Florence is beautiful! Leaving the Santa Maria Novella train station, you find yourself at the temple of the same name. It is worth crossing the road and in front of you is the church in all its glory. Horse racing (palio) took place in the square in front of the temple, just 500 years ago, and Cosimo I de' Medici himself watched them from the Loggia San Paolo, which is opposite the church at the opposite end of the square.
