The hotel is very nice, I recommend it!
The rooms are clean, the mattresses are excellent, the food is delicious, the large pool, the beach is sandy, clean, the sun beds are paid, the ocean is always restless, but the children were bathed every day under supervision! The territory is well maintained, green, small.
The hotel is quiet and safe. On the top floor you can enjoy the views of the ocean and palm trees, drink a cocktail and watch the sunset. There is a children's room, but it is modest.
We celebrated the New Year here! The guys are super prepared! Everything is decorated, photo zone, delicious food and drinks, fireworks!
Nearby there is a turtle farm and a mini plantation garden. It takes about 15 minutes to get there with a breeze on a tuk-tuk.
The staff is friendly, everyone is ready to help.

Choose Sheraton! It feels like home here! Attentive and friendly staff, spacious rooms with ocean views and fantastic sunsets.

Golden Beach is clean and deserted. There is a turtle farm on the beach to the right of the hotel. Here, local fishermen pull the seine in the morning and you can participate in this folk craft, buy fresh fish from them, and then cook it on the grill. Walking along the beach is a pleasure for those who are afraid of waves: there is a place to the left of the hotel where the stones protect from the waves … There is a cafe on the beach where you can drink freshly squeezed juice and swing on a swing. The ocean is exciting, but there is a huge swimming pool, yoga, aqua aerobics, volleyball, gym, children's pool, folklore shows, live music in the evenings.
We came for 10 days with the aim of going on excursions, but we were captured by the relaxing atmosphere. I didn't want to leave the hotel. They indulged in relaxation and lazy relaxation. We also had dinner at the hotel: fresh tuna, lobster, crabs. What else do you need for a wonderful vacation!

We stayed at this hotel in March 2025. Everything was very pleasant, the rooms were clean and spacious. Nice warm pool, there are always free sun beds. But even if you suddenly don't have enough, you can come up and ask for more.
I do not recommend going to this hotel with children, as they will be bored there, and the menu is mostly spicy and spiced.
The food is varied, there is a lot of seafood (crabs, shrimps, squid, mussels). The fruits are seasonal (pineapple and papaya were delicious). The ocean is warm, but there have always been small waves.
Near the entrance to the beach, we met a good guide, Amal. He took us by tuk tuk to Bentota (there is a beautiful Buddha temple, a Spice Garden and many different shops). The round trip is only $5.

The hotel is located in the village of Kosgoda. This is not a tourist destination. A relaxing break from the hustle and bustle. Local buses can be used to reach the tourist areas. Very cheap. There is an Uber. But the most common transport among tourists is a tuk-tuk. Regularly used Sarat's services (whatsapp +94 77 080 5223 ). He speaks Russian. He can arrange any excursions, including by car. I recommend.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days. We had half board – breakfast and dinner.
It should be noted the original greetings of the guests upon check-in. They are greeted in the national style - with a drum and a dancing girl. Very unexpected and pleasant.

Our room had a private pool. The pool was cleaned every day.
The room was cleaned every day with a change of bed linen and towels. Bottled water was always present in the room. There was a small refrigerator in the room, which is very convenient.
The food in the hotel is of a high standard. This is a credit to the hotel's chef team. The food was varied. Meat dishes (beef, pork, lamb, chicken), fish, various seafood. A large selection of salads. Fruits alternated – watermelon, papaya, pineapple, guava and passion fruit. But they were always in the diet. There was a large selection of pastries.
It should be noted that the food is mostly spicy, but you can always find what you like and what suits you.
The staff at the restaurant was always friendly and performed their duties well.
The hotel has a swimming pool for adults and children. The area is equipped with sun beds and umbrellas. The pool is clean. There are showers. There is a bar at the pool.
Water aerobics takes place every day. In the evening, you can play volleyball.
As such, the hotel does not have a beach. But outside the hotel there is a clean coastal area equipped with private sun beds and an umbrella. This is for a fee.
But I want to say that the southwest coast is a constant wave.
And those who want to swim in the calm ocean are not here.
The hotel has a jewelry store. Feel free to bargain and get a discount of at least 30%. And it's cheaper than in factories where they can take you.

The hotel does not pull for 5*, a maximum of 4* is a small area, there is nowhere to walk, even there is no path around the hotel.
The food is varied: fish, chicken, shrimp, pork, beef. There are a lot of sweets for every taste - we preferred the classics.
Fruits: bananas, pineapple, papaya, watermelon, melon.
The weather was mostly cloudy, which is not quite typical for this time of year (12/30-08.01), very active sun - SPF 50+ sunscreens are mandatory, large waves in the ocean, it was not always possible to swim.
There are no activities or entertainment for adults, there is a children's room, a SPA - we haven't tried it.
The location is very far from the airport (3 hours), and all the attractions are also about 2-5 hours away. We were in Colombo - 2 hours one way, and 2 hours back, there is nothing to see. There is no shuttle service from the hotel. The Buddhist temple is made as a museum of junk.
There is a turtle farm nearby, you can touch and hold it.

I solved all the issues quickly and efficiently. Satya, respect to you!!!
I would like to give a special place of honor to the Bandu guide - we found it based on the recommendations of vacationers (i.e.+94 77 783 6537 ). He is a man of expressive charisma, an expert in his field and, of course, a FRIEND! We went on several excursions with him.: we visited Mount ELLA, fed the monkeys, visited the tea plantation and turtle farm, the Ayurvedic museum, visited the BUDDHA Temple and the river safari). And everywhere the Gang showed itself only from the best side. We traveled in his comfortable Toyota car, which was always clean and smelled good!!! Bandu is an excellent organizer and storyteller, speaks excellent Russian, which is not unimportant!
In general, the hotel, all the staff, and of course SATYA and BANDU, left only positive emotions in our hearts.

We visited in November 2023. It's a great place. A huge deserted beach. No one but birds and crabs. There is a turtle farm nearby. It's a curious place. We stayed at the hotel from 04/10/2024 to 04/19/2024 with a family of 2 adults. + 3 reb.
I really liked the rest, the hotel is located in a secluded place and there were practically no people at our check-in (except for a couple of group arrivals for a couple of days, then it was noisy and parties), but the rest of the time we were almost alone. The beach is gorgeous, the ocean is incomparable (swimming of course is unlikely to work, but the children screamed with delight, diving into the waves and floundering there), sunsets...Excursions can be taken from a local guide (meets at the entrance to the beach) in comfortable minivans will offer different excursions and take you anywhere, much cheaper than through a tour operator, except for massage, massage in the hotel is much better, but also more expensive, respectively.
The hotel itself is also good, by Sri standards, probably one of the best, excellent mattresses and pillows, everything is clean, the cleaning is good, the staff is polite, a proud monitor lizard walks around the territory and all sorts of iguanas and chameleons are small, it is not a party and without animation, but we already had enough impressions. There is a river nearby, we were worried that it would stink, but no..It wasn't the cleanest, but there was no smell, even though the windows looked right at it.

The ocean, the deserted sandy beach and the unique nature! Morning walks along the ocean are the most wonderful thing to remember for a long time!
About the hotel: it stands alone surrounded by a tropical forest. And it's wonderful if you really decide to take a break from the hustle and reboot. The hotel is from 2012, but it looks tired. The rooms are normal and spacious enough. But there is, but Be careful when booking: 0, 1, 2 floor - garden view (ground floor is very much for an amateur - there is no balcony, the Windows overlook the pedestrian zone and the pool, it smells damp). 3, 4, 5 floors - sea view, everything is much more pleasant here. All rooms have a transparent partition between the bathroom and the bedroom, but there is an automatic curtain (remote control on the wall near the bathtub). The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The room has a kettle and tea/coffee/sugar bags, ironing facilities, hairdryer. In the bathroom there are cosmetics: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body cream. There are no cotton pads or sticks, and no other hygiene supplies. There is a table and 2 armchairs on the balconies, there are no dryers for swimsuits.
Room cleaning according to some incomprehensible schedule - we were cleaned at 4-5 o'clock in the afternoon, a sign asking us to clean the room did not help.
❗️Take with you or immediately ask at the reception for an adapter for sockets (in Sri Lanka, sockets of the English type, with 3 holes).
✔️Food: very specific cuisine. The variety seems to be great, but there are a lot of spicy dishes. Tea bags in the main restaurant, the coffee is terrible. The coffee at the pool restaurant is just as terrible.

✔Beach by the ocean: opposite the exit to the beach there are several umbrellas with sun beds - this service is paid, this beach does not apply to the hotel. The cost is 1000 rupees per hour for an umbrella and two sun beds (~ 300 rubles). There are local shops with beach accessories and a local massage (does not apply to the hotel).
✔️The nature is magical, real tropics. Fantastically beautiful bluebirds, monitor lizards, geckos, peacocks, parrots that arrive in a large flock at dawn and before sunset.
About excursions: Sri Lanka is unusual and beautiful, there is something to see).
✔️About evening entertainment: there are none in the hotel, only beautiful sunsets are distributed)

The hotel pleasantly surprised us. The room is spacious and clean. If there were problems, they contacted the reception - sometimes the problem was solved immediately, sometimes they needed to be reminded, but they solved it anyway. Special thanks to the reception staff of Marlon and Irshad. We were at the end of the season (mid-April), so there were few people in the hotel, which is an undoubted plus. The food is varied. Breakfasts and dinners were included. Meals were taken on the menu for an additional fee, so it is much more profitable. The hotel is located on the 1st line, the beach is empty and clean. There are rarely more than 4-5 people in the water. There are waves, but they are quite pleasant for swimming. The children swam with pleasure. There are sun loungers on the beaches for an additional fee (200 rubles per hour or $ 5 all day. There were also few people in the pool, there are always free sun loungers. There are many turtle farms around the hotel. The nearest two on the left and right on the beach are literally 100 meters from the hotel. For an additional fee, you can release 3-10 day-old turtles into the sea. There is also a good souvenir shop at the nearest farm. The hotel has a gym with panoramic windows - it is almost always empty and good exercise equipment.
On the beach at the hotel we met a local guide, Banda, who offered us individual excursions. We compared the prices and conditions with the offer of Biblio-Globus and decided to choose a Gang. We were very satisfied. Personal excursions at the best prices ($ 150-250 for three), went to the beaches of Hikkaduwa, fed turtles in the ocean, snorkeling there - there are many fish, moray eels, turtles in the ocean). We also went to the city of Ella, to watch waterfalls and ride a train, and visited the famous nine-arch bridge there. The guide organized a trip to the largest turtle farm, which has a small aquarium with sharks, moray eels and a stingray.
We really liked the guide, he always arrived on time, does not smoke, the car is clean and new, drives carefully, helped us with all questions (go to the supermarket, buy groceries or to the nearest turtle farm, take a tuk tuk), literally was our personal assistant. Other locals on the beach did not bother us with offers after we agreed with him. Via WhatsApp is available 24/7. Personal excursions turned out to be much more convenient than group ones, they can be organized according to your schedule and take only what is interesting. At the airport, upon arrival, we bought a local SIM card ($ 9-19, depending on the fare) - there is a good connection with it everywhere. The hotel also has good internet access.
The Gang Guide (his number + 94 77 783 6537 ), we recommend - you can write to him on WhatsApp in advance and he will offer excursions according to your requests, show a photo-video of what you can see on the excursions.
The hotel and the rest in general left the most pleasant impressions!

This is a great hotel. There are large pools for children. Lots of sun beds, enough for everyone. You can sit on the lawn on a sunbed under palm trees. There is a bar by the pool, prices are high there and the price on the menu is not final, you need to ask for the price after all the surcharges and taxes. The territory is fenced with a security fence. Three steps beyond the territory and you are already on a gorgeous sandy beach, the end of which is not visible, there are no people, only local fishermen, but if you do not enter into a dialogue with them, then they immediately lag behind. Turtles come to this beach at night to lay eggs. It's better not to go to the beach alone at night, otherwise drunk locals can pose a danger to you. The hotel is very beautiful. The rooms are cozy. The mattresses and pillows are fantastic, you drown in them. Most of the food is local spicy dishes with curry and a small part is the food that we used to eat, you will not stay hungry. Sometimes small monitor lizards run around the territory. At night, I almost stepped on a scorpion, but since the territory is generously watered with all sorts of chemicals from the creatures, this comrade was probably an accident. There are small chameleons.
In short, this is the Sheraton, everything is fine here.

We arrived at this hotel on an all-inclusive basis. We came to have lunch at a restaurant. We sat down at the table and SPECIFICALLY asked in the restaurant - is the food free? The restaurant employee replied - for free. Then we specially opened the food menu and poking our finger at the food, we asked again - is the food free? The restaurant employee replied, “everything is free, FREE.”
When we ate, a manager immediately came up to us with an invoice for payment. They haven't let us go for the second hour, they came to the reception and now the showdown continues here. How many times have I been to different sheraton hotels around the world , I have not met with such a person yet 🤣🤣🤣
It looks just like a scam-a good old-fashioned divorce. Our mistake was to record on video how a restaurant employee said that everything was free for you.

The hotel is interesting! The beach is nearby. There is a large swimming pool on site. There is a large terrace with a bar on the roof. The view from the terrace is amazing. A beach with breakwaters, a turtle farm is just a few steps away. Sports are held every day.activities - yoga, beach volleyball, etc. There are few Russians, our guide actively advised us by the Rio man, but we do not regret that we took this hotel.
On the downside: it's a dreary building, they would at least put greenery on it.
The bed linen wasn't perfect, and I kept finding some black spots. Nearby is a muddy river partially filled with garbage, but it is not very visible, it does not smell, it is not visible from below on the territory of the hotel, the territory is well planted with greenery and trees.

We had a rest in March 2023. with her husband and child for 4 years. This is probably the best hotel in the region. We took breakfast / dinner, had lunch at the hotel restaurant (prices are Moscow). The food is quite varied, there is a lot of spicy food, but the child has something to feed (very little ones are probably problematic). The pool is clean, the territory is also well maintained. The beach near the hotel is simply luxurious, but the waves are strong enough, the child needs to take several pairs of armbands on vacation because they are often torn off, and there is nowhere to buy. There are toot-tookers next to the hotel, we went with them to the beach with turtles and ride an elephant. It takes about 30-40 minutes to go both ways

I liked the nice, beautiful, fresh rooms; the food in the restaurant is varied and delicious. But there were also unpleasant moments in the service: after checking into the room, we did not go immediately, but went straight to the restaurant, returning more than an hour later there was no luggage in the room yet, we had to call the reception. Also, there were no towels in the room at all - they forgot (. Again, I had to call and wait, although I really wanted to take a shower from the road. The rooms are lovely. I was especially pleased with the mattress and blanket. Very comfortable, soft, you fall asleep instantly. It's funny that the bathroom is separated by a transparent wall - it unites). The service has failed. Of the three towels laid, one large one is brought, three were brought once in two weeks. Hygiene kits also often do not match the number of residents, often something is not reported. The early breakfast in the boxes is terrible and does not match the stated one. There are no emergency medicines in the hotel.
The beach is not included in the hotel, but it is simply gorgeous. The only upset is the sewage, which is smeared all over the beach sand when the tide comes in and the seawater enters the mouth of the river at the hotel. The beach becomes black with smudges of you know what.
I would like to thank the chefs separately. The kitchen is excellent!

Everything in the hotel is on top:large rooms, excellent cleaning, the rooms have everything you need, including an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, safe, refrigerator, kettle, bathrobes, slippers. This hotel has a great restaurant. The range of dishes is always huge. There is absolutely everything:meat, seafood, fish, vegetables, fruits, milk... For every taste. Excellent staff. Large clean swimming pool. The beach, like all beaches on the island, is public, but wide, clean and with a beautiful entrance without stones.

A lovely hotel, the staff is friendly but not intrusive. Breakfasts, dinners, lunches are at the highest level (at the level of the Sheraton chain) with a huge selection, you will hardly find it better in Sri Lanka. Delicious cocktails at the bar, compared to RIU is especially felt, Free aqua aerobics, there are yoga classes every day in the morning and evening with an excellent instructor. The hotel is new, the room is large, a glass wall with a bathtub :) you can admire the ocean from the shower :) we would also like to say separately about the bed - you sleep like in a cloud, incredibly cozy and comfortable. The hotel is great when there are few people at lunch you can eat on the menu. The service is good, the staff is friendly. Men clean up, which is probably why it's hard to call it cleaning. The food is delicious and more often traditional. We settled in quickly and were met by a drummer.

I really liked the hotel, we were from 25.12 to 06.01
We got to all the celebrations (Christmas, New Year), the holidays were well organized, the tables were beautifully set. The dishes are varied, oysters and lobsters. Mutton and pork. In general, in the kitchen, you could always find something to your taste. Although there are many curry dishes, we tried them for a change. For children, they ordered directly to the cook, not spermogony times, but still achieved chicken broth with noodles without a bunch of vegetables. As for the room service staff, there is something to work on. The order is delivered to the room in 45 minutes, it's just beer! Before 2:20 it is lunch in the room. Swearing and calling is useless, only yes ser! That's all. The cleaning is quite satisfactory, it was done in our absence. The eldest daughter got sick, they quickly organized a doctor's call, and the doctor promptly contacted us, first by phone and in 10 minutes she was already with us with all the necessary medicines. We double-checked with our family doctor, he confirmed everything about the treatment. The beach fights were a bit annoying, but this is not a question for the hotel. In general, the vacation was a success. I recommend the hotel!
