The area where Beyazit Square was located was called Theodosius Forum in the Roman period. This area, whose history was hundreds of years old, was surrounded by marble-built civil and public buildings, including churches and baths with wide columns. One of the most magnificent places in the area was the 'Victory Arch'. The Triumphal Arch, which had a curved structure made with marble brought from the Marmara islands and had three passage corridors, was located to the west of the forum. The passage corridor in the middle of this work, which was built similar to a triumphal arch found in Rome, was larger than the ones on the edge. In the Middle of I. There is a statue of Theodosius I on both sides of the triumphal arch. There were statues of Arcadius and Honorarius, the sons of Theodosius. There were four columns carrying the passage corridor in the middle and decorated with Hercules figures located on both sides of this corridor. Today, the street (Janissary Street with its current name), which starts in front of Hagia Sophia and moves in a western direction, shaped the main line of the city in the past. This street Theodosius passed through the Arc de Triomphe, continued towards Thrace and reached the outside of the Balkans. The invasions to which the city was subjected, and 5. the Victory Arch, which was heavily damaged as a result of a number of natural disasters such as an earthquake that occurred in the century, and the ancient structures surrounding the Forum, of which there are still some ruins today, were destroyed long before the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul. However, 20. its remains, unearthed as a result of excavations conducted over the century, still give clues about its past glory.

The place is not marked in any way. There are just some big rocks lying around and that's it.
