We had a family vacation on December 23, 24 to January 02, 25. We spent a long time choosing a place to live, in this case a guesthouse, and we were not mistaken at all. Very nice and friendly family of Anjou, Dinache, Surange. The beach is 150-200 m away, and the main street is a couple of steps away. It's a very quiet place, we woke up in the morning to the mewing of peacocks, squirrels running on the roofs, monkeys jumping in the trees far away, but this is also a plus. A gecko came to visit in the evening, but no other animals were seen. Deluxe room 2 on the 3rd floor. It is very convenient that you can buy water in the guest and exchange dollars at a good exchange rate. You can do it without leaving the cash register))) to go on an excursion, they will be guided by Anjou. And of course, it's a huge plus that Anjou speaks Russian well, Surange to a lesser extent, but speaks English well. Breakfasts, they are of the same type for Sri Lanka, I took smoked sausage and cheese with me from the Russian Federation, my boys had enough for the whole period with omelets for breakfast. We had lunch and dinner in Peacock, I recommend trying cuttlefish from them, my son ate it during the entire vacation period. During our period, the ocean was choppy for the first five days. Remember, even in the calm bay of Unawatuna, going into the ocean is not a problem, but getting out can be problematic. There are reverse currents, so I do not recommend swimming. Overall, I really liked the country and the ocean. Would this hotelier have returned? Definitely yes!!!! All that remains is to catch tickets to Colombo worth 30,000 rubles in both directions. By the way, I contacted Anju in advance and brought gifts to him and his family, he has 2 little girls, 1 and 4 years old. If you suddenly decide to make a gift to the host of the guest - good Russian vodka. I saw a collection of empty bottles in his house. I definitely recommend it, it's a very pleasant and warm feeling of relaxation.
Hotel- guest house See Breeze. We were with a friend in February 2025.
I liked everything.
The owner himself greets Anji. Speaks excellent Russian.
We settled first on the ground floor. Despite the fact that there were two beds in the room, the very location of the room and the interior layout are inconvenient. We asked for another room and were transferred to the 3rd floor the next day. The room is bright, fresh, and clean.
Vacationers at other hotels complained of mosquitoes, bugs, and a non-functioning air conditioner. Everything was great with us in this regard. We slept in silence and in the cool. The water pressure is good even on the 3rd floor.
There are floor scales at the reception. Suitcases can be checked for weight before departure.
The breakfast was monotonous, from 8.00 to 10.00. A plate of fruit, toasts, coffee/tea, and an egg dish to choose from (menu in the last photo). It's good that there's a new refrigerator in the room. You can bring some of the products with you from Russia.
It is very convenient that dollars can be exchanged with the owners, water can be bought cheaper than in stores, and the hostess can order sewing / repair of clothes. I saw one girl putting things in the laundry right at the hotel.
And go on a field trip with Angie. He has his own travel agency and the prices are lower. The main thing is that he accompanies you from the hotel, takes lunch boxes for everyone, treats you to tea/ coffee in a cafe on the way, distributes bananas for a snack. He tells interesting things and answers questions in the role of a guide.
About where you can eat. We first went to a cafe based on reviews. Next to the hotel, they went out through the back gate and turned there at the first turn to the right. There's a big Taco King sign. We ate well. There is no 10% markup, as in the cafes on the shopping and entertainment street. But something didn't suit us. Both the taste of the food and the portions are small. And we found another cafe, it's not on the Yandex map. Most of the people who eat there are English, or rather English-speaking. If you go to the highway, this is the road where intercity buses run – Crazy basses. So, there are 2 cafes not reaching the road. There's a 2-storey building right on the road, we didn't go in there, there's pizza. And next to it, we need to enter the courtyard, as it were, there is just that cafe CHAMI, which we liked. And clean and polite, there is no extra charge. The main thing is delicious. (photos are attached).
Important! The hotel has two exits. The main one is where we went to the main road, if you turn left at the fork. And to the beach, if you go to the right.
But there's also a back exit. Who can tell you about him? If only the vacationers themselves will share. From this exit you can access the shopping street. Everything is very close. As soon as you enter the shopping street, there are 2 cafes on the left, they are opposite each other. There are usually a lot of people there in the evenings. We would try grilled seafood. We regretted that we didn't go there. There are a lot of people, I think it's delicious there. We looked at the prices, which are very affordable.
If you turn left along the bus road, you can walk to the Food City grocery store in 1- 1.5 km. we bought coconut oil at home and many other things. (in the photo)
I recommend the See Breeze Guest House. If we go again, it will only be to this hotel. Only to Angie and his hospitable family.
Thank you so much for the warm attitude and the quality of the services.
A wonderful guesthouse with a good owner (I solved all issues promptly). The location is excellent, a couple of minutes to the main street and 5 minutes to the beach. It takes 10-15 minutes to get to Aralia slowly. I rested at the beginning of July 24. I took the standard room, when the air conditioner broke down, the owner of Anzhi moved without additional charges to the deluxe (pictured), it is better for couples to take these rooms, the standard will be too cramped, the second floor is the best. This is not a hotel, you do not need to expect conditions like in a hotel! A modest non-varied breakfast, it seems to me better to book without breakfast and take tea and coffee with you, there is a kettle in the rooms. We took a 2-day tour from the owner, we really liked it, everything was organized with dignity. There is a great Taco bar nearby, price and quality. There was a downpour for 10 days of rest. In general, I really enjoyed my vacation in Sri Lanka. The only drawback is that there is no hair dryer in the rooms.
