The girl and I went to see Malta and get a US visa there (now for our citizens we have to go all the way there to get it).
I booked and paid for the hotel through a tour agency.
While we were there, I can only give the highest ratings to the hotel management service: everything was done very accurately, courteously, communication was friendly and professional.

All the "fun" started a couple of days after returning.
The manager of the Maya hotel writes to my personal whatsapp that "The bank sent them a request from the agency to refund the payment for our stay. Like what is it like this?"... I was surprised and slightly tense...and at first I didn't even realize - Why should this concern me at all? - I am a client of the travel agency and a client of the hotel, not a payer of the hotel and not a friend of this manager - to write this to me at all. I didn't pay directly to the hotel... - There is a relationship between the hotel and the tour agency.
And so, due to my natural sense of responsibility, I immediately replied to the manager himself that this was probably some kind of mistake, and began to request information from the agency about what was happening... At this time, Maya's manager continued to bombard every 2-3 hours with messages that the tour. the agency did not immediately respond to her, that she would have to contact the police, hand over copies of our passports to the police, video from the cameras at the hotel - that we were staying there and....ATTENTION - contact the American Embassy (!))) Further, during this and the following day, she repeated this information in various configurations, adding there that..."So now I have to pay out of my pocket. I don't suspect you-and that's what I told the police... You couldn't be scammers."
I have my life going on at this time, a lot of my daily chores, problems... - and I answer her all this....stream of consciousness, for each message, I request information from the agency.....and every 3-4 hours I see kilometers of messages from her that she does not have immediate explanations from the agency, threats to me by the police, writes between the lines that I am almost a participant in some kind of fraudulent scheme.
In my answers to her, I noted the following: "So far, you and I do not know for sure whether there was such a request from the agency, or whether it was a banking error. I didn't pay to the hotel and certainly not to you personally, I paid to the agency. This is not a million dollar question.The euro is to react as if it is the end of the world. I confirm and do not deny that I stayed at your hotel, I can also confirm at the request of the police - if necessary. I am definitely not a fraudster and I find it insulting to myself to hint at this, Other than that, I do not understand why you want to contact the Americas.The embassy? - To be deprived of our visa, or for what?" ))
In response, the manager Maya said that she almost had a heart attack, that the bank demanded a refund of 1,450 euros from the hotel for accommodation, then asked me (- the hotel client!) to give her the tour agency's website, she mentioned the names of some employees at the agency who corresponded with her and paid for us, which I did not know about, but in her opinion I should have known))
As a result, after another tantrum, accusations from the manager, my patience broke, I wrote to her that I kindly ask her to stop taking responsibility for everything that happens on me, that I was already helping her clarify the situation - although I shouldn't have been doing this at all, that I was not a fraud and fulfilled my obligations to the hotel - having paid for accommodation at the agency and that as soon as I have new information on the situation, I will let her know. - In response, the manager wrote to me not to write to her anymore (this is after the fact that she herself wrote me kilometers of messages for two days in a row, and after I helped her LOL))) that she thanks me for my assistance and wishes me good luck. And she immediately blocked me in WhatsApp. ))) - In short, "Thank you, I went to ......")
Two days later, the agency contacted the hotel, and three days later they wrote back to me that yes, they sent such a request, but this was the result of a misunderstanding between the hotel and the agency, and it has already been eliminated, everything is settled.
Maya's manager has still not been in touch and has not offered any apologies.
