An amazing temple! A small church in the center of the city, and behind it the history of epochs and human destinies. The church was consecrated in 1865 in honor of St. Michael the Archangel and since then, in fact, has never been closed. It was there that legendary personalities served: Archpriest Peter Ogitsky, delegate of the Local Council of 1917-1918 and spiritual child of St. John of Kronstadt, Archpriest Konstantin Metelitsa, Archpriest Peter Kalinovsky... In the temple there is a particularly revered image of the Most Holy Theotokos, called the Skoroposlushnitsa. There are burials near the temple. At the north wall: Archpriest Peter Ogitsky, Mother Olga Ogitskaya and their son Dimitri Petrovich Ogitsky, professor at the Moscow Theological Academy, author of the original textbook of the Modern Greek language and monumental studies in the field of comparative theology, as well as an unknown burial. At the southern wall: Priest Joseph Dmitrievich Davidovich and Mother Sofia Iosifovna Stankevich (nee Grigorovich).
Today, the temple lives its rich spiritual and intense social life. Divine services are performed according to the schedule. Since its consecration, the church has been the center of the deanery of the same name - Shchuchinsky church district. The patronal feast day is November 21. November 22 is a celebration in honor of the icon of the Mother of God, called the Skoroposlushnitsa.
