"There are no random, ill-conceived lines in the monument.
From the pedestal ... from basalt blocks and embodying the harsh nature of Armenia, water pours from an overturned bowl.
In Armenian folklore, she has always been associated with the idea of life, of power.
David's pastoral clothes – the clothes of a man of work, not a warrior – makes us recall the history of Armenia, in which the creative work of the people was so often interrupted by invaders.
The need to defend the independence of their homeland forced the peasant, the artisan, the shepherd to take up arms" (https://zen.yandex.ru/media/hayk_media/pochemu-david-sasunskii-iavliaetsia-sivolom-armenii-5d8e03db2fda8600b2d39188)
This is the most beautiful monument of a horseman on a horse, which differs from many, but monotonous similar monuments around the world!
I've always liked this monument. There is dynamism and power in this genre sculpture - this miracle was definitely created by Great and Talented Masters (sculptor Yervand Kochar and architect Mikael Mazmanyan).
The station square of Yerevan. What can I tell you about her? You need to visit here. Everyone who visits here for the first time, do not miss the monument to David Sasunsky, the hero of the Armenian epic, standing here.
The monument itself is the work of the artist and sculptor Yervand Kochar, a completely unique person and master. There is his house museum in the city, go there. Look at the works of the Armenian Salvador Dali.
I remember a book about this epic of the Armenian people from my childhood. I've always wanted to see this monument with my own eyes. And my wish came true!) I think everyone knows the feeling when you get what you wanted!)) Anything is possible! One has only to really want to!

The majestic monument, next to the railway station, is a great place to make appointments. Nearby fountains with drinking water are very convenient, especially in the sweltering heat of Yerevan...
The symbol of the city and its business card. As soon as you step onto the forecourt, the first thing that catches your eye is a 12.5-meter sculptural composition surrounded by pool water. Impulse, tension, passion, strength, beauty - everything is in this sculpture! The hero of the national epic of the 8th-10th centuries, a shepherd (not a warrior!) David is depicted at the decisive moment of the battle with the leader of the invaders, Msra-melik.... In his hands is the legendary lightning sword; tamed by him, the furious fairy-tale horse has already leaped up, overturning the cup (a symbol of the patience of the Armenian people). In another moment, the enemy will be defeated, the people will be liberated. The pride and power captured in the sculpture makes a great impression on those who see the monument for the first time.
It was in the summer, there is something to see besides the square. Nature is radically different from Russia. Mountains and clear sky, monumental architecture, many ancient churches, active monasteries
People are very friendly. Lake Sevan is like a small clear sea among the mountains.
The monument to the hero of the Armenian epic David Sasunsky, erected in 1959 by sculptor Yervand Kochar on the station square in Yerevan, is one of the most recognizable symbols of the Armenian capital.
