Guys, we were able to quickly inspect the object only from the outside. The visit does not make sense due to excessive politicization and one-sided presentation of the topic. There's nothing special outside. Just a modern building made of glass and concrete.
Decide for yourself…
Did you really use the slabs from the demolished monuments to lay out the porch with them? Is it a part of your culture? And what kind of normal person can step onto such a porch without shuddering to get inside? And if such an abomination starts from the porch, then what's inside? And what's inside, in the minds of those who thought of it? You're sick.
It's a very interesting museum. Very objective information without a drop of propaganda. 3 hours passed unnoticed. If you're in Riga, be sure to come by, you won't regret it!
It is interesting to visit ONE museum about the occupation, but when you see another liberator on every street and the misfortune that the USSR or RI brought is written. It's too much, it's time to go to the hospital.
Everything is very OK with the museum, it was interesting to visit

It's a funny place. Tours are only in Latvian or English (maybe something has already changed). Submission of information directly according to American manuals. I tried to look like a Chinese in the tour group all the way, but I still got burned 😄

It is strange that the sane, and most of them, Latvians did not tear down the sign with the name of this "museum". After all, there is an imposition of the country's history distorted by the "right" angle for Americans! Under the Soviets, there was a prosperous republic with a large amount of industry, first-class audio equipment, cars, and so on were produced here. What is the situation with these enterprises now?.. Young people are forced to look for work outside their country..
The museum is currently closed. I recommend visiting the Museum of Military History near the Powder Tower. There is free admission and an interesting exposition.
Everything has been rewritten, a lot has been redone and even more lies!

I do not consider it necessary to have an institution that distorts the history of friendship and cooperation between the Baltic States and the Russian Federation
It's a very cool museum. The staff is very polite and well-disposed. Russian Russian translation When they found out that I speak only Russian, they offered me folders with Russian translations of the expositions.
Everything that is interactive is translated into Russian by default.
Thanks to this museum, it becomes very clear what some representatives of our ancestors have done in Latvia, how much pain we have brought them and why there will be no pure reconciliation without repentance on our part.
Latvians are great! 👍🏼
Have I visited this place? Yes of course. In this museum, our class was accepted as pioneers. In this museum, as in many others, I was taught to love my homeland, the USSR. Next to the museum, near the monument, there was a memorial watch, where high school students carried a guard of honor and paid tribute to our ancestors who achieved the same rights for all, regardless of wealth and titles.... Today it is a museum of occupation. The exhibits are the same, but the signs have changed. A museum for the study of common history. Occupation - but just enter a demonstration in Latvia for joining the USSR into the search engine and a sea of photos comes out. Something is not visible on them, we are holding a fence driving peaceful grain growers into the crowd.
I do not advise you to go, they have distorted the whole story

I definitely wanted to go to this museum and, once there, I was not disappointed.
As far as I understand, this museum does not have the entire exposition now, since the main building is under renovation.
Everything is very informative, and I have learned a lot about the history of Latvia. However, at the same time, almost all materials are photos and text, and I would like more variety. You can also watch short films.
I hope that when the museum moves back to its building, the exhibition will become more spectacular.

I don't like places like this, where a great country - the USSR - is being muddied, forgetting what the USSR gave to this republic.
