If you are bored with Phuket, you can leave the island 50 kilometers to the north and stay in the resort area located on the west coast of the Andaman Sea. It is from here that the closest way to get to
the famous Similan Islands is.
Khao Lak in 2004 was hit harder than other regions of Thailand by the tsunami — the entire infrastructure of the resort was destroyed. That's why we stayed in this boring place for just one night. They were looking for people on the beach, they went to the market by "train". Definitely not Patong. Of the interesting things, I liked the high observation deck with a view of the rocks.
I noticed that the further away from Phuket, the more natural the smiles of Thais become, the price tag for food is lower, the portions are larger, monitor lizards run across the road, snakes crawl over and nature is greener and more beautiful.
