This is not a prison at all, but a garrison guardhouse - in simple terms, a "lip". The object has a very interesting history. From the moment of its construction (the beginning of the last century) until 1997, the building was used as a correctional facility for military personnel. The military of tsarist Russia, the USSR, and even Wehrmacht soldiers served their sentences here during the occupation of the city of Liepaja. The guardhouse became a museum in 2002. We've been here too. An interesting tour was conducted by a former employee of this commandant's office, Juris.
