As a grandmother, I really like the church in Yerevan dedicated to my grandmother Jesus Christ. This is a new church built in 2015 by architect Vahan Movsisyan. The architectural national Armenian style has been preserved! The Church of St. Anna was built next to the very ancient church of the Theotokos Katogike of the XIII century and is similar to it. Inside it is spacious, easy, very bright joyful icons. I came to the church when the sacrament of the wedding was ending there. It was very emotional!
A beautiful new church in the shape of a cross. It's crowded. If you look at the photo, you can see that there is another church here. It is called St. Katogike and was built in 1224.
Most of the churches in Armenia and Yerevan are similar to each other, but this one is very beautiful and bright. And an interesting neighborhood of new and old.
Be sure to visit this place when you are in Yerevan! The church of 2015 is next to the church of the 18th century, present and past. And our FAITH, preserved for centuries.
