I passed the Canon 70D mirror unit No. 3112442 for diagnostics. After the fall, something moved in the area of the pentaprism, which is why the sharpness in the viewfinder slightly, but noticeably, began to display incorrectly (everything is fine in the photo). I work with manual optics, so the problem is relevant. The diagnosis lasted a week. The girl on the phone said "fee recovery", which is strange. I was outraged and asked the engineer to clarify, after which I received more plausible information, restoration of the mirror-box and configuration. The repair is not cheap, but I agreed. Another week has passed, I'm calling to find out the condition, they tell me that a repair is not possible, the entire node needs to be replaced, costing almost half of the device itself without a lens. He refused to repair it, went to pick it up. When checking, a scratched drum wheel was found, the spring of the card slot cover came off, the lining on the case (all) completely fell off, and dirt and finger marks in the viewfinder. The spring was installed in 10 minutes. on the spot, they said about the pads that you need to order new ones during repairs, although you could have spent a couple of minutes and put them on a two-sided tape, the dirt was found upon arrival home.
A written conclusion on the diagnosis was not offered, the price of the service is 360 UAH.
I am not satisfied with the service. Personally, I am distrustful. The phrase "fee recovery" is especially mysterious.
There might not have been a sediment if there had been diagnostic results described in detail on paper, reliable information about the breakdown on the phone, and the engineer who disassembled my camera would have been more careful, attentive and accurate.
