A cool historical place. It is very nice that at least some kind of reconstruction is underway. Beautiful nature and at the same time good infrastructure (near a store, pharmacy, good Internet connection).
The castle is being restored, and architectural excavations are still ongoing inside. Now this place is not as attractive as it could be, but when the reconstruction is completed and the museum is opened, it will be a point of attraction no worse than Mirsky or any other castle in Belarus!
The castle is being restored. You can only enter with a guide. We wanted to book an excursion, but payment is accepted exclusively in Belarusian rubles. The nearest bank works once a week - it was not possible to change it. We walked around by ourselves, read the stands. Then we found additional information on the Internet.
This is something!!! The place and its history are impressive!!! The informal capital is ON!! Everything is full of history there!!!! There are embassies, princes and tsars here....Khan Tokhtamysh was standing there as an embassy waiting for an audience with the king.... It's crazy!!! A beautiful place!!! Thanks!!
Unexpectedly, the place was very surprised, the magnificent restoration of the fortress, and most of all I liked the mountainous terrain itself, and especially the church of Alexander Nevsky, it is a complete delight.
At the time of the visit (July 2024), the territory is closed, there is not much to see, you can walk around and that's it. Perhaps with some kind of excursion you can get inside, but there is nothing special inside either
You can also go to St. George's Mountain. She's nearby. The souvenir seller can tell you where to look at the Kreva Castle in miniature. By the way, he is the creator of this
A lot of work has not been done yet: you can only make a circle around and evaluate the ruins of the synagogue nearby, see the river, buy souvenirs. We'll have to wait a bit until it's fixed.
The place is interesting, but on a weekday everything was closed around the perimeter, perhaps on weekends in a different way, archaeological excavations are underway.
We explore similar places with our family, I had enough impressions.
The only drawback is the reconstruction, since you could only walk around.
We walked a little in the vicinity, in general, we did not regret that we came.
It's good when history is preserved for future generations! It is a pity that for a long time everything fell into disrepair and was not restored in any way!
We were very unlucky with the guide. It is definitely worth visiting, because these towers are being destroyed quite a lot. But in general, it cannot be said that the castle is really planned to be restored.
We were on a cold, windy day. The atmosphere of the ruins was quite consistent with the weather-gloomy and a little ominous. And the history of the castle is still the same… On Saturdays at 12:00 local guys in the image of medieval Hajduk pass to the drumming to the tower, where beautiful views of the surrounding area open. I highly recommend it! Yes, and if you are passing through Kreva Castle, keep in mind: There's no toilet anywhere😱
Unfortunately, it is being restored the way everything is being restored here. identity and everything of historical value is being lost. for show, if you visit such places, you can go, but of course it's a pity that such an iconic place looks like this now
I was on a weekday, passing through, I decided to look in, there is a cafe sign, but it does not work, the van where souvenirs should be is closed, there is a construction site on the territory, in general there is no marketing, I hope that the castle will still be reconstructed
First of all, these ruins are a living history. Even without a guide, information signs and the Internet will tell you a lot. There is Yuriev Mountain nearby, I strongly advise you to climb it. Although the castle is almost invisible from there, the view of the surrounding area is still impressive.
It's worth visiting once, and then it's nice to come back when the conservation is over and the open-air museum is opened, but they still have plans for this
This is a very historical and important place that undoubtedly influenced not only the history of our country but also the whole of Europe. Unfortunately, the place needs serious investments in reconstruction and infrastructure and competent marketing.
The place is interesting and belongs to the must-visit list. I really liked the mini-tour, which is conducted in pure Belarusian by the director, a very pleasant and pretty lady😉, you can fall in love carefully 🔥everything about historical facts and the life of the past of the castle, the tour will tell you a lot.
For me, any ruins are five stars. Restoration is underway now, and we are very glad that we managed to see these walls before it was completed. After the reconstruction (and there will probably be more new ones), it will not be the same at all. Unfortunately, the territory is closed, the entrance is only with a guided tour - 20 rubles. Payment in cash only in a small room next to the castle
Be sure to catch a guided tour! We really liked the detailed story of the guide. The man is just burning with his work. Thanks!
The castle is under restoration, I hope we will be able to see its greatness soon
I definitely recommend you to visit! Yes, the fortress is being restored, but there is something to see. The guide is definitely there, because only with him you will get to the courtyard.
I liked the sightseeing. We touched the history of the 14th century. We didn't book the tour, we examined it ourselves. Construction work is underway. There are too few points for inspection and photographing.
I advise everyone! The place of power of Belarus. The first stone castle on our territory.Very important historical decisions were made here.(Kiev Union).
It's a little complicated so far. They report by kerpich, in the walls of a single loophole. I do not know what will come out there in fact, but for today it is solid walls
The unique historical monument that we visited on August 14, 2021, just on the anniversary of the signing of the Kreva Union, left an unforgettable impression. We recommend it to everyone who is interested in the history of their region and just travel lovers)))
