I have been to Abkhazia four times, we always stay in Novaya Gagra. It's just great! The fascinating nature, the purest sea, the attractive power to return there again and again. I love the country of the Soul, I look forward to meeting you! We always stay with our friend next to the Ruslan hotel, have lunch and sometimes dinner only in the Ruslan hotel cafe, the service is very polite, they cook delicious,the portions are huge, the tables near the fountain, the landscape is not decorated!

We have just arrived from the Ruslan Hotel. The undoubted advantage is that the hotel is located right on the beach, but ... There are breakwaters in the sea and fittings sticking out of them. Several vacationers injured themselves with us. Sun beds and umbrellas on the beach are paid. The rooms in the hotel are good, ours faced the sea. I especially want to pay attention to the food at the hotel. It's a silent horror! If, of course, you want to lose weight, then you are definitely here. If sometimes there was something more or less decent, then the portions are so small that they were not even eaten by a 12-year-old teenager. What can we say about men who constantly went hungry. It's good that there is a dining boat in front of the hotel where you can eat tasty and relatively inexpensive food. We will not come to this hotel ourselves anymore and we will definitely not recommend it to anyone.

We had a double room with my wife. Two balconies, the TV shows poorly, often turns off the lights, but the generator is turned on, but not immediately. In addition to the hotel, there is a very good cafe here. It almost reaches the restaurant, but we were only on the summer porch, so I can't say that this is a restaurant with accuracy. We were in the restaurant, we did not visit the hotel. The quality of the kebab is very super. We ordered a pork neck, it just melted in my mouth. Delicious compote, fresh and cool. It is immediately clear that they are trying to improve the quality. After that cafe, I couldn't find anything better. They were beaten there in 2019, re-arrived in 2021 and there is no norm anywhere.

We had a rest in August 2022! Nice room with sea view. There is a kettle and a couple of glasses in the room. Room cleaning 1 time in 3 days at best. The garbage was taken out of the room only at our request. Nutrition is a nightmare... Breakfast is milk porridge, buckwheat and rice for lunch and dinner. Fruits were never given, vegetables were given 1 time in 14 days. There were potatoes once and pasta once. In Kiaraz, there are only breakfasts in Pitsunda, but a choice of 3 dishes, 1-2 types of porridge, cheesecakes or scrambled eggs or boiled eggs for the second, cottage cheese, cheese, butter and tea/coffee for the third. And here it is not clear what they paid for. They ate mostly in canteens or cafes in the city. Swimming is also not very convenient among the breakwaters.

We rested in this department for two days at the end of February.

But, the view of the sea right from the bed does its job.

The hotel is normal , the sea view is mesmerizing. The food is terrible , the same thing every day - rice , buckwheat - from old cereals , small portions , vegetables , fruits have never been given in two weeks . Soups are all meat - free , porridge on water , cheap tea , instant coffee 3 in 1. They were poisoned , they got out of bed for 5 days to run to the toilet , and this is not only such a story with us , everyone coming on the 2nd day has the same thing. I would never have given such money for such a miracle if I had known that it would be like this . We were in Abkhazia for the first time and never set foot there again .

So let's get started.
Pros: the location is good, close to the sea, there are pharmacies and shops nearby. The hotel itself looks clean, lived in a suite, nice (but then problems started). Friendly staff, always help in any way they can, nice young girls, both administrators and cleaning. Sea view rooms with a beautiful view. That's all.
Cons: disgusting food, cold, the cheapest overcooked pasta, sticky mashed potatoes, chewed cutlets with rice, soups without a single piece of meat. Eat outside, you are accompanied by stray dogs, dirty, flea-ridden and skinned. I do not want to come to eat, I do not have an appetite (photo below).
There are breakwaters in the sea, what they are and where they are not said. I went up to my chest and immediately they, sticking out rusty sticks at the bottom of the sea, did not swim normally, nothing. The descent to the sea is disgusting, the iron steps with big holes, it's hard for children and elderly people to get down and up there! Even the young have to hold on to the handrail and descend slowly (photo below). Next are the stripped pallets in which we turned our legs out more than once (photo below).
In the SUITE, ants crawled over me all night, just ran in a crowd from under the sofa and I constantly woke up in this "pleasure". The bathroom stank unbearably of sewage. There were occasional problems with water and light, but they were solved quickly. We cleaned the room 1 time during the whole time, we took the vacuum cleaner ourselves in the hallway and went to do what the staff had to do.
We never slept during the whole vacation, because there is an incomprehensible institution on the beach under the windows, where no one is ever there, but the music is POUNDING so that the windows shake. Playing all this fun from 9 am to 01:00 at NIGHT! There are two stoned guys sitting there who are "high."
Further, on the other side of the cafe, there is also music screaming, but it seems quieter. We went there on the second day to eat, as it is impossible to eat in the dining room. ROTAVIRUS IS PROVIDED FOR THE REST OF THE VACATION! For 5 days we lay with fever, vomiting and diarrhea. But these are still flowers.
We were hospitalized for two days, ivs at our own expense, medicines, injections, total: 14 thousand for your rotavirus in Gagra.
The child's temperature rose to 40 and gastric bleeding began! I'm silent about their local hospital, a quiet horror, but that's another thing…
Now we are at home and we are still coping with the consequences of that meal at the Ruslan cafe, it has been a whole week, but we are not getting better. We also refer to the virus in the sea. Clearly not what we expected from a vacation. We will not return to Abkhazia anymore, it is completely unsanitary, every second person has rotavirus!

We rest for the 4th day at the Ruslan hotel. I want to warn you right away. Don't get fooled by the reviews written here. They are wrong, to say the least. I was the first one to come down with an intestinal infection, so it's true about the rotovirus. But, from such unsanitary conditions that are happening here, this is not surprising. Moreover, we are not picky, but here it is tin in general.
Of the advantages, I will note only the sea nearby and good rooms.
The lights are turned off several times every day. They start the generator, but not immediately.
The most important horror is nutrition!!! If there is an opportunity, give it up right away. For breakfast, porridge on Water, without butter and a gray omelet, lunch: soup that piglets will not eat and unsalted buckwheat without butter with a small cutlet. Dinner is atas! Rice porridge, like pilaf and that's it. Neither cucumbers nor tomatoes. Yesterday there was a spoonful of cabbage. Portions are not even like in camp, like in kindergarten. And it is impossible to eat it.
I am shocked by such an outrage. Therefore, until my review is deleted, at least refuse to eat at this "super" hotel.

The beach, just pebbles ,tejaki 150p,umbrella 150,towels for the sea are not provided And the food is a special tragedy! We all understand, the hotel is economy, but you can'T feed people with this!!!! Yes, and the delivery is peculiar to the queue, and from the window on the tray you will be given THIS! Summer, not a single vegetable, but fruits are out of the question. Many people ate in the neighboring canteens, especially not bad in the police canteen! It was terrible, they were biting, running over us at night. There were no rooms available and I had to live for two more days in a room with BEDBUGS, then, thank God, another room was available and I asked to move us there.
