A very old Orthodox Cathedral. Ancient icons, painted walls. A blessed place. They sing in Russian and Abkhaz. They are praying for our Patriarch Kirill there!
How many years have I been in Abkhazia and never visited, this year I came to this cathedral, an extraordinarily beautiful place, a lot of ancient icons, the very atmosphere in the cathedral is peaceful!I recommend it for a visit
It is very beautiful and interesting, just a wonderful cathedral. In the city of Sukhum.
I recommend visiting it for all ages.
Blessings to all.

Be sure to visit the Church of the Annunciation. And pray to the Saints depicted on the icons of the temple. St. Paraskeva, the Apostle Simon Cananita and many others!
The main decoration of the central district is traditionally considered to be the Annunciation Cathedral (Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sukhum) — the main temple of the self-proclaimed Abkhazian Orthodox Church. This is the former Greek Church of St. St. Nicholas Church, built in 1909-1915 at the expense of the Greek community of the city and reconstructed in the 1980s, turning into one of the most magnificent buildings in the city. The temple houses the relics of Panteleimon the Healer, as well as a number of unique icons, including Archangel Michael and Archangel Gabriel (XIII century). The tomb of John Chrysostom, which was also located in this temple, was moved to the village of Koman (15 km) in 1990. northwest of the city)
I was at the service on the Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. A very interesting service in different languages. :Russian, Abkhaz. A blessed place.
It took a very long time to get from the embankment, apparently because of the heat. The cathedral is functioning and very beautiful. A bonus nearby, we visited a Catholic church.
I haven't been inside, but it's beautiful outside, there are a lot of people on Sunday, the bell ringing is very beautiful. as far as I know, the Abkhazian Orthodox Church is not in Eucharistic communion with us now, so there was no particular desire to go inside
A good temple, but the poor decoration inside, everything is old and worn out. The walls are finished. Sunday service begins at 9.30. They serve reverently with the deacon.
A cozy, spacious cathedral. There are many old icons, an original forged iconostasis, very good priests and a choir. We go to it when we live in Abkhazia.
One of the best cathedrals. It used to be called the Greek Church of St. Nicholas. The Orthodox Greeks, residents of Sukhum, built it at their own expense. Beautiful architecture, marble iconostasis, ancient icons at the altar. Inside there are carpets, cozy, beautiful. Wonderful fathers, they serve in full rank. Beautiful hymns accompany the church service. Please visit this holy place.
Beautiful cathedral, modern. It looks lonely against the background of the ancient temples of Abkhazia. Nevertheless, church life and the Eucharist do not stop
It's like home here. The only difference is that some of the chants are in Abkhaz, but they are immediately duplicated in Russian. Everything is fine! Maybe the Lord will bring you to visit there again!
A magnificent temple, beauty inside and out! Convenient location and responsive ministers

We visited on Saturday, the 1st, on the eve of Easter. They wanted to consecrate cakes and eggs. But we learned that the consecration takes place after the service, which begins on Saturday at 23h and ends at 4-5 am on Sunday. I had to consecrate it in another place (
Originally it was a temple of the Greek community of Sukhum, built in the beginning. In the XX century. in Soviet times, it was the only functioning Orthodox church in the city.
