A wonderful center of culture in the center of beautiful Gomel! The artist is interesting, original, his works set him up in a philosophical and ideological way. Both the name of G.H. Vashchenko and the gallery itself should remain one of the brands, symbols of the city! Even for a sophisticated resident of St. Petersburg, it was very informative and interesting for me to visit you! Wonderful, friendly and very competent staff, to whom many thanks! I recommend it to everyone and I will recommend it!
The nicest employees, informative and fascinating stories of the guide, a fairly large area of expositions of famous world artists and modern local ones. If you need to pass the time usefully, definitely look here!
I will remember the art gallery of G. Vashchenko in Gomel thanks to the curator Oleg Gennadievich and interesting exhibitions.
The most important exhibition is dedicated to Gavriil Vashchenko.
✏️Interesting and important about the artist:
- Gavriil Vashchenko is a national artist of the Republic of Belarus.
- It was he who introduced the image of the stork as a symbol of Belarus.
- He created stained glass windows for the red church in Minsk. Originally it was a cinema House, and the artist created stained glass windows for it. But later the building was transferred to the church and the stained glass windows had to be changed. Interestingly, literally several stained glass windows were replaced, which had a movie theme, and the rest also fit the religious context. This became possible because the artist created universal cultural things.
-One of his monumental works is located in the Lyceum of BSU -"The Enlighteners"
It depicts a teacher and a student in the center, and on the sides are pages of the history of Belarus. They are represented by educators from different eras. A very serious job in terms of meaning.
I recommend visiting the gallery. A very pleasant and informative place in Gomel. There are always temporary exhibitions here. Some of them will be discussed in the next post.
An interesting place, a small art gallery, in a wonderful mansion with a beautiful territory, as I understand it, there is one permanent exhibition of the Belarusian national artist Vashchenko, and two temporary ones, not far from an art souvenir salon. Those who love national visual art are required to visit.
I recently attended an exhibition of blood donors at the Vashchenko Gallery. I especially liked how beautifully and knowledgeably the chief curator of the painting and gallery told us about everything. After the exhibition, he gave us a tour of the entire gallery and introduced us to Vashchenko's work in a very interesting way. It is clear that the person really likes his work and that he thoroughly knows the creative path of the author whose name the gallery was named after. I am sure that when we build a creative society in which everyone who wants to can reveal their talent as an artist, all cities will be dotted with art galleries of real talents. Because in a creative society, human life will be the most important thing, so everyone will be provided with everything necessary, including an unconditional basic income in the equivalent of 10,000 dollars, so a talented artist may not even set himself the goal of making money, but will simply improve in painting paintings to popularize all the best that is in people and on our planet. After all, true talent can develop only as a result of altruistic activity. This is proved by the stories of many artists. For money, talent develops hundreds of times slower and worse. This is how the Lord has arranged our world. Once again, many thanks to the painting and the Vashchenko Gallery and especially to the main curator for a very interesting presentation of those artistic treasures that the Vashchenko Gallery stores. Apparently, Vashchenko was a very good man who really loved the Slavic lands of people and greatly respected the work of every mother, every grain grower. And every person in general.
A wonderful art gallery. Kind and attentive staff. A variety of exhibitions, taking into account the age and outlook of people. Wonderful hood. studio on Sundays. There is only one minus, it's terribly cold, it's very pathetic for the directly working staff (((
An amazing gallery. We arrived and accidentally got to the exhibition of lithographs by Rene Magritte + we looked at the permanent exhibition of Vashchenko. A good guide, small halls. What I didn't like was that the gift shop was a long way from the gallery itself.
I have been to this institution several times. We conducted excursions. It was very interesting. They recommend you to visit. Various exhibitions are held periodically.
I highly recommend taking a guide, it's not expensive, but it makes the exhibitions more interesting. The main collection of Gabriel Vashchenko is dedicated to Chernobyl, heavy paintings.

A very cozy art gallery with excellent accompanying art critics. Well-maintained halls, pleasant atmosphere. I definitely recommend it to art lovers to visit. I visited the gallery for the first time in 2022, in the summer.
I visited the exhibition of Vashchenko himself and the artist Karpan, and also managed to get into the hall with an exposition dedicated to the circus.
It is a very interesting place for both adults and children, because performances with many master classes such as violin, guitar, knitting, drawing and much more can be held behind the gallery.
An excellent gallery. I highly recommend it. I especially want to mention Oleg Gennadyevich, I made a great tour, it was informative (I learned about Vashchenko, interesting moments in his biography, different directions in art, discussed different paintings, found meaning). In general, both the children and I were very satisfied! Thank you so much for a pleasant time) I recommend it to everyone
We were at an exhibition dedicated to the Romanov family. A terrible organization. Incorrect captions under the photo. On the poster it was indicated that the exhibition of icons. In fact, there is only one icon from the entire collection. It's not worth the money. I do not recommend visiting. Even the custodians of the foundation do not know the basics. And hear it..It's the Russian colleagues' fault. Guilty of what..that illiterate people work. They really ruined the impression of the gallery. It is better to visit other museums of our wonderful city
We were with the children. The tour, which costs 3 rubles per person, lasted 15 minutes. During these 15 minutes, everyone managed to feel uneducated and ignorant. Obviously, if the children of the 7th grade were so knowledgeable in the field of art, we would not have brought them. The guide reminded me of an evil teacher who arranged a frontal survey.
I really liked the exhibition of St. Petersburg artist Nikos Safronov. When we came in, the girl who works there told the visitors the facts from the artist's life. I think it was her initiative. Because we visited the exhibition in the summer and we also really liked it, there are no guides at the exhibitions, but the staff are very friendly and tell and show everything you ask and even take you through the gallery and mark interesting works. I am very pleased with this attitude to work!
A very decent and cozy oasis of culture, exhibitions, concerts for every taste and predilection, everything is wonderful and pleasant to visit them, especially outdoor concerts.
I was at an exhibition of digital art, I really liked it

Vashchenko's paintings themselves are darkness, they are all in gloomy tones, there is not a single bright picture. The author clearly has something wrong, he looks at the world through black glasses, he has some kind of hopelessness and longing.
But the world is not like that, and it depends on us how to see it and what kind of world to shape, we must be a creator and transform the world.
And Vashchenko's paintings create only despondency and demoralization. In principle, I do not recommend viewing his paintings.
But the gallery is good and if there are other exhibitions there, then it's worth watching. For example, in January there was "I am an artist, I see it that way." I really liked this exhibition.
The exhibition can be chosen for every taste. They are very interesting and diverse. The night of museums was organized just amazing (unfortunately it is not possible now)
It's a nice place. Quiet, neat, intimate. For those who want to join the visual arts of varying degrees of emotionality, this place is exactly what you need.
The entrance to the shop "goods for artists" is permanently closed during working hours. You can enter from the side of the exhibition hall, but there is no information about this on the front door. The store's assortment is extremely scarce. Mostly inexpensive goods of low quality. The argument is we don't order because they don't buy. The seller has almost no information about what he is selling. It seems that there is no interest in sales at all.
