Now there is nothing but ruins here and nature is coming into its own, regaining what was taken from it by man.
🏨 Smecki boarding house or Gulripsh sanatorium
Both buildings of the sanatorium were located on the rose of the winds – the confluence of sea and mountain air, which provided almost ideal conditions for pulmonary patients of the sanatorium.
A luxurious garden with outlandish plants was laid around the sanatorium. Architect Georgy Baronin wrote about it that "this health factory has a touch of castle romance and respectability."
The sanatorium in Gulripsha was named after Lenin in 1921.
Smecki's story was restored and published in the 70s.
At the time of the collapse of the USSR and the beginning of the Georgian-Abkhazian war, the sanatorium was operational, everything worked, and was in excellent condition. During the war, no fighting took place in this territory, but now it looks like it was in the epicenter of hostilities.

The place to visit is completely free and free, you can drive by car or bus, not far uphill from the road, there is not a steep paved road, we were happy to leave the car at the bottom and took a walk.
