I was here as part of a group tour from Hyur Service. You can buy a souvenir coin in the machine as a keepsake, accepts only a 1000 AMD bill and does not give change. Despite the bad weather and heavy rain, I climbed the steps to the temple. I think the views here are even more stunning in good weather
It is a cool place in terms of energy, but like almost all attractions in Armenia, it is aimed at making money. Starting from the parking lot, they pester with alms and the sale of candles. I am glad that the traders on the stairs are unobtrusive.

A picturesque place, if you want to have a good time and take a walk, then you are here.
It's a great place, you can feel its greatness. Having eaten a shish kebab at the foot of the temple, I had no strength to climb higher) and the view of Sevan is for millions

The place is beautiful, but not impressed. Perhaps because. that he was the last to visit it, after several other churches and a couple of nights by the lake.
It was inconvenient to walk uphill in the heat from the parking lot.
A fabulous and very atmospheric place. Embodies all the beauty of Armenia. A must-visit (especially at sunset) with a further stop in Sevan at one of the hotels on the shore.
An excellent Monastery on Lake Sevan. Nearby there are various restaurants, holiday homes for every taste. The wind blows strongly in this place at any time of the year. Therefore, the temperature is different from the one below
The most beautiful place. When we got there, even the beauty of the scenery took my breath away. Of course, it is impossible to bypass the ancient chapel that stands here.
The pearl of Armenia, the miraculous miracle of Lake Sevan!.. "The most beautiful of the highlands and the most beautiful of the highlands" is how the Armenians proudly speak about him. We were greeted by a fairly strong wind from the lake and the hot sun. The water in the lake is always cold. On a sunny day, blue sapphire, on a cloudy day, dark lead. From the monastery, built in the IX century, only two temples remain – Surb Arakelots (Temple of the Apostles) and Surb Astvatsatsin (Temple of the Virgin). The buildings of the churches were built of solid black tuff stones, hence, it is believed, the name of the monastery "Sevanavank" — "Black Monastery".The island (and now the peninsula) with the Black Monastery were repeatedly raided by the enemy: Arabs, hordes of Tamerlane, Persians, etc. Two black temples of Sevan stand deserted, like two guardians of this ancient lake. And in front of them stretches the blue of the sky /sea. The landscape around is fascinating: mountains surround the lake from all sides, snow-capped peaks can be seen disappearing over the horizon. I still don't understand how our leaders did it, but suddenly I started singing in silence, no! Duduk began to cry. Someone whispered: "This is Komitas, "Dle Yaman"... We, boys and girls from many corners of the Soviet Union, stood, thinking, listening to the Great Cry of the unfortunate genius composer. What was everyone thinking about? I don't know. But certainly not about the fact that the fateful year 1988 is about to break out for Armenia… And the Karabakh fire will break out, and Spitak will be wiped off the face of the earth. For Yaman…
Sevanavank is a complex of buildings of an ancient monastery located on the Sevan peninsula of the same name, which was previously a small island.
The first churches of St. Karapet and St. Harutyun (Church of the Ascension) were built here in the IV century on the site of a pagan temple.
At the end of the 8th century, several monks settled on the island of Sevan, who built their cells and chapel here. Due to the advantageous position of the island, their number increased, and the active construction of the monastery began. To build walls, a ledge was cut into the rock around the island, on which large stone blocks were laid. A wall encircled the island, and a watchtower with a gate was built above it. After that, the monks built three churches, cells and outbuildings.
In the XVI-XVII centuries, the walls of the monastery were destroyed, and in 1930 the last monk left the island.
Now the monastery has been reopened, with a theological seminary operating.
Small three-apse cross-domed churches of St. Arakelots (874) and St. Karapet(305) have been preserved to this day. They offer a beautiful view of Lake Sevan stretching to the horizon.
A very interesting attraction on the shore of Lake Sevan. The complex of the ancient monastery of the IX century is located on the peninsula. The views of the mountains and the lake are breathtaking. Parking is 200 AMD. The rest (Excursion, pigeon launch, souvenirs) is optional. Admission is free, so no one cleans up the garbage.
It is a very beautiful place with local Armenian architecture. The ascent to the top, where the temple is located, takes about 10 minutes-there are a lot of steps. The object itself is located at an altitude of about 100 meters above the level of Lake Sevan.
