The temple of Apollo the Pythian was the main spiritual center of Rhodes. The name of the temple is associated with the myth of the serpent Python, who was killed by Apollo.
Today, little remains of the sanctuary of Apollo.
Only its base, fragments of the floor and 4 columns have been preserved, restored by the Italians from scattered fragments found during excavations in 1916.

I love walking tours, so from the city of Rhodes, my husband and I went to Monte Smith to see the acropolis. Half of them have already been restored, however, this does not spoil the overall picture. You feel the mystery of this place, it's fascinating!
