The monastery is part of the UNESCO heritage, so there are a lot of tourists from all over the world. It takes only an hour to get from Yerevan to Sevanavank. We were in the evening, at this time it is very quiet and cozy here, you can enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Sevan, take pictures quietly, without crowds. To climb to the monastery, you need to overcome a steep stone staircase of 230 steps. It is rumored that if a pilgrim ascends it three times, it is equated to a visit to Mecca.
A place of peace, prayed for centuries!
You can get to the monastery by minibus from the southern bus station for 1,500 AMD and walk a little way from the highway. The place is beautiful, but there are too many tourists. The buses arrive one by one. They are allowed into one church, the second is closed, the third is destroyed. But with such a stream of people, you can't pray. Everyone is trying to sell you something. It's worth going just for the beautiful views of Sevan from the observation decks.
A very beautiful place!
Magical pleasure boats on the background of mountains.
For fans of haikink, you can climb the steps to the temple.
There are shops and restaurants.
We were with a guide on a Monday in December, there are only a few people besides us. The height is 1900m. I really liked it. The temple of the 9th century. The view of the lake and the mountains is simply amazing, no photos convey what you can see there live. The combination of mountain snow peaks with the coastline around the perimeter of the lake is amazing.
03/18/2025 I went to an excision with Hyur. To Lake Sevan, Dilijan, everything is well organized, excellent driver Spartak and guide Eduard, everything is at the highest level!!!
A beautiful place that smells of history and mysticism. The monastery has an interesting location on the peninsula and the monastery offers an incredible view of Lake Sevan.
Sevanavank, which translates quite simply as "Monastery on Sevan", has been destroyed more than once and rebuilt more than once throughout its centuries–old history. In the mid-1950s, the monastery buildings of Sevanavank were completely reconstructed, valuable elements from a historical point of view went to museums, and copies took their place. It is crowded here, so it is advisable to choose the morning hours for visiting, when sightseeing buses have not yet started arriving at the monastery.
It's a very beautiful place. The views are indescribably beautiful. A functioning church, with friendly staff. Everyone needs to visit this miracle at least once in their life.
It's a cool place. Great views!
Be sure to bring warm clothes with you.
In Yerevan it can be plus 20-25, at an altitude of 2,000 m it can easily be plus five cold wind and fog.
It's a beautiful place. It's probably not pretty. The views are crazy. The church itself is also very beautiful. I was there that year and decided to return there. A must-visit.
The beauty and vastness, the power and energy emanating from every stone from the former buildings to the temples erected. Everything is filled with splendor and centuries-old power .
You need to come here, take photos and leave. Next to the monastery, the most interesting thing is a dog with 10 puppies. The recreation center near the monastery looks abandoned, there are no people, a lot of garbage.
The cape itself is amazing, the view of the lake is 360 degrees, there is a place to meditate. The temple itself is modest, austere, and dark. The climb is not the most convenient, if you get into the season at all, probably do not disperse on the narrow steps.
Well, Sevanavank. The mastologist. More precisely, the peninsula must be visited.
Almost the whole of Sevan is visible. And, by the way, it is bigger than Moscow within the MKAD. Before the annexation of New Moscow, it was larger than Moscow in area.
A picturesque place. Climbing up the many steps to Sevanovank, you can enjoy an incredible view of Sevan. The monasteries themselves are not very remarkable, let's just say there are many of them all over Armenia. You can put a candle in temples, but it is better to buy it near the monastery, and not at the foot of the stairs, it is much more expensive there. Souvenirs are located along the length of the stairs, and Mir cards are accepted in several places. The toilet near the temple is paid, the visit to the monastery is free.
Place of power)
Previously, the monastery was on the island, now that the level in Sevan has become lower, it is already a peninsula.
There are steps leading to the monastery. There are a lot of them and that's the beauty of it too. There are rest areas during the ascent.
The monastery itself has survived its former glory and greatness, now there are only a couple of churches and the foundations of buildings, which now only remind of themselves with these foundations.
But the view around is simply amazing. The color of the lake is azure, around the mountains, clouds and some kind of endless expanse.
It's very cool.
A beautiful place with a changeable climate.
Monuments of Armenian architecture and the Armenian Church. A very nice, beautiful and spiritually rich place. Come and admire
A very beautiful place with a wonderful view of Lake Sevan. Be sure to visit when you are in Armenia. On the way from Yerevan, sea buckthorn and pomegranate juices are sold along the road, I also recommend it.
Temple on Lake Sevan. It's a beautiful place, an attraction, and there are always a lot of tourists.

It's an amazing place. The lake at an altitude of 2000m looks incredible. I really liked both the place and the country. I definitely recommend going at least once in my life
The monastery is located on the shore, surrounded by the expanses of the lake, which, by the way, is very large. In April, it is still cool and there is practically no greenery. The architecture, as in the whole country, is strict and at the same time monolithic and unshakable, it will stand for the same amount of time. It is better to choose the time for swimming closer to August. Purely for the sake of Sevanak, I do not recommend going, but I recommend the intermediate stage to Dilijan :)
The most beautiful views! A holy place! But do not buy a moonstone near the monastery, either by itself or products made from it - a fake at an inflated price.
We were here at the end of October 2024. Monastery on the shore of Sevan, beautiful view. Nearby is the writer's house, a Soviet-era building in the style of constructivism, which is also interesting to look at.
There is no way to describe this place with candles. It is a holy place, and the beauty and landscape cannot be described in words. I promise a burst of energy. A beautiful church. Visit this holy place by faith and pray from the bottom of your heart.
