I recently visited Novospassk and saw the ruins of an ancient Uniate church. This place left a dual impression: on the one hand, there is a deep historical atmosphere, and on the other, sadness that the architectural monument is in an abandoned state.
Even in its dilapidated state, the church is impressive. Fragments of walls, part of the vaults have been preserved, and in some places decorative elements can be guessed. You can imagine how beautiful she looked in her prime. Especially interesting is the combination of features characteristic of Uniate churches — a mixture of Catholic and Orthodox traditions.
Unfortunately, the ruins are gradually collapsing. I would like local authorities or enthusiasts to pay attention to this landmark — at least the preservation of the remains of the building would help preserve it for future generations.
If you love history and atmospheric places, the ruins of the church in Novospassk are worth a visit. Here you can take interesting photos, reflect on the past and feel connected to a bygone era. However, be careful: the building is unsafe, it is better to inspect it from the outside.
This monument deserves more attention. I would like to believe that someday it will be restored or at least mothballed. For now, it remains a quiet reminder of a rich but forgotten legacy.
Good afternoon, everyone. There is an entrance to the ruins. There is a sign with the direction for the entrance. We mow it on our own, if possible. On our initiative, a sign with a description of the church was placed near the church. Yes, it was destroyed during the First World War. There was a line of Bochkareva's women's battalion in the church. We have seen these walls a lot and looking at them they can tell us a lot.
Driving along the road, in a small village (you may not notice if you don't know) there are ruins of a once large temple. There is already a modern one nearby, but it is not suitable for comparison. The ruins are abandoned, overgrown with grass, no one needs them, only occasionally tourists come to take a look (and then only those who know).
In the village of Novospassk, in the Smorgon district of the Grodno region, there are ruins of the Transfiguration Church.
The First World War, the revolution and then the Second World War did not spare the masterpieces of architecture on our land.
It remains only to walk with the ghosts of the past, imagining the decoration of a luxurious temple.
