An amazing museum! The exposition is bright, not huge and not small. Two floors of magnificent works. The portraits of the artists turned out to be especially good. The entrance is only 1000 drams, and the pleasure was incredible! There is a souvenir shop, where they took a few postcards as a keepsake.
A wonderful museum. Downstairs there is a chamber courtyard where you can sit and chat, on the second floor there is a well-organized exposition with rich content for such a scale. The paintings of the Aslamazyan sisters left a deep impression
A small museum, you can get around everything in half an hour or an hour, but it gives you the opportunity to get a better look at each painting. I really liked the portraits. These are mostly portraits of very poor people, representatives of simple professions (milkmaid, tobacco leaf collectors). There are paintings based on the sisters' travels to quite exotic countries even by modern standards (and even more so in Soviet times) and acquaintance with their culture and way of life.
A wonderful museum. The paintings of the Aslamazyan sisters are an important part of the cultural heritage, they are unique, if not in technique, but in themes. Few Armenian artists painted women in this way, not as muses, angels, mysterious seductresses or sacred virgins, but simply as people.
The only wish is to expand the assortment in the souvenir shop, please, the most popular paintings turned out to be without reproductions :)
It was a great place, there were no people, no excursions, which allowed us to examine each work at our own pace in silence. The entrance does not cost much. Almost all the works are signed in Armenian and English. The courtyard inside is cozy, also worth special attention. There was a very strong smell of paint or varnish, some work was being done nearby.
A very nice gallery.
The explanatory texts are detailed and clear. A guided tour is available for an additional fee.
At first, you can get confused about where Yeranui's painting is and where Mariam's painting is, but then you start to see that the artists have completely different styles and characters.
I'll come back.
