The Motherland is a sculpture, the compositional center of the monument-ensemble "To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd. It is one of the tallest statues in the world, with a height of 85 meters. The sculpture depicts a woman with a raised sword, representing her Homeland, who calls her sons to fight the enemy.

Motherland - well, I probably liked this architectural monument. I won't say that I expected exactly this, but in principle it will do. In Volgograd, the Motherland looks much more interesting and more monumental, but here it's like that - for a C grade.
There are more interesting monuments in Kiev than this one.

Homeland_ Mother on Mamaev Kurgan in Volgograd! Oh, my God!!! There is such a huge complex with an eternal flame and a guard! The entire wall is carved in a circle with golden letters of the heroes buried on this mound! No tears, no way...

The Motherland is a popular place in Kiev, which is a grandiose monument-sculpture erected on the right bank of the Dnieper in 1981. The monument is dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. It impresses with its huge size and is surrounded by a picturesque park, where adults and children enjoy walking. In addition, you can visit an interesting museum exposition about the historical facts of the 1941-1945 war.

The legendary monument-Museum of the Second World War. A huge number of exhibits and expositions, small arms, documents, awards. On the territory of the complex there is an open museum of armored vehicles and aviation, a museum of the Afghan war. I definitely recommend it!
