A large territory, a good water park: 4-5 slides, quite high.
The food in the included restaurant is mediocre: the choice seems large, but in fact everything is always about the same. You can have a snack between breakfast / lunch /dinner only in one place, the rest of the "food distribution points" offer hot dogs or ice cream.
The beach is about a kilometer along the road. Crossing the road is not regulated. It's awkward and wild.
The beaches are ordinary, the waves are small. Sun beds are about 8 euros for two + an umbrella.
All the attractions need to be reached by car from 30 minutes to several hours.
Car rental at the hotel - darkness and horror: expensive + can bring a broken car. Then change it to an unsuitable one (you order with a child seat, but it does not fit), then they bring more, not broken, but ancient, working with poorly concealed fatigue, painfully waiting for a well-deserved pension.
A good hotel to come to sleep off an adult.

A family-run hotel.
It stands on a rather steep slope, so guests with suitcases are transported by golf carts. If the staff is free, then they will just give you a ride))
Very cozy and quiet, the rooms are like separate small villas.

In 2019, we bought an early booking tour from the Pegasus tour operator. The price was around 120-125 thousand rubles for two people for 12 nights, departure from Moscow.
Since this was our third time in Crete, we already knew what kind of excursions we wanted, that we needed an all-inclusive concept and a certain set of hotel amenities. By the way, I still don't understand people who consider those who take "All inclusive" to be lazy, because it's convenient. Especially, in the morning before the tour, have breakfast quickly on the road, and, conversely, after the tour, having already missed dinner, you can have a snack in a bar or pastry shop.
So, such a long-awaited vacation has come after 5 years of fighting with a bankrupt developer, and then completed (hallelujah!) I think I was just overjoyed. We arrived at Heraklion airport as usual, and arrived in about half an hour.
We had to wait for the room for quite a long time, since we arrived at 9 o'clock in the morning, and only at 14:00 was check-in. In the meantime, we lay down on the sofas and fell asleep. We were taken to the top of the golf cart to room 1030.
They helped us carry our suitcases. Tips are welcome, my husband was generous with 10 euros.
We were given a two-room room, which I did not expect at all! 2 beds, a huge wardrobe, bedside tables, as usual, a table with a mirror, a TV above the door.
One was faulty - the shower water was barely dripping, but my husband quickly fixed it, and we were able to take a shower after a tiring journey.
But when we opened the balcony, we were just stunned! The view of the sea, the whole city of Hersonissos, is incredibly beautiful, and it is very nice that the hotel administration took such care of us!
Just below the second "tier" of houses, the hotel is like a toy, green town.
At first it was interesting, even a little defiantly, to walk around the hotel, because it stands on a mountain. And while you're going back and forth, you'll pretty much pump up your calves and everything above. When I read the reviews, I thought, "Oh, I'm still young! Why should I climb a few steps?" That was not the case.
My husband and I were "lucky", and we both got sick on this vacation, possibly due to prolonged stress. And then the body relaxed and that's it, hello! With a cold, you don't really go back and forth anymore, so once again we just didn't leave the room. Either a meal, or to the pharmacy, or to Hersonissos. However, we were later allowed to go on excursions.
The hotel took care of its guests and ran a bus once an hour to Star beach. He stops at the hotel of the same name, and you can already go about your business in the city.
At first we walked by ourselves, but then we realized that every exit is literally a march in the heat and started driving.
The hotel has a couple of pools for adults, 1 for children, and a water park with a swimming pool. In general, there are a lot of families with kids in the hotel, it is still a mystery to me how they did not get tired of stomping back and forth from the mountain and uphill. And if there is also a stroller...
There is a shop in the main building at the entrance, but the prices are high. There is a pool bar (adjacent to the main restaurant) and a lobby bar. As you know, when we had a cold, we didn't use them much.
But the food is beyond praise! Theme nights are often held, sometimes Greek with dancing, then Italian, then marine. Even the grilled octopus was the most tender, better than in the tavern in Hersonissos. I was very pleased, as was my husband.
While we were missing somewhere, the courteous maids were twirling swans in the room. Tips were left in the region of 1-2 euros. At the same time, when we left them on the table, no one took them. That's what I like about the Greeks, no stealing, we don't even take a safe in Greece.
The territory itself is green, cozy, it's nice to sit and drink delicious Greek wine in the evening.
We went to the beach not Star beach, but the one from below near the Lichnostatis Museum.
There is a long strip of beach, and there is also a beach in a rocky depression, there is just sand and a smooth approach (I can't swim, this is the most important thing for me), although there is a pipe, but everyone climbs it, it doesn't bother anyone, and my husband and I climbed, but further there already deeper.
There are already boulders on the right side, and it is not very safe to swim. My husband slightly injured his toe.
A kitty lives on the territory of the hotel with her kittens, the hotel staff feeds them and takes care of them. In general, I put the hotel at 4+, and I reduced half the score just for being on the mountain. Climbing is incredibly difficult. But if you are not afraid of difficulties, then come and enjoy the beautiful, friendly and unhurried Greece. Although in any case, come to which hotel you like, because Greece is amazing!
