If I understood correctly, this is a monument to the Victory of the Seljuks. In 1076, Sultan Suleiman Shah declared Konya the capital of the Seljuks and until 1277 it remained the main city of the Seljuk empire. The monument is covered with replicas of tiles that can be seen in the Karatai Museum.
