A great hotel for those who come for a ride.
There are storage areas for equipment downstairs, but they are shared.
The building itself is a bit old. There is audibility outside the door, but the neighbors were quiet. There are small saunas for women and men, but I did not visit and only heard reviews. The rooms are slightly different sizes- I came across one near the stairs, and apparently because of this location, my room was a little narrower. But other acquaintances had a little wider ones.
You shouldn't expect good water pressure here - it's not that good.
Each room has a balcony, where you can sit and drink tea in a warm blanket.
Batteries are hot, so things dry out quickly.
But they are very narrow and therefore it is difficult to place things on the battery.
There is a swimming pool - the water is cool (that is, without heating or it was not working at that time, so please check when booking)
The room was cleaned, but it's not a luxury hotel to require perfect cleaning, so it's fine. Get knocked up and change clothes normally.
Eating cafe in the very
Overall, it's not a bad place. Its main advantage is that it is in the mountains. Stunning views from the window,
convenient location to the ski lifts. Polite and attentive staff.
I liked that the hotel is wooden.
The rooms are "tired", but it wasn't critical for me.
The big disadvantage, perhaps, is the lack of an elevator.🤔
It's still the best ski resort. The staff does everything possible and impossible to maintain the quality of the stay. Unfortunately, the resort's weekend facilities have long been exhausted. The place has become glamorous, with a huge number of fashionable skaters who have no idea about the ethics of skating. The huge number of tourists from India and China was unpleasantly impressed. Very different people mentally. Noisy and not shy to make physiological sounds at the table.
Nice hotel. The ratio of price and quality. Right by the elevator. Great family room. It's a great restaurant. Normal breakfasts. Attentive staff. A cool sauna with a swimming pool. The water would be a little warmer. I liked everything.
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! This is the third year we have been spending our holidays in Shymkent, and before that we always looked with envy at the guests of this hotel, it looks nice from the outside, it resembles European chalets, balconies with mountain views, a pool on the street, and this year we finally got inside this "miracle" by booking rooms for February 2025 as early as September 2024. Perhaps there are many renovated good rooms in the hotel, but we did not come across such rooms. In our Junior Suite, everything was more Semi-than a Suite. An old shabby room, not too clean, with poor-quality repairs in a tiny bathroom, but compared to the "murdered" bathroom in the room on the first floor where our children lived, it is quite suitable. We rented a hostel room for the children, as it was necessary to accommodate 4 people at once, in the photo it looked modest but decent, in fact, a cubicle in which even the door to the toilet does not close. There is absolutely no desire to return there, despite the fact that the price per room is 2 times higher than in a normal hotel in Almaty, from where you can get to the mountain in 30 minutes. For 12,000 rubles per day, we also had to clean the drain in the shower ourselves, as no one responded to our complaint, and the water poured onto the floor. There was no Wi-Fi. One of the advantages is a sauna with a pleasant relaxation room and herbal tea and a warm outdoor pool.
So, let's start in order. The hotel is in high demand- as one of the few on the mountain, because it is the only one, so do not expect an early check-in if you suddenly arrived earlier.
The hotel was built in the 70s. It was updated in the 90s. The curtains are burnt through, the robes are sometimes torn, the floors and flooring have seen Yeltsin.
If they give you tea, be happy. It's not every time you clean up that you're lucky. Sugar? No. You haven't heard.
The water is in the bathroom, you will be tempered. The neighbors flushed the toilet, and you have boiling water.
You've turned on the hot tap, and ice is pouring on your head. And you won't adjust anything until it's cleaned up.
According to the included breakfast. You will either start crowing or you will start eating in a cafe. Breakfast is meager. There's nothing to eat. Don't take the cheese. It's a piece of plastic that doesn't even melt.
Coolies and tea are served on the bar. During rush hour, which is 8 a.m., the queues are such that it's easier to send for death, because everyone wants to go up the mountain. But there is no. Wait until I pour coffee from one coffee machine for all 30 of you in turn.
On the menu for money. You can have a burger. Good.
Don't take the steak, it's just meat on coals. It's as far from a classic steak as semolina porridge is from a barbecue.
For the money in general, maybe even to eat. But not all of them. A lot of things are just poorly cooked.
According to the staff, the bartender is a magical darling))) The rest of you should be prepared to think that they have a fee. But in general, it seems that these are the features of the national dialect in Russian.
For lack of anything better on the mountain, put up with it if you want to be the first to climb.
We had a great rest, thanks to the staff, everyone is very friendly, it's a pity that the renovation in room 308 does not match the photo on the website, very old renovation. But we also want to say thank you to the very helpful maids Claudia, Elena and Oksana.
The hotel is ideal for a ski holiday, due to its location on Shymkent. A place with a history, a former ski base during the Soviet era.
Everywhere there is a beautiful modern renovation in the Alpine style.
The rooms have everything you need, including a bathrobe, slippers, cosmetics, etc. There is a kettle, tea and drinking water. There is also a TV, we did not use it. A very wide bed with a comfortable mattress.
The price includes breakfast (buffet, the menu is standard for such breakfasts, everything is delicious), sauna access and a suspect pool. The sauna with a mountain view is simply gorgeous!
In terms of cost, if compared with Rosa Khutor in Sochi, on the same dates in February, the cost of 3 on the mountain at the lift will be 3-4 times more expensive! At the same time, there will be no pool with a sauna, and sneakers for money (we rested last year).
I highly recommend the hotel. They provide a discount on multi-day ski passes. In general, the staff is very polite and friendly.
Those who get rooms on the 4th floor with a view of the slope will receive a bonus in the form of a regular visit of squirrels almost to the room :))) Squirrels are almost not afraid of people.
A nice old hotel at a great height. He sleeps well, no altitude sickness. The mattress is cool, high and soft. The room is 18 meters, a normal bathroom. We did an original job on the first day with the fact that the water in the sink does not go away: a guy came and just unscrewed everything in the drain. Gels, shampoos and lotion are brought with cleaning, but this cleaning must be ordered separately, they do not clean anything themselves. The TV is only via Wi-Fi, you need Netflix accounts, for example. The sauna is right on the second floor, in principle, very good, you can warm up with a view of the ski slope. But the water in the outdoor pool is too cold for such procedures in winter.
The most important thing in this place is the proximity to the highway. In the morning I got up and immediately took the skis to the lift twenty meters from the entrance. It's just super! There is a ski room, however, luggage is also stored there. There is a ski boot dryer. It would be cool if people didn't dry clothes and suitcases there too))
Breakfast from eight to eleven in the restaurant on the second floor, buffet. Everything is high-quality and delicious, there is a choice, but not much.
All in all, it's a great place to go for a ride. It's a good track. It was my first time at such heights, I took my soul away properly in 3 days!) One minus!!! Inexperienced, or rather, not experienced at all, why do they climb so high and at the same time cannot slide down normally....!?🤔
The coolest thing is the location of the hotel and the sauna with a swimming pool on the street. Well, that's it)
The hotel is waiting and asking for repairs, the rooms are very tired. Even the sheets are torn, too tired)))
The breakfasts are so monotonous that after a couple of days you want to have breakfast at the resort, not at the hotel. It will be especially difficult for those who do not eat meat.
Well, hello to the administration, which is so customer-oriented that it coordinates the clearing of snow under the windows with a tractor at 6 a.m. It was unforgettable!🤦🏻
Great location. But it can be too crowded on weekdays. There is a sauna with panoramic mountain views and a small swimming pool. Everything is included in the price. The only restaurant in Shymkent is open until midnight. Delicious breakfasts. You can get there by cable car or ECO-taxi.
Of the cons: problems with cleanliness in the room. Cleaning and changing of towels should be requested at the reception. The letter with the link to the order of services can be safely ignored. The idea is good, but the implementation has failed.
We faced the fact that there were water outages. Not very critical, but unpleasant.
The rooms are sad and in need of renovation.
It is very inconvenient that there is no normal closet. Robes, outerwear, and a crew all together. Instead of normal shelves, there are unintelligible rag shelves.
There is also a problem with the room equipment, the safe will break, there are not enough slippers, or there is some kind of plaque in the glasses. The bathroom stinks of sewage.
The breakfasts are average, in principle, you can eat too much, but it's better to go to the restaurant next door.
Positive aspects: the view of the slope is excellent, nearby is kombi-1, it is very pleasant to leave the hotel and go for a ride right away. The sauna is good, the relaxation room has herbal tea, kettles, sugar, cold water, and a boiler. There is a warm swimming pool nearby, but it is not heated at the moment, as the heating element is broken. The reception staff is very diligent, very polite and friendly.
Overall, the impressions are mixed. As a normal three-star hotel, as a place to spend the night, to immediately go for a ride, it's normal.
A great place to relax, beautiful views of the mountains, the city, very tasty food, a swimming pool with a sauna, a great class. The room is really a small old hotel
A place of relaxation, peace of mind. Dinner is on top. The wine is excellent. The staff is helpful. Fast, tasty, beautiful. The pool is very warm and warm. The contrast with the cold evening is unforgettable. The bathhouse is beautiful. The tea is fragrant. I will definitely come back
I liked the hotel, the restaurant is good, the location is very convenient, there are many trails straight from the hotel, of course, repairs are needed already, as I understand it, it has not been restored since the year of construction.
It's not bad, but in April everything closed after 5 p.m. If we had known about it, we wouldn't have stayed overnight for a few days. The next day, due to the wind, the cable car was closed when we went down for a walk. I had to demand by phone from the hotel staff that we be taken up by minibus. I'm not sure if it was luck that we found her and sat down, or if she was really sent after us, but the customer care was at a near-zero level.
The breakfasts are acceptable, except that there is nothing to drink (water, koumiss, tea/coffee), I would like at least apple juice. The rooms are comfortable, but the repair is already tired, the 310 sockets fly out after the plug when you take it out, it's pretty bad with sound insulation.
If a tractor is brought in to clean the territory in the morning, then you will not be able to fall asleep.
A pleasant sauna, but it's a long way to run from it to the pool.
an old hotel, clean, but Soviet, authentic. the location is good if you ride right on the mountain. There is a swimming pool with mountain views and a sauna.
If you love the mountains of Kazakhstan, then you are definitely here. A picturesque place, unforgettable views, delicious food, attentive staff . I will definitely come again)
We stayed at the economy. We really liked the hotel, but we are not picky either. There are disadvantages, but these are all the little things that are covered by an excellent gurney.
The hotel is ordinary, nothing special. But it seemed quite expensive to us, unlike similar ones in other countries.
There is a saiga and an outdoor swimming pool.
However, the pool did not warm up much, as they said, the awning was broken. You don't really buy into -15)))
The breakfasts are monotonous but delicious.
Nice pool with sauna, great location. You can practically ski down to the cafe.
Food for 4, not bad but not great either.
The number of rooms is three, of course, but this is not the key.
In general, the hotel is excellent considering where it is located and the lack of alternatives
There are very compact rooms, and there are quite comfortable ones, but all have a balcony. In general, spending the whole day on the mountain, it is very pleasant to return to the room "by the tree".
It's cool that there is a sauna without leaving the hotel!
There was a pleasant incident with the absence of a sign for the women's half /locker room;)
Generally be careful or get to know each other right away))
We had a good rest, delicious cuisine, friendly staff. A heated swimming pool, which is great in a mountainous area. It's expensive, though, and it's hard to get there in the summer, but if it works out, a great vacation is provided.
An incredibly beautiful place! We were at the Shimbulak resort hotel. Service, as if they came to visit relatives. Warm, delicious, cozy, everything is thought out to the smallest detail, for guests. The hot water pool and the sauna with panoramic windows stole my heart. The price tag is more than acceptable for this level. I will definitely return to the ski snow season. To all the polite and generous tipping guests working there!
A great holiday resort. There is something to occupy yourself for the whole day, having received a lot of positivity. But there is a big disadvantage - I would like to see Halal food. And not alcohol everywhere in public catering.
The hotel is located near the ski lift. There is a sauna and outdoor swimming pool. After a punishing day, going to the sauna to warm up is ideal. The rooms are small but cozy.
This is the only hotel at this height, delicious breakfasts, room service can be ordered, there is a restaurant, a cool view, an excellent sauna with panoramic views of the slope and a heated pool, a squirrel jumps on the balconies, while redecorating the hotel would not hurt.
The hotel is located a few meters from the slopes, in the heart of Shimbulak. We took the standard with the law - the prices are very acceptable, the bonus is a sauna and a heated pool, We had lunch and dinner there. Delicious and inexpensive. The hotel staff is very customer-oriented, responds to any request. Even a taxi was called, a massage therapist was recommended, a discount on a ski pass of 30 rubles is provided. A very good-natured reception. Thank you so much.
Wonderful hostel!
I stayed for a couple of days, I think, right on the mountain. We were warmly welcomed, and we were fed breakfast in the morning. Next time I go to Shymkent, I will definitely stay there!
A very cool hotel with a gorgeous view of the mountains.Interesting rooms, a good restaurant at the hotel, everything was delicious and served quickly.A separate respect for the pool in winter and the bathhouse!
Great trails: wide, comfortable, for any level of skiing. And if you stay at the Shymkent resort hotel, then you will receive pleasant bonuses in the form of a panoramic sauna, an outdoor heated pool and included breakfasts and a discount on ski passes.
The mountains are very beautiful, the infrastructure (the Shymkent hotel, all establishments) is at a good level. The difficulty of the trails is comfortable for an average level of skiing. I recommend going in late February, March. There is a better chance that it will snow. There is no freeride there, skiing is more on the piste.
So-so....
The service is lousy, 5 types of music are screaming from all the cafes that are located one after the other, the tracks are not well maintained, the guns never work, there are a lot of people.
Without a doubt, fans of outdoor activities in the mountains, tourists, climbers will be satisfied with their vacation at the ski resort of Shimbulak. Well-equipped ski slopes, excellent service in restaurants and cafes, many hiking mountain trails in the reserve, picturesque natural landscapes will attract tourists not only in winter, but also in summer.
Completely charmed. It was like visiting a Swiss ski resort. Sunny, warm, cozy, respectable. The restaurant fed excellent horse meat steak, watered it and sent it for a walk and enjoy the views. It's a pity, we got to the day when the rope was closed for repairs before the season.
A Soviet campsite with cosmetic repairs. The advantages are ski-in, gorgeous views from the windows, the presence of a sauna (shared) and a swimming pool. Cons - a meager buffet like breakfast, a discount-free restaurant at the hotel, water from the plumbing has a smell (it's normal for mountains), go broke on bottled water. There was a table in my Standard+ room, but there were no chairs or anything like that)
A good hotel, good-quality, but the rooms are too small and there is no way to dry your clothes if you ride. For just tourists, everything is fine, a balcony with a view of the mountain or the city. It was pretty quiet, everyone lived according to the regime, after 11 a restful sleep😄
The slope is excellent, the views are gorgeous, good blue and red slides, I definitely recommend going up to the very top and trying the slopes, the descent of which opens from above.
But there are nuances.
First, the ascent to the slopes is limited - from 9 to 17. Then a break for an hour and a half, then night skiing, from 19 to 23. It's inconvenient. At this time, the slope is being trampled, but why can't it be done at night? And why not extend the opening hours at least until 00:00? Sorochany and Stepanovo are open until 02:00 every day.
But that's not all - night skiing is NOT every day! Except on holidays. On weekdays, after work, you can come and see the lift that is not working. The logic is strange!
Secondly, there is a hotel near the slopes, it can be reached either by funicular or eco-taxi (electric cars, others are not allowed) they fight around the clock. But this is not accurate! We arrived from the city to the funicular at 20:30, the lift did not work, and found out that eco-taxis also do not work, like, avalanche danger! What a surprise! No one stops pedestrians, and a barrier has been raised for cars. The fact that we have to walk up to the hotel for more than an hour is half the trouble, but the fact that we have to go to the airport with all our things by 6 in the morning is quite a disaster! The funicular will definitely not work at this time, and eco-taxis are also not allowed!!!! Uh.... Somehow it doesn't work out well!!! When I was there, several cars wanted to pass (electric cars) - they were not allowed. We contacted the hotel, they promised to help. The evening stopped being languid :)) Then, by some miracle, 2 girls drove through the barrier, dropped us off, for which I thank them very much! And the lift was working at the top, and one or two skiers flashed from time to time! Fantastic! There is an avalanche danger below, and people are riding at the top!!! Like, the slopes were shot from above, but not from below! Amazing! I would have put 2 stars, but the hotel found a way to get us to the airport closer to midnight, confirmed that there would be a car in the morning, and it arrived.
Well, and for a snack - there was a case this winter that the funicular hung up, and people hung in the booths for several hours in the cold.
It's a nice hotel, but every day organized groups of children come there to hike and swim in the pool sweaty in T-shirts. On the first day, they came with a speaker and turned on their music. I liked the sauna, there is tea, hats. The water in the pool is muddy, because people come to wash there right from the street.
The rooms are in the style of mountain hotels, all decorated with wood.
The food is delicious, and at the same time the prices are adequate (I was surprised, to be honest).
The main advantage of the hotel is its location. Just a TOP 👍
