Now at the hotel. I am very glad that I chose him! Clean, tasty, pleasant territory. The infrastructure is developed, do not count on cheap cafes, I only took breakfast, but I upgraded to HB, we just need it. Keels nearby, market, wine shop 300 meters. The ocean is absolutely crazy, dangerous and gorgeous), at night in a room for 3!!! an iguana got on the floor, pulled mango peelings out of a bucket and ate on the balcony, that's what I was really stunned by, I specifically asked for a higher one, it turned out-not a panacea, flogging (local)), got in! You don't count on the beach, it's not there.
On my return, I will add)): I recommend the hotel to visit, despite the lack of a beach, a stormy ocean is a common story for the west coast, but decent, by Sri Lankan standards, food)), cleanliness, good bed linen must still be searched, even a large star does not always guarantee the best quality of service. There are also authentic art objects in the interior everywhere in the hotel, it's so cool.
If you happen to return, there is a high probability of choosing this particular hotel, thanks to the staff for their kind attitude, courtesy and professionalism.
It's great here!🤩
The hotel is not new, but very well maintained, the territory is large, clean, the lobby is spacious, a pond with fish, the staff is as polite as possible, friendly, friendly, but they do not refuse money 😅
Rooms without complaints, wi-fi, air conditioning, safe
, daily cleaning, toiletries, bottled water in the required quantities.
Monitor lizards, turtles, various birds, chipmunks, monkeys move quietly on the territory of the hotel
Here, democracy is generally a complete connection with flora and fauna🌺🦚🐿️🦀🦎🐒🐢🐟🌴
The breakfasts are the same every day
It's simple: porridge, milk, sausages, chicken, fruits, bread, local dishes, etc.
In the evenings, live music with delicious cocktails 🍸
There is a bar on the pool, a lot of sun beds
There is a spa, massage services and several shops on site
You need to go to the beach outside the territory, and there the locals meet, kind, but very intrusive, how to behave with them, the guide will tell you
The ocean is clean🌊 crabs, shells, waves, the sun is a paradise
There are many cafes, souvenirs, fruit shops, fresh fish, vegetables nearby - everything is within walking distance💫
There is no nightlife here, after 23.00 there is silence🌗
I'll be back here😍❤️
A very decent hotel. Clean, tasty, the staff is very friendly and polite, many speak Russian. They congratulated me on my birthday and handed me a cake for breakfast even the next day, because on the birthday itself we were on an excursion: They left early in the morning and returned late at night.
There are many chipmunks, herons, monitor lizards on the territory of the hotel. Access to the beach is closed, the shore is fortified with huge boulders, but this did not prevent us from enjoying life in the least.
The location is excellent, facing the street, where there are many cafes and shops, all within walking distance!
I recommend it!
We stayed at this hotel from 11/20/24-11/26/24, then went to the Aralia resort hotel. This hotel is wonderful. Very beautiful and big by Sri standards. Delicious breakfasts - everyone will find something to eat . We bought dinners for 4,000 rupees and were happy because there was a very large selection and delicious. They tried to eat on the street, but for the same 4000 you get some nonsense and go hungry. The rooms are large- ask on the 3rd floor. The country is wet, things don't dry well. And now the most important thing is yes, there is no beach, but buy yourself a SIM card (only for a passport) and download the pickme app - take a taxi for free and go to Benota - that's where the beach paradise is. In benote, the beach is big and clean, the approach is smooth, there are waves, but not strong at all, jumping on them is a pleasure. If you need calm, then of course you need to go to unawatuna. If you buy a SIM card, then all the programs will remain on your phone - whatsapp, cart, banks. Everything works. Buy a SIM card with the Internet. Have a nice rest
Nice hotel , solid 4 . We rested for 19 days and were satisfied . Delicious food , friendly staff, at the reception too, there are shows in the evenings. The territory is good , large , near a 5-star hotel you can use their infrastructure. Cleaning is daily , linen is changed too , we always left good tips , perhaps that's why we always had a perfect cleaning and even brought lotuses in vases , also treated with insect repellent . The pools are clean, the water is warm, it is better to take sun beds in advance, there is a Playground, spa treatments. The beach is normal. I recommend this hotel 🏨
We are currently staying at this hotel, we really like it here, everything is included, the food is delicious, we really liked the soups. The guys are all friendly, they speak a little Russian. The fact that they don't have their own beach, well, it didn't spoil our vacation. We went by tuk-tuk to the lagoon for about 20 minutes, I want to say you can't swim there quietly either, the wave is also strong, we have been here for the second time, we rested in Blue water and there are also big waves.A small monitor lizard walks in the morning, we had a room with a terrace, he came to visit. There was live music in the evening, and a birthday cake at dinner, which was nice. Thanks Tangerine for the rest, everything was wonderful.
The hotel is large, but very tired, the bathroom is mildewed (as everywhere in Sri Lanka), everything is peeling and in need of repair for a long time. The hotel is on the first line, BUT there is no access to the beach, the entire coastline is fenced off and there are boulders along the coast, I had to go swimming in Bentota - an hour there, an hour back (minus 2000 rubles every day for the road). There are cafes and shops nearby, there were no problems with food, which cannot be said about the breakfasts at the hotel - they are just terrible, I don't understand who writes that they are delicious, just animal food, absolutely everything is inedible! We had pineapple for breakfast, they're passable.
The hotel is also located in Kalutara - it is very far from all the attractions and good beaches, it is very far and nerve-racking to drive, the traffic is terrible.
Among the advantages: a room on the third floor with an ocean view; friendly staff; quiet and safe.
The staff is always willing to help in any matter, well-groomed territory with squirrels, monitor lizards, herons, and geckos on the ceilings. Cleaning is daily, as well as a change of drinking water/bed linen and towels. The delux room with a view of the Indian Ocean is ideal, the room has everything except the standard sockets (we need adapters for our plugs). Massive wooden deck chairs are placed everywhere on the territory outside the pool, boys carry mattresses and towels to them. Breakfast is a buffet, everything is delicious. Due to the proximity to the ocean, there is no beach, only breakwaters-stones, you need to walk a little to the side. The beaches in Sri Lanka are ideal regardless of the hotels
We had a rest in April 2024. The hotel is decent, well-maintained territory. We got to the New Year, there were a lot of locals. It is better not to come for the new year. Nothing worked around for almost a week. The rooms are tired, the air conditioners are working, but somewhat strangely. In the morning, condensation forms on the walls (the walls flow). Insects live in the rooms. There were a lot of spiders in mine, and local cockroaches (large, can fly) in the next one. There is a variety of breakfast food (I liked scrambled eggs in a coconut basket the most), there is a selection of fruits, breakfast cereals, porridge, local cuisine. About the beach. He really isn't there. Whichever way you go. If you leave the hotel, you can swim near a small stone, there is a guard sitting on an improvised bench from the hotel, you can leave things with him. The sea is not calm, but very warm. Interesting black volcanic sand. It is better to take a tuk-tuk and go to the neighboring beaches, which we did. Of course, it was sad that here it is the ocean, but it is not accessible. After a crocodile swam onto the rocks near the hotel, the desire to swim in the ocean disappeared from the hotel. Therefore, we swam and rested near the pool. The pool is good, there were enough sun loungers for everyone. Many different birds, chipmunks, monitor lizards came. Interesting. Beautiful views and gorgeous sunsets. There is a tree on the territory where flying foxes live. And there is another point that should be taken into account when choosing a room. It is better to take it with a sea view right away, otherwise they can put you in a room on the railway. I'm shooting a star for the lack of a beach. Have a good rest!
We stayed at the hotel in February. The breakfasts are decent, there is something to choose from. Lots of fruits. You can choose Lankan or European cuisine. The hotel does not have its own beach, only a swimming pool. But there are two of them, since the territory of the two hotels is not separated by a fence. The rooms on the ground floor smell damp and there are mosquitoes. It is better to take the numbers above. In addition to the air conditioning, each room has a large ceiling fan. It is very convenient when you sleep at night. You turn off the air conditioner and sleep with a fan, you definitely won't get a cold. Overall, the hotel is not bad.
This is a good hotel! For Sri Lanka - very even) It's not new, you have to understand, but the service, regular room cleaning, change of towels, friendly staff, a magnificent pool with a bar in it, chipmunks on the lawn and gorgeous ocean views - all compensate! I advise you to take a room on the second, third floors. I lived both downstairs and upstairs: the view from above is better. I do not recommend trying to take someone from the locals to the hotel: I tried - he was arrested, and they threatened to deport me, fortunately, only in words)
I owe my acquaintance with different cities and beaches of the country to a cheerful, kind, friendly local tuk tuk driver named Laru, who helped a lot for a little money! You can meet him at the gate to the hotel or call WhatsApp + 94 (76) 498 9841
I wish you all a wonderful holiday! Sri Lanka is great!
The hotel is good!
Pros: Friendly staff, checked in much ahead of time, the rooms are good (there was a sea view). There is a great pool in the courtyard with a bar and sun beds, if everything was occupied, then we asked a tall guy from the staff, he always freed up the sun beds for us. There are yoga classes on site. The breakfasts are normal - you will not stay hungry, we had lunch and dinner in local cafes, there are a lot of them, but I really liked Natalie's cafe - right at the entrance to the hotel, the owner Danuka and Leila are very attentive, they will always help, they will bring everything, they will tell you everything, also if you eat with them, then there are many bonuses, for example they take you by tuk tuk to the center of Kalutara for free, the food is very tasty! Immediately after moving to the cafe on the right, I also liked it, there was another one, I don't remember the name - I didn't like it - it wasn't delicious! It was a birthday, a cake was prepared and presented at the hotel, and Danuka launched a fireworks display!
Cons: the hotel has no open access to the beach, there is a fence, as the coast began to wash away, it was covered with stones. Access to the beach is open through the neighboring hotel (they have a single territory). The beach is not wide, without sun beds. There are waves, we liked it. We went to the white sand beach in Bentota - we liked it much more.
If you want to come to this area of Sri Lanka, then I recommend the hotel, if you want more beautiful beaches, then you need to go further to Bentota, Hikkaduwa and Gale, read the reviews more carefully and see the photos.
A wonderful hotel, very tasty and varied cuisine. Clean, a little damp, but...This is the climate. There is a large swimming pool, sun loungers. The beach is nearby, you can enjoy the ocean. The beach is sandy, easy access, not deep.
The hotel is not bad, the rooms are old, there is a smell of mold, as the air conditioners only work when people live in the rooms. The service staff is very responsive and attentive. Good and varied cuisine, but the hotel simply does not have a territory, there is simply nowhere to walk in the evening, the hotel is located 100 meters from the railway and you feel all the delights and joys of the railway 100 percent, especially at night. And the most important thing for which people go on vacation is the ocean, the hotel has no place where you can swim and sunbathe, not counting the pool, as the waves fall right to the fence of the hotel.
A pretty good hotel. Excellent service, very beautiful decoration of the premises and territory, delicious food, good cleaning. But there is absolutely no beach in front of the hotel as stated in the description.
A very good hotel in its price category.Friendly and helpful staff,well-groomed territory, excellent swimming pool, tasty enough breakfasts, although monotonous, always fresh fruits papaya, pineapples, bananas, watermelons.one of the disadvantages is the lack of a beach as such and often large waves, so I had to go to the neighboring Bentota to swim
I take off two stars for the spoiled mood and unwillingness of the staff to go to the meeting. They didn't let me go to the gym because I wasn't wearing sneakers, but orthopedic open shoes (which hold my foot well). Moreover, the day before I was running on the track in them and no one said a word to me.... The hotel is located among the slums and is separated from social life. To walk the streets and go shopping, you have to drive by car or tuk-tuk for 40 minutes. The service is average, I was pleased only with the local beach, or rather, the coastline is 5 minutes from the hotel, where you can swim in the ocean.
Very comfortable rooms, cleaned daily, fresh towels every day. I didn't have to face any problems, everything worked as it should. When traveling on excursions, they asked the reception to prepare a lunch box with them. The territory is large and very beautiful. A swimming pool, a gym, a buffet restaurant, a cafe with live music in the evenings. It is located on the ocean shore. If you wish, you can go for a swim.
Not a small hotel. When you arrive, they move you into the old rooms, but if you don't like it, they then change to a new room. The cleaning in the room is so-so, regardless of the tip, they always clean up alone. The food in the hotel is good, but there are a lot of spicy dishes, few pastries, only tea from drinks, (there are juices for breakfast).
The hotel does not have a beach, there are huge stones and there is always a red flag hanging. You will swim there only in the pool, there are several of them. When you leave the territory, tuk-tuks are on duty there, I suggest taking you wherever you want, they say the price is too high, you can bargain and negotiate 2 times cheaper, they will take you and bring you. There is nothing to do at the hotel in the evening, just drink alcoholic beverages.
In general, the hotel is good, there would be a beach, I would put 5 stars
We were at the hotel on a two-day excursion on March 15-16, 2024, delicious breakfasts-lunches-dinners, live music - Horse Lube, etc.))) Very clean and pleasant service.
Excellent hotel, respect to the head chef - dishes for every taste, a huge selection and excellent quality, friendly staff. Minus one is the lack of a beach.
A very nice hotel, the territory is super!
Amateur food....
Minus - the beach is closed (washed away by the ocean)
During the season, swimming is possible on the neighboring beaches.
A wonderful hotel. It's just amazing for Asia. Good rooms, delicious varied food. The staff is friendly and attentive. A large swimming pool, the sea is a 3-minute walk away. Thanks for the vacation! We were very satisfied! Those who are going for a relaxing holiday, go to Tangerine!
We had a vacation in July 2023, when it's the rainy season on this half of the island. In general, the weather was rainy in places, but not all day, there were many sunny days, so do not be afraid to go.
The hotel itself is very pleasant, the territory is well maintained, there is a children's pool, delicious breakfasts and dinners, more people come on weekends and the menu becomes more diverse. Very tasty desserts, cool local yogurt kurd (curd) for breakfast, with honey and fruits in general, fire, on the roads it is sold in clay pots and is made from buffalo milk. Papaya is better watered with lime juice, it tastes better this way). An inexpensive SPA, but you need to make an appointment in advance. The only thing is that the waves are in the ocean, so you can not buy from the hotel, but you can take a tuk-tuk to Bentota, there are beaches where there are reefs and waves.)
Excellent service, a swimming pool with sun beds and a towel, a beach in the neighboring territory, admission is free, it is difficult to swim-a strong wave. The rooms are clean, cleaning is daily, breakfast is acceptable. The territory and interiors are well maintained, there are many trees.
We are resting in this hotel now, we are leaving tomorrow. Nice hotel, helpful and friendly staff. Cleaning is daily, although we do not understand each other, but any issues are resolved quickly.
There are excellent bartenders at the pool, and in the restaurant too. The food is monotonous, but there is always something to choose from, no one was left hungry. The territory is fenced, but otherwise you would be annoyed by local merchants. Access to the ocean, please. We are satisfied, thanks to the hotel staff. And prosperity. We've been to a lot of places, and there's something to compare, but if there's a claim to something, it's Asia, guys. You are flying and you understand that you are not flying to Monaco, so what are the claims, Asia is beautiful as it is
Everything seems to be wrong, in general it is normal for 4 stars, but the air conditioners could be better for such an area. Unfortunately, the beach at the hotel has been washed away and it is necessary to go to other beaches. The staff is friendly, the only thing that is constantly expected from you is a tip, which is obvious
Very cozy hotel. It's a pity that the beach was washed away, but it doesn't matter, two minutes on foot to the left and the beach is there again), 15 minutes by tuk-tuk and you're in the lagoon, without waves. Kalutara is a very nice little town, with a good-natured local population.
I do not recommend the hotel. The rooms are old, they smell damp. The food is normal, delicious, but very monotonous
But the saddest thing is that there is no beach and no access to the ocean. The hotel is fenced with a chain-link fence, and it is impossible to go beyond it. There are boulders behind it. We went swimming on a tuk-tuk to other villages
Gorgeous! No comments! The only drawback is that there is no private beach, the passage to the ocean shore is closed. The way out is to walk outside the hotel and ...

Nice hotel. Beautiful rooms. Very helpful staff. There are Russian speakers. Good menu. They separate spicy food from ordinary food. However, all drinks except water are paid. The neighboring 5* looks prettier from the outside, but the locations inside are still more beautiful in "Tangerine". A huge number of weddings come here to be photographed.
The hotel is not bad, but it does not pull for 4 stars. The rooms are old, it smells damp. One of the advantages is good nutrition, but monotonous. The main disadvantage of the hotel is that it does not have a beach!!! Fence and stones. I had to go to the beach by tuk tuk.
One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka.A large cozy area with numerous animals running around in the face of chipmunks, monitor lizards, herons.Great pool.Delicious food and natural juices.
We chose Sri Lanka to relax and explore the country.I chose the hotel by pointing my finger at the promotional hotels on the date of purchase of the tour, the time before departure is 5 days, there is not much time to think or delve into it.Referring to the reviews, having flipped through the information with the agent in 5 minutes, I felt that Tangerine would do, Honestly, I did not expect much.Having been to Goa more than once, we calmly prepared for everything with our spouse. We drive for the sake of the ocean and relaxation. But after checking into the hotel and spending a day here, we realized that we were delighted!!We got more than we expected dozens of times!!The rooms are spacious with decent, even very, renovation for such a country.Nice balcony and furniture.Daily cleaning, refrigerator, kettle, air conditioner and fan, safe, everything is working properly.Honestly, not every Turkey and Egypt is like this..The breakfasts were enjoyed separately, in a variety, a lot of things, a restaurant with panoramic windows overlooking the ocean. The service is attentive. We took only breakfast, families with children come to *all inclusive; reviews of lunches and dinners are enthusiastic. The territory is green, lush, with ponds in which fish swim. The pool is nice.Sun beds and towels are provided.Squirrels, chipmunks, egrets, jaguars are running around the territory. There is no beach as such, but you can find somewhere in the ocean to jump on the waves. We have four days of rest left here, and I will say that we are satisfied with the hotel!!!
They tried to move into a terrible dungeon on the 1st floor. The receptionist lied that there were no other rooms. We've come to sort it out. It turned out that the numbers appeared in a wonderful way))) the room was still not very good, but at least on the 3rd floor.
The food is spicy almost all, but delicious ice cream and breakfasts.
The beach has completely washed away, now you need to go to the neighboring beach of another hotel.
There are a lot of locals on this beach who impose their services, the hotel administration does not solve this problem in any way.
Spa and massage fire!!
In general, the hotel is cozy, very pleasant staff, delicious cocktails, not a lot of people
I liked the hotel. We took everything included. Seafood was served every day. For lunch and dinner. It came as a surprise to us to put a signature on a zero receipt for alcohol. The food is delicious, the desserts. But there is a lot of spicy food and you don't understand where it is. Although we were told it was European on the right. But there was also a very sharp one. The bar is excellent, the quality of the drinks is excellent. Don't be greedy, pour as much as you want. The room was huge, plumbing, balcony, everything is fine. The territory is large, pleasant, many animals have been seen. The hotel does not have a beach, but there is a wild one just to the left. There is a great entrance to the ocean, but the waves, we swam and swam, but many are afraid. It's a little dirty there, for some reason no one cleans it. But in general, people are mostly such that you should always be on the lookout.)). You will understand.
It's a great place. Everything is very clear, correct and well organized. It is beautiful, very clean, wherever it is possible to decorate using natural materials - flowers, stones. Chipmunks run around the territory, herons and other birds walk, there is a fountain and a pool with huge fish. The staff is very friendly and diligent. Round-the-clock security. A variety of breakfasts with European and Lankan menus
Excellent location, spacious swimming pool, good entrance to the ocean. Rooms of average comfort. On the ground floor, instead of a balcony, there is a small terrace with access to the garden or pool.
Please note that all rooms are for two, an extra bed is provided for three for free, and a fourth bed is available for an additional fee ($4 per day), even if you have confirmed four people staying.
The food is acceptable, there is European and Asian cuisine. A very diverse selection of fruits (pineapple, papaya and watermelon). There is an all-inclusive option, I advise you to take it.
The biggest disadvantage is no service, starting from the reception, to waiters, bartenders, cleaning, etc. - they do not have the task of providing comfort to guests, and generally do not want to move at all. Because of this, I don't want to go to Sri Lanka anymore, because this is a mentality, not a problem of a particular hotel.
