The airport is small. You can only sit to a clean area in a cafe or on the street (in good weather, it is very pleasant to sit outside). Other than that, there are only a few seats inside the building.
Registration started with us about 2 hours in advance. And they were allowed into the clean zone only when everyone was registered. In general, it is not critical. It's just a little weird.
The lounge is in a clean area, small but comfortable by the standards of large airports. There are duty-free shops and vending machines with coffee and chocolates.
A big plus is the walking distance to the bus station and to Tivat itself.
We have never spent money on a taxi. You can get to any city in Montenegro from the Tivat bus station. Well, or almost to anyone.
Since 2000, almost nothing has changed, in the summer there is a huge flow of people, the airport cannot cope: there are crowds of people in the halls (there are two of them), many are sitting outside, because the air conditioners cannot cope. You're sitting outside in 40 degree heat, and the heat is still from the asphalt. The toilets are dirty.
It is better to arrive at the end of check-in, because there is simply nowhere to wait for the flight, go fly through Podgorica.
The only advantage is that it is close to Budva and other resorts, relative to Podgorica.
It is also worth considering that the airport does not work after sunset, so if the plane from the previous flight is delayed, there is a chance that you will be redirected to Podgorica.
You can make a candy bar from this small airport.
But..... Every season there is a total collapse! To visit this airport during the season is like visiting hell. Crowds, people, it's not clear where to go, the heat, lack of staff and so on every single year. At the same time, it is not a surprise to anyone in the country that in the season from May to October, a large number of tourists arrive in the country. It would seem that let's think about how to do it better, but why? And so they will come.
In the off-season, the airport is gorgeous!
