The Church of the Holy Trinity in Gervyaty fascinates with its architectural grandeur! It's more modest inside, but it's also very beautiful.
The church is functioning, so you just need to attend a service with organ music. I will tell you in confidence that there is no organ in the church, but those who do not understand will not notice the difference.
The time of the service, by the way, differs from the one stated on the website. On Sundays, for example, the service is not at 12.00, but at 13.00. Which is not a little important, because it is very cold in the church and you can freeze up in an hour of waiting. On the territory, among many other sculptures, there are two painted figures of a master woodcarver, who is now "creating" in the workshop of the Korobchitsy shopping center.
The church impresses with its architecture, the Gothic style in which it is made expresses the delight of the people who built it and tried their best to do it so qualitatively and well that it still pleases us with its power.
We were on Sunday, got to the service, listened to the organ, the singing of the church choir and the confession of the priest, which can be heard throughout the church due to the technical equipment of the temple
I advise you to definitely visit, I think there are not many such impressive places in our country👍
From a tourist point of view, a great place. I was very pleased with the trip. Very beautiful and well-maintained territory. Take animal food with you, there is one cat and one dog walking on the territory, apparently blind in one eye, when there was nothing to treat them with:(
And if you are also a Catholic, then it will make sense not only in terms of tourism. I recommend you to visit if you do not have time for long excursions on the day of the trip.
An amazing place, the church looks so majestic that you can't take your eyes off it! The amazing beauty of the Church, which can be viewed on the territory of Belarus, so we do not regret that we came at all! The territory is very well maintained, there are a lot of unusual plants, especially conifers, I wanted to take pictures of everything)) definitely a must-have for visiting!
It is a very beautiful church. The size and beauty are impressive. It is also beautiful and neat near the church. Different plants and trees grow. There is a fantan. There are benches where you can sit and take a photo. Inside the church, you can buy a candle or an icon. I advise you to visit.
A wonderful place, a very beautiful church, you can go inside and see, there is a very beautiful garden around the church, many figures, trees of bizarre shapes, incredible beauty! There is a playground next to the church! I recommend it!
No wonder this place is called little Switzerland in Belarus. Very sincere, beautiful, with an interesting story! A must-visit!!!! Cleanliness is a common thing for the whole republic, it should not even be noted! It's nice to feel love and care everywhere!
Good day. What to say is beautiful!Excellent, well-maintained territory.Like a small park with statues .The church itself was closed. As if they hadn't seen it inside. It's gorgeous from the outside. If you walk a little further down the road, there is a cafe near the bridge over the stormy river. The view is also good and the cafe is excellent.I recommend you to visit.Lenochka liked it.Thank you.
The Church of the Holy Trinity in Gervyaty.
✝🍂⛪🍂✝
The Catholic parish has existed since the 16th century. The first parishioners visited a small wooden church, but in 1899 the Lithuanian architect Vaclav Mikhnevich began to build a large stone church on this site.
More than 70 people were involved in the construction of the church. Bricks were brought from a nearby factory, founded specifically for the construction of the temple, and lime was mined in the Losha River. Roof tiles were supplied from Germany. The construction was finally completed in 1903.
In the entire history of the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Gervyaty, it has never been seriously destroyed.
The church belongs to the Neo-Gothic architectural style. It has characteristic buttresses and archbuttons – elements of supports protruding from the outside of the building. The windows have a narrow pointed shape. Thanks to the 61–meter bell tower, the Church of the Holy Trinity is one of the tallest buildings in Gervyaty and in the whole of Belarus.
Next to the temple there is a landscape park - the Garden of the 12 Apostles, thanks to which the Church of the Holy Trinity in Gervyaty is described as "little Switzerland" or "Belarusian Notre Dame".
In the center of the park there is a sculpture of St. Michael the Archangel striking the evil One with a spear, and along the perimeter there are twelve evangelical Apostles. Flower beds and lawns, elegant benches and slender lanterns, paved paths and a wrought–iron fence - it's like entering the garden of a European royal residence.
Four wooden crosses with complex and unusual carvings rise among the trees of the park. Crosses have been erected in honor of significant events. This is a native Lithuanian tradition.
Inside, the church consists of three naves – rooms separated from each other by columns, and one transept – a transverse space creating a cruciform shape.
The interior of the Trinity Church is fascinating. Icons, sculptures of saints and stained glass windows create a strict, peaceful atmosphere of a classical Catholic church.
3 altars, shaped like the church itself, are made in a pure Gothic style. They depict Saints Paul and Peter, Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Wooden figures of Dismas and Gestas can also be seen in the temple.
There is an ancient organ in the church, brought to Gervyaty by order from Europe. Excellent acoustics allow you to fully enjoy spiritual music.
It's not the first time we've been to this place. It is very beautiful and atmospheric. The area around is a particularly huge work, it is clear that they invested with their soul. It's quiet and peaceful inside, exactly what you want to feel in a church. If someone has not been there yet, then it is definitely worth adding to the vish-list)
The church is very beautiful. We did not regret that we had come a long way to see this beauty. There is a very well-groomed area around, it's nice to just walk there. They got into the church, they were the only ones there. We walked around and looked at everything calmly.
Catholic churches are famous for their architectural diversity and some redundancy of external and internal appearance. To the Russian eye, such places of worship are unusual and amazing. A very beautiful and well-maintained park, there is a genre sculpture in the landscape. A massive stone structure, without heating, so it's cold inside in any season, get dressed to visit and inspect inside.
Overall, the place is beautiful. The village of Gervyaty is clean, the road to the church is straight, it can be seen from afar. The area around is very well maintained. The church itself is unusual, of course! I don't know if it's worth coming here because of him, but we need to stop by on the way! There are 2 souvenir shops nearby. The cafe next to the church was not working.
An amazing experience! This cathedral stands in the middle of a small village! It is very beautiful inside and a wonderful garden outside! Organ concerts are held there!
A very beautiful castle. Both the architecture and the landscape design around are fascinating. Be sure to look at everything inside the church and put a candle. I recommend it))
It is very beautiful, both outside and inside. The priest conducted a short tour, told about the Church, about the service. Many wedding couples come to take photos in this wonderful place
It's like someone lost a gold watch in the woods, like a "Roadside Picnic.".. The zone, the zone of visiting this region by aliens)))
It is so unusual to see this majestic church in an agricultural town among cornfields.
But even he himself would not have been so impressed, there are few abandoned palaces and temples, without a beautiful park, a landscape masterpiece around the building.
It's only 5 km from the main highway, and we were driving from Grodno to St. Petersburg, and you get to the center of Europe.
English lawns, mountain pines, beautiful sculptures, a huge centuries-old oak, a fountain... There are no words, especially when you understand what resources it is worth to keep such beauty in perfect condition! Just a fairy tale, an oasis in a dense forest 👍
The Church of the Holy Trinity, one of the tallest churches in Belarus - its height (including the bell tower) is 61 meters, which makes it the third tallest Belarusian churches. The temple was built in the Neo-Gothic style by local residents of the small village of Gervyaty. They built a brick factory for this purpose and from 1899 to 1903 they built this beautiful temple. At least 70 people were involved in the construction of the temple every day. Lime was taken from them near the flowing Losha River. A special technology for the production of durable material was also invented: chicken eggs were added to it, which the locals had to hand over without fail. Purposeful residents even changed the course of the Losha River when it turned out that the water coming from it was eroding the soil under the foundation.
The roof of the church is made of tiles, which were specially imported from Germany. It is surprising that over the years of its existence, the church has never been seriously damaged: neither from natural disasters, nor from revolutions, nor from wars.
The service is conducted in three languages - Belarusian, Polish and Lithuanian.
Inside the church there is an ancient organ, which was made by European craftsmen to order. The distinctive feature of this temple is the incredible acoustics. Organ concerts are often held here.
There is a French-style landscape park in front of the temple, thanks to Leonid Nestyuk, who came to serve in the church of the Holy Trinity. As abbot, he not only took care of the condition of the interior of the temple, but also seriously engaged in the exterior.
He removed the old trees surrounding the building so that the church could be clearly seen from afar in all its splendor. And he set up a small arboretum around the building, 500 species of plants grow in it. There are especially many conifers here: thuja, juniper, cypress. There is even a relict gingko biloba tree.
And in the center of the park there is a sculpture of the archangel Michael, and around the garden there are sculptures of the twelve disciples of Christ.
The rector Leonid Nestyuk himself died in 2017. His grave is located in the garden next to the temple.
I really liked it.
Tall, 61 m, beautiful, with a wonderful indoor garden.
Inside there is a traditional Catholic decoration.
I was very surprised that Mass began at 12 p.m. and 20 minutes later it was over, it was Saturday.
The place is very beautiful, calm and peaceful. I was struck by the splendor of the decoration and the presence of Orthodox icons. Thank you very much for this approach to believers.
A beautiful Church with the tallest spire, external restoration work is underway, so that the facade was in scaffolding. The temple is functioning, you can go inside. Inside it is neat without excessive pomp. Come, I recommend it.
A very beautiful place!!! There are a lot of visitors. There is something to see and have a good time. It is especially good on a warm evening to walk under a wonderful conversation 😉
+ Another place in our country worthy of recommendations to visit!!!
It's a very beautiful place. After the visit, there was only admiration and delight at how everything is neat and well maintained in this area. I want to go there again.
I'm shocked! The grandest beautiful structure of the Notre Dame level! The park area is very stylish and well-groomed, it's nice to sit, it's just a pity that most of the shops are turned away from
From a tourist's point of view. A very beautiful church, indeed there is a similarity with Notre Dame Cathedral, a beautiful area around! I advise you to take a look!
A place that amazed us with its beauty and scale. A very cozy mini-park around the church. Behind the church there is a river and a bridge where you can admire nature.
There are two souvenir shops and coffee shops nearby.
Just a masterpiece of architecture. Ready for viewing... Absolutely!!!! A feeling of goosebumps on the skin. I am an Orthodox person, but this church just lures, there is no strength to resist. Stunning territory, well-groomed plants and trees. We were on a day off and local parishioners sang prayer songs to the sound of the organ. I turned off altogether, my son was scared (he was 3 years old)))) I definitely recommend it!!!!
An absolutely incredible miracle is wonderful! Indeed, the most beautiful church in Belarus. Moreover, it is located in an ordinary village and is an ordinary functioning temple in this area. The church itself is absolutely incredible both inside and out! Plus a well-groomed territory-a park around. Definitely a must-visit!
This is probably the most beautiful Church or any other religious task in the Republic of Belarus.
there are many kinds of exhibition structures, monuments, sculptures and graves. There are many details in all this that I want to consider and understand their meaning. I definitely advise you to visit
We learned about this church in Minsk, at the Museum of Miniatures. It looks very beautiful in person. There is a small parking lot nearby. There is a small park around the church, with various figures, its area is not very large, you can get around everything with photography in an hour. There is a cafe down the street where, according to reviews, you can eat tasty and inexpensive food, but we did not get there, because the institution has a lunch break. There is a bio toilet next to the cafe. Various souvenirs are sold across the street from the church.
The church was built in the Neo-Gothic style in 1899-1903. It is so grandiose that a whole brick factory was equipped nearby for its construction. The height of the bell tower is 61 meters. The church is one of the three tallest churches in Belarus. Expressive architecture and interior decoration. It is definitely necessary to visit this amazing place.
It is a very beautiful place, I advise everyone to visit it. Little Notre Dame de Paris. Beautiful architecture, manicured lawns, I really liked everything
Definitely one of the most beautiful or not the most beautiful castel in the Republic of Belarus. It's also very beautiful inside. There is a park around. The place is definitely worth a visit.
It is a very beautiful place, the architecture is simply fabulous. The infostructure is not developed, which adds a sense of privacy. There is a very well-groomed area around, with various compositions. It's worth a look
A very beautiful, well-maintained Church is no worse than some European ones. Beautiful area around. Alas, there is nothing else remarkable in this place and, in my opinion, it is irrational to go just for it. But if you are nearby, be sure to visit
This place is just super, no matter how many times I visit it, every time I get new emotions and wonder at its power and splendor. It is pleasant to listen to the organ and the history of this temple.
It's a great place. A beautiful church. The highest in Belarus.
Even when traveling by car, do not pay attention to the sign Hervyaty 13 km will lead along the primer. We were ambushed in 2015 and this year in 2024. It is better to drive a little on asphalt than on a primer.
An incredibly beautiful, unreal church!
We examined it from the outside and went inside.
Very big! You need to visit such places and know a little history.
I advise you!
The tallest church in Belarus! It looks incredible. It is definitely worth going. Think over a snack in advance, and if you are traveling from Minsk on the way back, it is convenient to stop in Smorgon for ice cream! I sincerely recommend it!!
It is very beautiful, it is called the Belarusian Notre Dame. Nearby there is a well-groomed territory, many interesting plants, sculptures, wooden crosses. The facade is currently under restoration, there are scaffolding. It's beautiful inside too
It's very beautiful, I recommend going there. We were in the rain, but it's still beautiful, especially around the church. There is a place to take a picture.
A beautiful church, both inside and outside. There is a large surrounding area, there is something to see. They are conducting an interesting tour. Currently, the main tower is under reconstruction
Visually, the most beautiful church in Belarus is a must-visit. It deserves to build a path through it, because it is located far from popular cities and highways.
