We had a vacation with my husband in November 2023
The room is large, cleaning every day.

There are a lot of people, we preferred to take a taxi to Xiaodonghai Bay, where the Intercontinental Hotel is, there is a buzz - quiet, peaceful and much fewer people.
The sun beds from the hotel were occupied all the time, but they are far from the water and it was not relevant to us.
I am generally happy with the hotel, but I would choose the Dadonghai Hotel on my next trip.

The hotel is wonderful. Excellent location, good breakfasts, guides work at the reception from morning to 19-20 hours, who will always help you solve any issue. I found three disadvantages - it's very cold water in the pool, Wi-Fi catches only in the room and at the reception, but it's very weak, and (but it's not the hotel's fault) music plays very loudly in the cafe on the shore until 2-3 in the morning, it's impossible to sleep (we lived in building B).

I lived in a room with a balcony and a view of the garden (and a piece of the sea). Honest four stars (for the untalented public). There were a couple of flaws, but these are small things, considering that the road to the sea takes less than a minute.
The breakfasts are not bad, there is a kitchen for every taste.
The actual schedule of the pool has remained a mystery to me. +- from 8 to 18.
👕Be sure to bring a shirt or a cotton sweatshirt (preferably with long sleeves and a hood): you will wear, if you burn, and at the same time aloe gel (to treat burnt and moisturize tanned skin), sunscreen (preferably with spf 50), a panama hat and an umbrella(!). Then you will thank me for the extreme.
🏞️Excursions from the tour operator cost about 300-400 yuan per person, you can get 2 times cheaper from the locals. If you are vacationing with your family, I recommend taking a taxi around everything yourself: you will save a lot of money. A taxi is inexpensive, if you download the Didi app, it will be 2 times cheaper. Bus trips are quite a long event and it is not a fact that you will take the right bus in the right direction and get off at the right stop.
📞By communication. Thunder vpn works here (you can download it through a browser), which is often disabled, so you need to log into the application and turn it on again, but what can you do. We lived in building C on the 2nd floor without a balcony from 04/10/2025 to 04/22/2025. The staff is friendly and happy to help. The disadvantage is the lack of a balcony, as there is nowhere to dry bathing accessories . There are also no beach towels. The breakfasts are delicious, but monotonous. There is no meat or fish on the menu. The territory of the swimming pool and gym is open from 10 a.m. There are also 2 swimming pools with fish that pinch dead skin for free. The gym is very "weak". Everything is within walking distance. We also used public transport.

The pool is open from 10 to 22, break from 13-15. On the same territory there is a small gym, behind it a children's playground in poor condition, toilets (dirty).
There are several umbrellas and sun beds on the beach. At first, vacationers from neighboring hotels were located here, but in the last two days of our vacation, they began to check the availability of our hotel card. If you are going only for swimming, then I do not recommend going to this bay, since the "whistlers-rescuers" will not let you swim. There is a designated area and you can stay in the water only there.

We booked a hotel at the Russian Express. A free transfer from the airport and back. Everything is great.
Now about the hotel itself. We really liked the location, the attitude of the staff, the food, the room, and overall everything is great. DON't be afraid to take case C. It has just been renovated, the elevator is now there, everything is clean, there is no smell. Yes, a view of the backyard of the Pineapple shopping center, but are we really going to sit in a room? It doesn't make any difference to us, we left in the morning and came to sleep in the room in the evening. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning. Then the sea, then a massage in Phoenix, then walks and lunch at the famous Panda. The pool was cleaned well, there are no complaints.
About the massage. We found our massage therapist Dima. Of all the people we came across, he is the only one who really knows the techniques of traditional Chinese massage. I read reviews that you need to go outside, that it's cheaper and better there. Don't believe it!!! The price in terms of quality is about the same. This time we were not too lazy, we went around several centers on the street, unsanitary conditions and low level of services. Like that.
The Chinese are on the move all day, and you want to move with them too.

As a result, they were forced to occupy sun beds at 6 a.m., but still then "their" ones lie on the sand (fortunately, there is enough shade from palm trees for everyone)or by the pool, where the controls are strict. And on the sun beds-who is more brazen. In principle, there are few sun beds, but given the fact that everyone goes here..
And yet - there seems to be a beach with nudists nearby, but it is fenced, they are peaceful, they do not participate in the fight for a sunbed, they hang out quietly by themselves. If you look at the sea, you won't notice them. On the 4th day, we just realized what kind of people are nearby

We had a rest from March 11 to March 23. We flew Hainan Airlines to Haikou. After arrival, we sat at the airport for up to 5 hours. Tourist buses are prohibited from traveling at night on the expressway. Almost everyone was napping during the transfer. The tourists were from three hotels that are very close- South China, Dadonghai and Harman. We were at the hotel at 9.20. We still had time for breakfast. You have to adapt to food. They make everything bland, add the sauces themselves. There is no salt there. There are no teaspoons to stir the sugar. There is a choice of food. Boiled vegetables, vegetables with meat, rice, noodles, several egg options, sausages, soups and porridges are mandatory. Pastries, pies, some fried tubes with stuffing, steamed pies. Coffee from the coffee machine (it takes a very long time to pour, there are always queues).
Room 3426 was checked in immediately. An early check-in was purchased in advance. Excellent room on the top floor of building B, overlooking the garden and the sea. The bathroom has no transparent wall, which was complained about in other hotels. The beds were moved together, and there was a sleeping place for three adults. And with a margin. If you find fault, there are dark-colored circassians on the walls, there was clearly a bed there. It didn't matter to us. And the size of the room was good, and everything worked, there was nothing to cling to. There are clothes dryers and a table with chairs on the balcony. In the bathroom, there were toothbrushes with toothpaste and combs in a box. The shower didn't leak or leak anywhere.
The hotel guide has never refused to help, absolutely anyone. And they didn't really insist on buying excursions. Our guide Peter works for two hotels - South China and Dadonghai.
There were always not enough sun beds on the beach, too few. Our tourists also like to come at night, tie a scarf or put a towel on the sun beds, and come in the morning only at 12-13 o'clock.
The sea was cool. It's difficult to enter right away. But you get used to it. On the day of departure, it warmed up well, I went in right away. There was no sun at all for several days. But we were sunbathing.
There is a separate paddock on the beach for the naked Chinese. They treat eczema like that. A policeman came the last few days and forced them to pull on their underpants🤣 Apparently someone complained.
Everything is fine with the food in the DDH. You can eat at the food court or in small restaurants. There are many places you can get to by public transport. This bay is the cheapest of all. And yes, there are inscriptions in Russian everywhere, even the signs on the road.

There is a park near the hotel. There's exercise in the morning, and a lot of dancing groups in the evening. Choreographers are working, you can join anyone. Even the movements will be set.
If you walk through the park, there are two shopping malls Winter and Summer behind it. We went there for shopping, excursions and souvenirs. They also sell fruits nearby.
We were picked up back from the hotel 10 hours before departure. At 6 p.m. We paid for the last night in vain. We met a family there. They flew with us and stayed in the same hotel. They vacated the room at 12 p.m. and took the same flight.
However, their tour was shorter.
We were at the airport at 11 p.m., 2 hours before check-in. They just stood at the counters. Only one of our flights took off at night. They take it out very early. It is better to take a separate transfer. Otherwise it is very tedious.
We went on excursions from street agencies: Li and Miao Village, Red Women's Squad show, Nanshan, Romantic Park. I liked everything. The Deer turned its head to the park on its own (there is a 55 bus to the terminal, boarding on the opposite side from the Pineapple).

We took towels from the hotel and sunbathed on them, as there are very few sun beds. The sand is clean, but almost everyone was bitten by insects. The bites are painful, itchy and take a long time to heal. The hotel itself looks dreary. Rooms with old furniture. Noisy air conditioner. The safe didn't work, it was done on the second attempt. The breakfasts are very bad. I'm not harmful, but for the first time I saw a very small assortment. The food is cold. Cabbage with chicken bones is something. There was only 1 kind of sausage, and that was soy, fu. Fruits were watermelon and bananas only. There are still many disadvantages, it takes a long time to write. I definitely do not recommend this hotel.

In the evening, there was just a terrible itching, the bites swelled, liquid formed, and it all burst. Our room is 8709, the view is excellent of the sea, mountains and park. The hotel staff claim that it is a midge on the beach, we claim it is a bed midge. The vacation was ruined, we barely made it home. The itching is terrible. The breakfasts were monotonous, but they were not hungry. All the fruits were not ripe- watermelon, melon. The territory of the hotel is well-groomed, green, minus the construction of two facilities. There was no silence, then the drill was working, then something was falling with a crash.

Moreover, the music is different - with real basses - carried from different places at the same time. Therefore, if you like to relax in your room like at a disco, then this hotel is for you :)) On the beach, hotel sun beds are occupied by everyone who is not lazy - the hotel staff does not monitor this. And there are not enough sun loungers for guests of South China. The food at breakfast is not bad, but very monotonous. There are often not enough devices. One of the advantages is natural coffee from a coffee machine (not bad!). The staff is friendly. Linen and towels are changed, everything is fresh.
