The Tower of London Fortress is one of the main attractions of London. It is for Londoners, as the Peter and Paul Fortress is for Overburgers. A rich history is connected with this structure: at various times the fortress was a royal palace, a prison, and a zoo. Now you can see authentic crowns and objects for the coronation of high persons there. And from the fortress wall there is a stunning view of the Tower Bridge.

It is clear that nothing remains of that original Tower. Except for a small part of the destroyed wall in the middle of the complex. There is a lot of renovation, in the sense that the complex was rebuilt, burned, destroyed, rebuilt, burned again and destroyed again. It is understandable, Time has been sharpening stones for hundreds of years. But. Definitely worth a visit. In front of the complex there is a small excursion at the information desks. Including in Russian. Inside you can take an audio guide, not the most informative of course, but it's possible. Due to my innate poverty, I simply "fell on the tail" of an excursion of English schoolchildren. I just followed them, pretending to be a hose. For those who know the language more or less, that's it, yeah. In one of the watchtowers, part of the walls was not restored. I was pleased to see that the technologies of house building in England at the beginning of the 13th century did not differ at all from the Russian ones (I was lucky enough to see them in Suzdal). The inscriptions preserved on the walls in the "prison towers" are quite interesting. By and large, nothing special, like "John Crow 1567 A.D.", but the awareness of five hundred years of graffiti causes certain emotions, yes. There is a small museum of military history and guards at the entrance. I liked that there is no politics in the museum. The Red Army, the Wehrmacht, the Italian Army, and the U.S. Army are simply represented by accessories, standards, and ammunition. If I'm not confusing it with another place, there is a bust of Schicklgruber. Yes. I got to the Queen's Jewelry exhibition. Well, my aunt lived well, what can I say. However, you can't take pictures, or rather you can for money. It seemed to me illogical to pay for the right to capture someone's gorgeous life. Well, there are probably the most important crows in the Tower. They can surpass any lord in prudery. Summary: The Tower is a must-visit.

Well, what can I say, the old castle is like a castle, then there was a prison there, and so on. There is an audio guide in Russian, which is naturally welcome. You need to buy a ticket in advance. The big minus is that there are very, very many backwaters around, but this is now a trend in England, so there is no getting away from it. And, and yet, changing the guard is no good at all, let the guys go to our guys from the Kremlin regiment and learn.
