Excellent theater, productions and acting at the highest level, no worse than in Moscow theaters. We visit this theater regularly, as it is a real outlet for Russian-speaking residents of Yerevan and for tourists. I recommend it to all lovers of real theatrical art.
On November 22, at the Moscow Drama Theater, People attended the play "False Note" based on the play by the French playwright Didier Caron. The performance was presented by the artists of the Yerevan State Russian Drama Theater named after K. Stanislavsky. I would like to share my impressions. The performance was watched in one go, the plot attracts from the very beginning, you listen to every word. The whole performance is in high tension, waiting for the denouement. The intrigue of the plot holds until the very end. I would like to mention the excellent performance of the actors Robert Hakobyan and Armen Arnautov. Thanks to them for their talent, for the game, for the emotions they experienced! The impressions of the performance were excellent! We thank everyone involved in this production! Special thanks to director Levon Uzunyan! We advise everyone to watch the performance, it will be interesting! Thank you all again! Irina
This theater is one of my favorites since childhood, I have been going to this theater And now, according to tradition, I take children to good performances and the game of arstiss. And most importantly, there are always productions in Russian for any age category.
We were at the play "God of Carnage". The audience is on stage with the actors. The effect of complicity is extraordinary. The theater is wonderful. Chamber atmosphere.
Thanks!
To a wonderful evening.
For a bright production.
For a great game!
We watched "Notes of a young doctor". How could you come up with such an easy, bright, interesting thing to put on? Plastic actors 🔥
The super theater. The actors are just magical, very talented. The last time I went to a performance of the "Game of Kings". It was a fantastic performance, the actors played very well, I was just delighted. Thank you for such a wonderful job. 💛🫂
The theater is located in the heart of Yerevan, opposite the Moscow cinema. The repertoire is in Russian. The prices are very affordable. Some unkemptness is rather due to a lack of finances. The repertoire includes both Russian classics (Turgenev, Pushkin) and modern works. They play well, mentally, sometimes recklessly. There is a small theater museum at the theater, free of charge
I like to book seats in the front row, a sense of celebration, as if the performance is going on personally for you. The actors are playing just great!
The theater is good and the artists are great, but the arrangements of the music are terrible. When the lights were turned off in the area where the theater is located and the actors played without music, the performance immediately became better and more enjoyable
It is very difficult for me to give an adequate assessment of this theater, because my impression is divided into two parts: artistic and, more precisely, economic, or something. The theater, of course, is poor, the carpet in the auditorium looks about a hundred years old, there are chairs of the same age, there is no buffet, only a cloakroom attendant. Many people are sitting in the hall in their outerwear (in winter). We watched Eugene Onegin. The scenery is minimal, like in a student theater. A table on wheels and a rag hanging in the middle of the stage. But! The actors are great! Everything is in its place, every actor "sparkles", even in small roles. Their talent and love of the profession made me forget about all these material things. Thank you for your service to art!
The theater is located around the corner of the central square.
A review of a visit to the small stage of the theater.
It's gloomy. Decorations and curtains in dark colors.
The chairs are uncomfortable.
There is no stage.
I watched the staged one-man show Amok" in Russian based on the novel of the same name by S. Zweig.
Staged, staged, performed by Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Robert Hakobyan. The performance is built in the form of a monologue, the actor's speech is addressed to the audience and to himself.
Set design and costume: Artur Harutyunyan.
Without intermission, a break between the actions (acts) of the performance.
Without decorations and any kind of artistic decoration of the place of action, creating a visual image of the performance..
The impression of what he saw is depressing. A real drama. I came out confused, even upset: the fate of the hero of the work is so tragic. And also the understanding that the Republic of Armenia does not invest in the theater. It feels like the work on the play is based on the naked enthusiasm of Robert Hakobyan and Artur Harutyunyan.
It's clear from the look of it that they have very little funding, but the guys are trying, and in general the only place where there are performances in Russian
We were at the play "Khanuma". It's a masterpiece! Armenian actors playing a play in Russian, but with an Armenian accent)))) They laughed heartily. I really liked the performance of all the actors, costumes and scenery. Comfortable chairs.
A good theater, we went to Small Tragedies with my wife. The scenery is very modest, but the actors pulled it out. Well done. Everything is on target. All the actors are Armenians, but Russian art was in the air
I went to the Little Tragedies and was very pleased, I decided to take a ticket to Khanuma the next day. It's a delight! One of the best comedies, the cast is great. The prices are very affordable at the same time
We were at the play "Notes of a young doctor" by Bulgakov. It was very reminiscent of the Saturday theater in St. Petersburg, a sincere and cool production, talented actors
I was at a children's play with a 3-year-old child. I think it was called the Council of Mice. Since this was our first time going to the theater, I just hoped that the child would leave and did not expect much from the performance. The production seemed strange to me, in fact, there was no plot in it, but it consisted of performances by hero mice, which were staged rudely. The theater itself is in great need of renovation ((
We watched the play, Faryatyev's Fantasies. "I want to express my gratitude to all the actors for their excellent performance!

A wonderful theater! The cast is wonderful. I was lucky to get to 2 evenings in a row to enjoy the classics: Chekhov's "Cherry Orchard" and Bulgakov's "Notes of a Young Doctor".
Bravo to the director and the actors!!!
The only drawbacks, perhaps, are that the hall is very old (apparently a former Soviet cinema) and there is absolutely no buffet.
The acting is at a good level!
It was a little strange that the buffet was not working at the premiere of the play.
The theater needs renovation, but, on the whole, the impressions are pleasant.
We were at "Aladdin and the magic lamp", my daughter and I really liked it! a magical performance! Holiday! Jafar, and Sultan fire!) Thank you very much to all the Actors for such a holiday!
If you haven't been here yet, then I strongly advise you to visit, and if you have, then I'm sure you already want to repeat it :)
A large hall, various productions, the acting is always on top
I attended a performance based on the classic play "The Rascals of Scapin". I heard positive reviews, I expected a pleasant time.
I didn't expect to get so much pleasure from a familiar play. The images exceeded all expectations. It feels like the whole troupe was working like one machine. Don't take your eyes off the context for a second. Over and over again, I want to laugh and cry at fools and misers, at the naive and the roguish, at ourselves.
I bow to you, and thank you very much!
We were at a children's fairy tale about Mice, I really liked the actors' play - everything is in Russian, it's a pity that there was no New Year's tale before the New Year
The production of "The Marriage of Balzaminov" is beyond praise! The acting, a small chamber hall, a minimum of scenery - everything is spot on and goosebumps!
Yesterday we were at the theater for a performance. "Khanuma". Complete delight. Brilliant acting!! The performance looks in one go. I advise everyone. I noticed that it is probably not customary in Yerevan to give flowers to actors. I confess, we also came without flowers and were very sorry about it. Because I wanted to give it to everyone, in gratitude for the pleasure. Take more flowers, give
them to the actors. They all deserve it!
We've always liked it there, but we didn't like this New Year's performance.

Thank you for the pleasure!!!!👏👏👏👏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Low bow!!!! Encore!!!! Bravo!!!
Marry without parental blessing? In the time of Moliere, it was a mauvais. And now you won't surprise anyone. The comedy based on Moliere "Scapin's Rascals" at the Stanislavsky Theater in Yerevan tells us the story of such audacity on the one hand, and the story of one manipulator, on the other. That's what one of the central characters of this work would be called now.
Skapen (Lev Nabaldyan). This guy is the most consistent with the genre of the play – comedy declared in the poster. He's so expressive. Capable of giving out up to a thousand words per minute by training and pursuing the goal of convincing, "muddying" the interlocutor. In some ways, he looks like a character.. There is such a not very often used word as gouge. It's not offensive in its guise, but it says a lot.
At the same time, the mind does not shine clearly in the Scapin. He's like that, this mind... hidden and disguised, or something. The play "Scapin's Rascals" is more than irony. This is a thing about the substitution of concepts and a fantastic change of opinion. There were no Indian films or "Santa Barbara" planned yet. And even then, Moliere was brilliant at these "soap opera" techniques. Scapin is clumsy. Roguish, overweight, a kind of perpetually rolling bun. The type of Evgeny Leonov is something.
Scapin is a key role and Lev Nalbandian gives himself entirely to it. He doesn't feel sorry for himself. Beads of sweat are running down my face. And he's pushing his own thing.
In general, this performance of the Yerevan Theater has it. Stanislavsky has one trait: it is the actors who have an outburst of emotions. They don't even feel sorry for themselves, and the hall is more restrained. After all, a sitcom is already a familiar thing for the modern spoiled viewer.
Scapin would have become a millionaire long ago now, in our time. This is a talented "decider" in a modern way. In everyday life, he would have been given the name manipulator. In business, this quality is very important.
Scapin is the nodal male role of this action staged by Karen Nersisyan. The female part of the performance is presented in a stripped-down way. Hyacinth (Hripsime Nagapetyan) generally seemed to me just a tanned girl. That's how the light fell. It was difficult for her to turn around. Because the author gave out little material. And the director of photography, too. It should be understood that "The Scapin's Rascals" in Yerevan, on stage, is primarily a male action.
The same Geront (Manvel Khachatryan) is the father of one of the sons who got married without parental blessing, also an amazing male type. It looks like a baby bird, small, nimble. Stingy. It even fits in a bag. There doesn't seem to be anything to catch the eye, and the scene with tremor in a bag of fear was worked out by prost with a bang. Outwardly not a giant. Neither strong nor muscular. But still, this is a male character in its essence.
Russians Oganesyan (Vazgen Hovhannisyan) became the third male director of the play "Plutni Skapena"
at the Stanislavsky Russian Theater in Yerevan, Armenia. I don't know why he was chosen to mentor a young rake who got married without parental blessing. Vazgen in this image does not look at all like an educator, it is rather a daring pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean. The dead man's chest." When he pops up with one eye patch "a la Kutuzov" you understand. Well, a pirate.
In the actors' outfits, every detail is bright. Costume designer Mary Sargsyan did her best. Here, every button on the caftan glitters. And what a contrast is created when the characters wear stockings of different colors. White, red, blue – such a fireworks display of costumes. The heads of the canes seem real.
It is impossible not to say about the disadvantages of "Scapin's Rascal"
In Yerevan. This is purely my subjective opinion. First, there is the feeling of three male central characters milling around on stage. This is especially noticeable from the first row of the stalls. It even makes my eyes blink a little. Too much is invested in not always justified movement, and sharp, with shouts, in the rather calm fabric of the performance. There was a feeling of some kind of wildfire.
After the performance, in the evening, I came up with the idea that perhaps these are manifestations of the Caucasian temperament, as they say in Russia. It's hard for me to explain it.
This is the second disadvantage of the performance – deliberate jokes do not always give rise to humor. The genre of the play is declared as a comedy, but there are not so many good jokes, namely jokes.
But in general, this is a bright, "smiling" spectacle, even if it is not very modern. But it gives a wonderful mood.

The theater needs renovation. There are a lot of old Soviet photographs on the walls. But despite this, the troupe plays great. I definitely recommend you to visit!
They just came out after the play "The Cherry Orchard".
I don't even know how to contact everyone to write.. Under such an impression.. In general.. We played - fire! It's short. Long ..: such a disclosure in the nuances of the play..- we haven't seen it yet! Special thanks to the director and everyone who prepared the scene! Only emotions about the whole performance..! Last..if-The scene of the dialogue at the end of Lopakhin and Varya - turned my whole soul upside down - there was a feeling - that's it! And Varya's eyes are still being discussed) Although we watched the play 30 times - but we believed it like Varya! Such an interjection.. game. And Firs... well.. and Firs.. Tears have risen! Yes, you can list every hero! ... How Lopakhin rejoiced! Yoshkin's cat - they immediately saw a serf boy in this merchant - a miracle "for the ancestors"! And the revolution .. Dawn shows in this young couple..! And how the confusion was shown.. There was a place for all the heroes and everyone was surprisingly revealed by both the director and the acting! You can talk about everyone for a long time!( Here we are now among ourselves and we will continue))! And most importantly, they played so well that everything is familiar - who has lived at least half of his life.. / - a family from Moscow! thank you! Bravo!
The performance of the Frog Princess 24.12.
Duration 1h15m without intermission.
Of the advantages: the children liked it (3 g, 6 l).
Minuses:
1. The wardrobe is NOT!!! it works (I had to take all my things with me to the gym)🤯
2. Rudeness of a theater employee at the entrance to the hall when asked why the wardrobe does not work.
3. After the performance, they are directly kicked out of the hall and the foyer of the theater (the impression that the audience is not welcome at all).

The interior takes you back 40 years. The performance of the artists is beyond praise. The troupe is quite young. I was surprised by the half-empty hall. Probably, military personnel were invited to fill in.
I attended 2 performances, I liked it, the acting, the director's idea, I recommend it

Well, this is in need of repair. The children's repertoire is at the level of a farce, the adult is a student theatrical skit. At the same time, it is clear that the potential seems to be there. Unfortunately, for lack of alternatives, we have to take what they give... or not to take it.

Absolutely amazing theater. The acting, the production is beyond praise. It's a pity they don't finance the renovation of the hall. They deserve it.
I highly recommend it! The actors play at a high level. The performances are excellent. There are children's performances.
The theater itself is in a neglected state, it's a pity. I hope it will be restored soon.
The theater is small. I went to the production of "People. Animals. Circumstances." I really liked the acting, and for me, this is the main thing in the theater.
