Hello everyone. We were at Saima Lakeside in June 2020, and here we are now, in August 2022. Since the real recent reviews date back to 2022, I decided to tell you how things are now.
And the cottage (D, we were in it 2 years ago) has changed a lot for the WORSE during this time!!
To begin with, the rest from Saturday to Tuesday cost us nothing less than 870 euros!! What did we get for this money?
We got a dilapidated and neglected cottage. The plates in the closet are dirty (my wife had to wash all the dishes - and this is for 870 euros!!), instead of firewood near the fireplace there is an empty dirty basket for firewood, the grids on the windows are all torn (see photo), on the ground floor NOT a SINGLE window can be opened (handles on the windows are removed!!), furniture in a deplorable state (see photo), a dirty oven (as if it was cooked in it every day for a year, and never washed - see photo), the TV is all spit on (did not wipe it for at least a year - see photo).
The coastal bathhouse is a separate conversation. The sauna, as you know, is for two with a neighboring cottage. So when we stopped by and on the day when we could use the bathhouse, I went into the bathhouse - there was such dirt there that it only remained to shit wigs in the middle. As a result, we had two days when we could use the sauna, we never used it, although we really wanted to go to the sauna and paid € 870 for the rest.
With all this, the reaction of the booking department manager is amazing! To the question, "why is the coastal bath dirty?" It was suggested to me... Attention!! Clean up after the neighbors who previously steamed in the bath! So I pay 870 euros to mop the floor?? My request to oblige the neighbors to remove the coastal bathhouse went unheard!!
Upon arrival, the TV in the living room did not show Russian channels. It was clear from the inscription that the satellite TV had run out of money. Requests to deposit money into a personal account were ignored for half a day! As a result, some maintenance staff brought a card from another cottage, and the TV started working. At the same time, the booking manager also rubbed into me that Swiss people had previously lived, and they hadn't watched Russian TV. Although when I first turned on the TV, it was tuned to RUSSIAN channels. In short, lies at every turn.
As a result, I want to say - do not mess with these cottages. They are no longer worth their money. For this money, you can find a much better, cleaner, neater cottage in Finland, and with a manager who does not bully every SMS, but solves problems (if there are any).
Yes, I would also like to add that with all the above problems, we were obliged to leave on the day of departure at exactly 12:00. Late check-out? No, this is not your option :)) you can't even stay an hour!
I forgot to mention the playground. It is neglected, the wheels are flat on all children's bikes and the playground stinks VERY much from the garbage cans nearby.
Thanks and a ruined weekend!! The cottage is not worth even half the money spent.
We went there with 2 families with children, well, probably 8 times. There are only wonderful memories left. The place, the house, the infrastructure are at a high level. We are waiting for it to be possible again.
We rested in the cottage in September. A pleasant house, deliciously delicious air, next to a lake in which, judging by the splash, there are fish. We had two small children, they asked us to find a second high chair for us, they brought it in 5 minutes! Although initially we were not sure that this was even possible. In general, I liked everything! I recommend it!
We had a rest here with a group of friends, we really liked everything! The house is excellent, there is everything you need, our whole large company is comfortably accommodated. In general, it seemed to us that everything was so thought out that you couldn't think of a better one. There is a lake nearby, boys can go fishing, girls can crackle and "meditate" looking at the water. When we went to get firewood, we found a cool playground, jumped on a trampoline, it's super! And, well, for victims of the 21st century, just like us, there is a great Internet, photos and videos load quickly enough. You can post everything on Instagram so that all your friends get jealous))))

We had a great rest this summer. We lived in a cottage near the lake. Despite the fact that the summer was not the warmest, we still went swimming every day. Then we warmed up in the sauna . The coastal sauna was almost not used, as it was too lazy to do the pumping, but the electric sauna in the cottage helped us out a lot. Turn it on and after 30 minutes you can already go into the sauna and enjoy. We ate blueberries and strawberries. Chanterelles were collected near the house and fried with pleasure. There were few other mushrooms. I talked to people from the next house - it turned out that this year was a lean year for mushrooms. They say that there are usually a lot of whites in these places, but nature, apparently, decided to take a break. The children rode bicycles, jumped on a trampoline and learned to play ping-pong. The cottage would be expensive to rent, but if divided by the number of people, it turns out to be more economical than in a hotel, and the conditions are incomparable. I really liked that everything was already in the holiday cottage. The kitchen is excellent, but of course we often cooked on the grill and on the gas grill. And also, I am delighted with the drying cabinet. It turns out to be so convenient, especially if you are traveling with children. Next summer, just here!
