for an adult will cost 3 bel.rub., for children 2 bel.rub.
There is free parking nearby.
The toilet is free for visitors, the rest - 50 kopecks. Clean, neat, warm tap water, soap, paper - everything is there)))
I recommend visiting with the whole family with school-age children.
It's a good place. 3p for admission. It is clear that they are trying to restore. Waiting for completion. It's a pity that it probably won't happen soon. But, it's a noble place for me. Calm. Interesting.
Restoration is underway, but something is open and can be visited. The staff is wonderful)
I really want to visit the castle after the restoration is completed
An interesting solution for the preservation and preservation of ruins
But the iron decking is not in harmony with the era and time. It would look more interesting from wood
The castle is rising from the ruins! This place is worth a visit for those who are interested in the history of their region and country. But it is better to come on weekdays, as the number of people on weekends is large.
I've been there before. Before conservation. Everything was very deplorable. Now what's left has been put in order. You only need to visit with a guide. The history of this place is very interesting...
There is a convenient free parking, a toilet, a souvenir shop. The castle itself is undergoing restoration. Externally, it is fully accessible. Inside, you can only walk around one tower, on all floors. The place is filled with legends. This is another witness to the rich heritage of Belarus and its citizens.
The castle is still under reconstruction. But some part of it is already working. There are exhibits. The White Lady and the Black Monk were the most impressed. I would like to note that unlike other similar museums, in this one, the exhibits are not blocked by a restrictive tape and you can get close to them. It is clear that the reconstruction will continue. I will be happy to come again after its completion. The staff is very polite. The ticket price was 3 rubles.
A symbolic entrance fee — and you have three floors of a small museum tower at your disposal + the opportunity to watch the restoration process. And also, there are very beautiful commemorative magnets

I planned a trip to Polotsk, Golshany is on the way, but let's stop by. To be honest, I didn't expect much, but everything turned out to be just above all praise. 1. What I liked right away., a large parking lot, a chic toilet, the main thing is clean, those who travel a lot will understand. Then there is a ticket office (prices 2-3 rubles for an entrance ticket), friendly staff, paid for the services of a guide (10 rubles). Without a guide, visiting such facilities is not informative enough. The tour is very informative, we learned a lot of new and interesting things, thanks to the guide. The North Tower was restored in the castle, the exposition is sparse, but interesting. The castle itself is admired for its size and architecture, rich in history. Unfortunately, the funds allocated by the state are only enough for conservation measures..
I advise everyone to visit, and be sure to take a tour, you will not regret it.
It's a beautiful place. It is pleasant that reconstruction and further excavations are taking place, but so far a small part of the castle and the entrance to the tower are available for viewing.
