An authentic hotel on Unawatuna Beach. Convenient location. The furniture is in the colonial style, but tired. The breakfasts are continental, without variety. Indian techno is playing (loudly) in the cafes overlooking the rooms until 10 p.m., because of this stupid music, we have never eaten in a local cafe. Sun beds and umbrellas are provided free of charge on the beach.
In general, it's cute, but without pampering.
Excellent boutique hotel, vacationed with my husband in February 19. A room with access to the communal pool, very convenient, you can use it at any time. The staff is very polite, attentive, they do not speak Russian, English and Google help. Nice people. We were given a souvenir gift in the form of a memorable photo on the background of the hotel in a frame, it was unexpectedly pleasant. The hotel is located on a hill, the shady road to it from the beach does not tire, but the view from the height of Unawatuna pleases the eye. There is nature around, birds are singing, peacocks are cawing, etc. I should mention the service in the restaurant: The highest score for the service to the administrator named Ruan. Breakfast is a buffet, there is a choice, you will not stay hungry. I recommend ordering dinner, it's more expensive than on the beach, but the cleanliness and service are worth it. By the way, do not believe about the theft that I read in the reviews. There was a case with us personally, we went on an excursion for two days and left the safe for plowing, everything to the penny was out of place. The residents of Odessa did not leave a small amount on the table, they also did not touch it. Honest staff.
Once it was the Bomba hotel, well, by Sri Lankan standards. Now it's a shabby hotel with great views. In general, the hotel has everything, barely working Wi-Fi, some kind of gym, two pools with opaque water, a spa area, and wildlife around. But what surprised me, with all this, is the excellent cuisine, whether it's breakfast or dinner. The sea is certainly far away, as it was customary to build excellent hotels in the past away from the possible, unpredictable behavior of nature in this area. In general, I liked it. We were there for a couple of days, we couldn't stand it anymore.
