We rested in the village of Ichmeler, near Marmaris in October 2023. We decided to rent a car to drive on our own and see the sights. Having started looking for a car in the village itself, we faced inflated prices, because the resort area is still. The local car cost $ 50 a day and the mileage limit was 300 km. Without hesitation, we started looking at options on the Internet - which would suit the price and, accordingly, the kilometers that you can drive by car by renting it. Stumbled upon Seaside car rental https://www.seasidecar.com The company's office is located in Marmaris, you can get there by minibus - 20-25 minutes We were met by the owner Ahmet Kemal. I will immediately indicate that you will have to communicate in English. During the conversation, we explained our price range, talked about an approximate route (we had Pamukkale as an intermediate point, 300 km from Marmaris in one direction and, accordingly, back, we had not yet decided on the final point at that time - we were thinking where else to go). They also talked about mileage restrictions - the owner's answer is 3000 km per day (for the particularly gifted, they typed this figure on a calculator that was lying on the table). Initially, we were offered a Citroen C3 car with a manual gearbox, the cost is $ 35 per day. But later in the evening, the owner of this company contacted us and offered to take a Hyundai i20 with an automatic transmission for $ 5 more expensive, we decided to agree to this offer. On the day of the planned trip, they drove the car directly to the hotel, issued all the necessary documents (the documents were two pieces of paper - the first indicated the driver's data, the driver's name, the address of residence, the debit card number, the second was the so-called act of acceptance and transfer of the car with an indication of damage) once again, everyone talked, once again clarified the mileage and price. I want to draw your attention to the fact that if you rent a car, I can drive it to you with an almost empty tank of gasoline, we had enough to get to the gas station. Next, refueling is at your expense. The car was refueled and left satisfied. I won't go into details, we got to Pamukkale, everything was fine, after walking there, it was a nice decision to go further (because time allowed) to Antalya. I note that we are in another country - we had no free Wi-Fi connection except for Wi-Fi. Having reached Antalya, there was a need to update online maps, went to a cafe, connected to the local Wi-Fi. And then the "situation sur" began, opening the vats app - we saw a huge number of missed calls from the owner of the rental car. We called back, in his broken English, he began to say that we had stolen his car, because they said that we would go to Pamukkale, but left for Antalya and that he had reported the car theft to the police, gendarmerie and everyone was already looking for us. With grief in half, we managed to calm down a very suspicious person - we explained to him, for a moment - the same thing was said in the office that we decided to continue our trip and get to Antalya. Naturally, after this conversation, the mood was spoiled and we decided to go home (to the hotel). On the morning of the next day, the owner of the rental car arrived - they silently betrayed the keys and then the hysterics began again. Looking at the speedometer, he saw that we had driven 1000 km, we absolutely calmly tell him "so you can drive 3000 km in a day", it turned out that it was impossible. After taking out the documents, the same two pieces of paper - on the second sheet where we examined the car and signed meeeeeeeeeeeee in small font at the very end, the mileage limits of 300 km per day were indicated. For all our arguments and agreements that were reached with him earlier, he had only screams and threats from the police and everything possible, in return he asked for another $ 40 from above. Since I didn't want to spoil my vacation at all, and of course there was an understanding that we were in another country - after half an hour of arguments, it was decided to give this hysterical person this $ 40 Well, to summarize - if you want to spoil your vacation, give extra money to you here https://www.seasidecar.com
