You walk past the Koço restaurant and do not suspect that there is a secret corner inside it. One has only to go down the marble stairs… The valiant fishermen of this year in 1924 are also walking right here. Mind you, 100 years ago! And suddenly, water will pour out of the ground! Holy one!!! Why a saint? Because there was an icon and the ruins of an old church nearby. The icon was immediately recognized as an icon of St. Catherine and how let's rejoice. Because they were Greek fishermen, our Orthodox ones. They put a wooden building over the spring, open to visitors as a church. The icon was placed there and let's come to pray. And fall down to the holy spring. Over time, the embankment was built up, many cafes and restaurants opened, and our church turned out to be right under a Turkish restaurant and even with a casino. The restaurant owners are willing to let you inside and show you the way. And they even monitor the safety of the church. Patronage is provided by the Greek Orthodox Church. A large icon of St. Catherine in a silver frame, many other icons, candles, a tap with holy water - that's what you can see in this small church. It is the size of a small room. The Internet says that on Mondays the priest performs prayers here. People of all faiths come here and repeat "amen" to him, put candles and make wishes. Some of these people believe and pass on the following by word of mouth: Saint Catherine could not meet the one she loved. Her spirit still haunts here. If you make a wish to meet your lover, it will never be fulfilled. Because our Catherine, nee Dorothea, loved only Christ, whom it is not possible to meet during her lifetime. She resolutely rejected the emperor's courtship and the offer to renounce her faith, for which she was brutally tortured. She remained a virgin forever. She managed to convert several hundred people to the Christian faith, including all sorts of philosophers of those times. It was in the IV century in Egypt. All of them were executed too. But it is believed that St. Catherine guarantees that your wishes regarding business and money will be fulfilled immediately. The place is extraordinary and causes very tremulous feelings. From the noisy crowd, you suddenly find yourself on an island of peace and quiet. You plunge into grace, you are filled with the divine and you return to the world of everyday life a little bit by another person.
