Contrary to the Orient Express, the station does not meet expectations. It is amazing how the coastal strip near the Sultan's palaces of Topkapi was squeezed out under his path, and not the "tunel" was dug out, as they did on Galata.
Sirkeci railway station is now just a modern convenient stop and transfer to an underground train, not a metro, but an underground train.
The station is closed for long-distance trains. Only commuter trains leave from it. There is a free Turkish Railway museum at the station. There is a nice steam locomotive near the station.
