We underwent sensory integration at the Edelweiss center. The child is normotypic, he was preparing to work with a speech therapist. We started studying with Angelika Evlashevich. After class on the 4th, the child said and smeared his hand with a slap on the ass that he was "hit like that" on the ass. I already thought that such a thing does not exist nowadays. So leave the baby without a parent. And classes are expensive. Although the teacher left a very pleasant impression about herself
We went to a psychologist with the child. I really liked the attitude and qualifications of the specialist. I immediately found an approach to the child, although it is not easy, solved a difficult situation, taught how to cope with such situations. I recommend it!
We took the child to classes with two specialists regularly, an aba and a speech therapist. We also visited a neuropsychologist, a sensory room.
In general, there were 5-6 classes a week for two months. The result is that the specialists did not find an approach. That is, the classes did not take place, although the child was alone with the teacher for the full time of each lesson.
The child roared almost every lesson, often, the whole lesson. At the same time, the approach of specialists remained the same, they persistently offered tasks to the child, not knowing the diagnosis, whether their child understands.
In the Grodno Edelweiss, we were "diagnosed" by specialists of pedagogical qualification. And today one diagnosis, tomorrow another! A neurologist in the same Edelweiss did not notice any peculiarities in development..
As a result, the speech therapist said that the child was not their profile, sent to some Russian city (I don't remember). To osteopaths. With the words "does not feel where the legs and arms are." Which is complete and final nonsense.
We lost time, a lot of material, a lot of emotional, physical resources. And we lost several months restoring the resources of trust and strength after an unforgettable experience in this center! The attitude towards aba therapy has become sharply negative as a one-sided method, in which form it is presented in the Grodno Edelweiss.
We found a good specialist in another center. And then an even more effective specialist for us. And now we are working with an even more professional and experienced specialist, in our opinion.
The difference is in the individual approach, the observation of the child (because such children are very different, diagnoses are difficult to distinguish, and RAS, for example, is a poorly studied area). At the same time, the specialists at Edelweiss were very self-confident. Which, at first, was encouraging.
By the way, neither neurologists nor other specialists have observed any problems with the child's sensations, arms and legs, neither in public medical and psychiatric departments, nor in private ones.
We took the child to the Grodno Edelweiss in 2019, then he was at the address September 17, 29. Now, perhaps, the composition of specialists has changed more than once. But we still periodically hear that specialists are not fully trained in Grodno Edelweiss.
For me, the Edelweiss period was the hardest. There were fewer and fewer forces to restore the baby's condition after the lesson. With the already serious overload of a child with ASD, the child screamed in class. That made me sleep even less.
On the one hand, it is obvious that in stress the child will understand and assimilate little, because his focus will be on what worries him. On the other hand, it was necessary to take into account other opinions, not only his own. Especially the opinion of the second caring responsible parent who wants to help his child. And since the Grodno Edelweiss is highly praised, not to take the child there for our family would end badly.
(I just wrote my opinion and we definitely went to Edelweiss in Grodno. Do not answer in the feedback that I confused the center and these specialists did not work for you. Firstly, it is not pleasant to read, and secondly, these specialists are mentioned in your reviews.
I leave my review as a recommendation to parents to be more attentive).
Professionals work. A wide range of services for children. I really liked the work of Marina's sensory therapist. The child was delighted with the lessons.
It is also a pleasure to communicate with Director Tatiana. Friendly, ready to help with advice and the selection of a convenient time.
The only drawback is the difficulty with parking.
It is worth choosing this center if your child has developmental problems. The specialists are mostly quite competent. They will always help you choose a convenient time, if necessary, they will put you on the waiting list. The only thing was a disgusting repair on September 17th, now the cent has moved to another address.
The specialists are good, but one big minus is discussing children among themselves!(in a bad way)I have witnessed the complaints of my parents more than once
An excellent development center. We really like Marina from sensory integration and Diana, a speech pathologist. Professionals in their field, and just nice people. When choosing a psychologist, I advise you to ask to partially record classes with your child, as they may exaggerate your child's achievements. And so, in general, the quality of services and service is excellent.
