The beautiful nature of Armenia should not leave you indifferent. In winter, skiing is not bad, in summer there are a lot of greenery, fruits, vitamins, near the gorgeous Lake Sevan!
Well, Gara is beautiful, the land is beautiful, but there is nothing left for people, because the oligarchs have everything, and they say I am mine...That's a bad thing.
Beautiful nature and surrounding landscapes. It is a pity that ski lifts are outdated, slow ascent, chairs without protective screens, it is very unpleasant to climb in windy weather...
Good slopes, lots of rental options, there is a place to eat, an adequate price for such skiing. The only drawback is the slow chairlifts, which are periodically closed due to strong winds
A ski resort for relaxing skiing. The gentle, wide trails are especially comfortable for beginners. The absence of a large number of people in the middle of the week is also encouraging.
The staff on the lifts is not competent, every year is new, they do not know the rules of boarding. They tried to put my 8-year-old daughter alone (on a 2-seater outdoor lift), while I told them several times that do not put the child in, as a result she got scared and fell into a snowdrift behind the lift (we were walking together, and the gate opened only for her, I don't know what they have there it works in one place). I had to, sorry, yell at them, explaining how not to do it. As a result, the child is in tears, and was afraid and hysterical on the descent, although he can ride. There are pseudo instructors who are trying to work not officially. Official in red suits with a yellow vest. The tracks are generally good, but it is difficult for beginners, and boring for those who know how. There is no way that there would be an entirely blue track or an entirely red one. After lunch, there is a huge queue, which many people try to get into early. Near the ticket offices, and in general there is nowhere to lean the skis, only near the cafe (it is difficult to make 2 poles and 2 boards with bars??).
I've been there 2 times. A good resort, usually for beginners, but there is also a place for the experienced to ride. There is a great view of Ararat from above. Good hotels and wonderful Armenian cuisine. Try Sevan crayfish with local beer. What else do you need to relax!
When the snow has just fallen, the wheelchair is beautiful. Slopes of varying difficulty, it is better to arrive at the opening at 9:30 - you will find corduroy and the freeride will not be broken
The trails are regularly trampled and there are no questions about the slopes
There are questions about food outlets and parking. I arrived on Saturday and ordering coffee at a takeaway cafe took about 20 minutes. They locked my car in the parking lot, and I waited for this man for another 20 minutes.
And I drove for about an hour to the highway, because winter tires are not particularly in high esteem here, the front and rear-wheel drive cars created a big traffic jam (
No snow on the slopes. There are no guns. It's cold on the ski lift because of the wind.
The tracks are not all working.
The views are beautiful, especially on Ararat.
inexpensive rental, equipment for 4+. It's free on weekdays, there are no queues
cons: slow lifts (although warm), the toilet and cafe close at exactly 17-30, there is a poor choice in the local cafe and service is slow
a minimal green slide with elements of red, it's hard for the girls, and there are no analogues to move out. The middle of the track is sometimes covered with stones (although this is rare). the tracks are not spent, because of this everything is in bumps, the snow is not packed, it is slippery, then the bumps and plump. there are no fences, you can roll into the forest from the slope.

I really liked everything well, we are glad to come again, nature is fresh air, thank you for being there, as tourists are surprised by the beauty of such
A small resort with good trails for a confident level of skiing. There are no queues at the lifts on weekdays. There are mountains for skittering
The resort is not intended for children. Ideal for adults
Everything is at a very good level, there are a lot of people on weekends, but there is enough space for everyone, it is freer on weekdays. The main thing is to get into the weather and you will get an unforgettable experience!
For beginners, skating is the best thing! But there's trouble with the rental, a lot of nonames, shoes are all about mint. Do not hesitate to ask for everything to be picked up clearly or see for yourself how to set up the equipment correctly, etc. Do not rely on competent instructors, in general it is not bad, everything is as simple as possible. I recommend Elite rental, but also beg for good gear, they have something! You can use a MIR card or cash.
Very slow lifts, where you freeze while climbing, especially if there is wind. The trails are marked with signs, but there are no signs indicating the route numbers. The guys who own it are not some huge capital investments, but it adds convenience, at least it is easier to find. There is no artificial snowmaking system, so the condition of the trails depends on the weather, there was snow norm, there was no snow for a long time - stones and earth.
The resort staff does not monitor safety at all: they do not limit the crowds of people just walking and staring, they go out in groups to the slopes for photographing, blocking the descents and entrances to the lifts. Well, give them zones for selfies already, it will be more convenient for everyone. I regularly see craftsmen rushing down on a slide, without a single attempt to carve. Such an extreme can not only harm himself, but also other people on the track.
Entrances and exits from the resort are parked by cars, which is why traffic jams are gathering. Well, is it really impossible to cooperate with the local traffic police in this matter and arrange parking, especially on weekends?
The conclusion is that you should not go on purpose, but if you are already in Armenia, then come here on weekdays.
Everything is average. There are no places to change clothes, no storage rooms. There are few people, especially in the morning, the bulk of them are pulled up by 13:00. Trails and lifts work according to the weather. There are only armchairs everywhere, it's quite cold in windy weather.
Beautiful view and slopes, but ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE.
It's just a crazy system for buying lifts, built in such a way that if you want to go for a ride after lunch, you don't fit into this system. After lunch, it is not possible to purchase a half-day subscription, you will ask "Why?"I don't have an answer for you. If you purchase a subscription for the number of ascents in this situation, then it does not apply to the "evening skiing", which begins at 18:30. And if you want to finish your lifts the next day, then I have wonderful news for you, your card has been canceled, and you no longer have such an opportunity either.
We arrived in Tsokhkadzor for the first time, the trails are blue-red, good, the lifts are old, they are blown at a height and I want plexiglass glass to cover the top, the prices are small. I recommend
If you like skiing, come here :)) ski pass for the day 13 thousand amd. Rent 5 thousand. The whole day flies by in a minute. It would be great if we closed a little later, 7 hours is not enough for skiing ... considering that you spend 35 minutes climbing on the 2nd cable car. (Mailer wins with his cable cars, of course, but Tsakhadzor has no equal in terms of quality of service and infrastructure in Armenia now)
The wheelchair is not bad. It will do for Armenia. But not so much that it's worth coming here.
One of the disadvantages is very slow lifts. Well, very much. The slope is empty, it is quite possible to get up faster.
The Armenian style service can be traced, of course
I went to the ski center while in Armenia on business. So, it only happened once. Therefore, it is possible that the assessment is not entirely objective, since part of the slopes was closed.
The skiing is not bad, there are not enough tracks, but I did not expect that this was Austria, so I managed to ride. The tracks are smooth, not difficult, soft skating, with elements of red trails, in my opinion. There are not enough lifts, the queues are decent, you roll down from the very top sooner than you climb up. It is better to bring your own inventory, there is a lot at the box office, but the first freshness and prices are too high.
The center has apparently not been updated for a long time.
You can move out several times, but coming for a long ride, for a week, say, I think it will be boring...
I returned from Tsakhkadzor yesterday. I have been very fond of this resort since Soviet times - in summer I wander through the mountains, in winter I ski. Everything is super and the prices don't bite - accommodation, food, and ski rental. Only the cost of instructors is not cheap - 15 thousand drams, and it is not a fact that they are worth the money. The weather was beautiful - snow and sun, -3 in the afternoon, perfect for skiing. The only thing that upsets is the safety of the slopes. There are almost no nets, and where there are, they are stretched on metal rails, and at a meter height. That is, they are almost meaningless - if you fall, you slide into a ditch under the grid in any case, or you fly into the rail with a swing, which happened to me yesterday. It's a good thing it turned out to be bruises, not a fracture, otherwise I would have sued everyone there. And this problem has been around for many years! And all you need to do is buy a normal modern grid and install it correctly, and if you pull it on a metal pole, then you need to at least close it with a sponge. This is an important issue, it needs to be resolved! And so the resort is wonderful for its price
A very old ski slope. The lifts are all open and slow. The tracks will probably be spent once a week. Only 2 lifts were working. Probably in sunny weather it is normal, we had a little snow and wind
A great resort! The longest route is about 8 km. There is also a freeride in the forest. Dress warmly, the lifts are open, the wind is strong. I take hot tea and drink chocolate while I'm eating).
In conditions of almost inaccessible Alps, it is a very good replacement option, especially for beginners and lovers of calm skiing. The trails are long, the instructors are Russian-speaking. There are few people on the lifts. Among the disadvantages are a small amount of snow in the absence of snow cannons, a strong wind at the top, which blows away the natural snow cover. Because of this, there are stones on the tracks in places. My own skis are pathetic because of this, and what is available in several rentals is in a very poor condition. The chairlifts are somewhat slow and without protective visors, when climbing to the top, the wind blows pretty much. All this is compensated by the friendly staff and the opportunity to have a very tasty meal in the village in the evening. Just keep in mind that the country is not rich and the service is appropriate. They should have invested more...
A cool resort except for the lifts, they are slow and more suitable for tourists but not for skiing)the most interesting thing is, of course, the upper stage of the cable car, but it can be closed due to weather conditions.the coolest person is the local guide Aro) and freeride will show you and help you with any questions)it is not difficult to find him, he is always waiting for you at the cafe where music is playing
The slopes are cool. Infrastructure for a C grade. At 5 p.m., everyone was kicked off the slopes, the lifts were stopped, although the sun was still shining. We didn't roll back our skipasses as a result. And they can't be used the next day.
A great place! Unfortunately, I only go there when there is no snow. I imagine what a beauty there is in winter! I have been observing for a long time how tourism is developing in this place. A lot of new things have appeared this year. The new hotel complexes even look very good externally.
I was on a ski trip for the first time, I turned to the instructors (Vuchik and Lucy) - they explained everything to us (to my husband and me), helped, did not offer too much and did not try to raise prices and impose unnecessary services. Very friendly, polite, friendly!
An incredibly atmospheric place, lots of delicious and beautiful cafes. In the evening, many have unobtrusive, pleasant live music, somewhere just a pianist, somewhere a whole group. We were there twice
Our impressions of the ski trip in Tsakhkadzor.
We have been here for as many as 9 days, and we found the most different weather, but we have one conclusion: the slopes are not monitored and cared for properly.
The first days we were in euphoria, and it was like there was grass sticking out on the slope in places, icy ground, and snow somewhere along the edges of the trails.
But when the euphoria passed, we began to wonder why they didn't put snow cannons where the ground was frankly bare, why they didn't trample the slopes.
I note that we saw how the slopes are trampled - right on the ground and on the protruding grass, I wanted to know for what purpose? So that you can say "we'll waste it, everything is OK"?)))
Then we thought, maybe we are so picky, there are people riding somehow, although they are periodically crippled, well, that's okay))
But one day I was riding a ski lift with a man who turned out to be an instructor at this ski resort. And he asked me: "do you like these tracks at all? Are you satisfied with their condition?", and when I shyly replied that they were actually not very comfortable, because they were worn down to the ground in places, he told me that he sincerely did not understand why we vacationers did not complain to the management, because we pay a lot of money for our vacation, but we get this eternal discomfort on the slopes. That they should put up guns, trample THROUGH the SNOW so that the snow was "nailed" to the mountain, and it was not blown into the forest. There shouldn't be such bald spots on the descent, it's not dangerous, after all!
And I completely agree with him, that's why I'm writing this review now.
And by the way, it snowed twice a week. Of course, this precious snow was not "nailed", it was not wasted, and it was simply blown off the slopes🤷♀️
The lower slopes are with a piece of land and a grass, and you can't hit the upper slopes either, because the wind penetrates the lifts through a helmet and 2 balaclavas so that the brain freezes. And at the same time, wind screens are not provided on the lifts. We reached the third station only once, when the weather was clear and windless. And there, too, they found icy tracks without snow with peeping grass.
Photo
It should be borne in mind that this training base for the Olympic team was created in the USSR. But everything is maintained in a normal state. The prices are pleasantly surprising. There is a festive atmosphere all around.
A fantastic place! Complete delight!
The weather is comfortable. Prepared tracks of different levels are processed every night. Early in the morning, it's nice to ride on a fresh corduroy.
There are many hotels and restaurants (the food is very tasty and affordable).
In your free time, you can visit Lake Sevan and other interesting places by taxi.
Almost everyone speaks Russian.

Good slopes, wide, prepared, there is off-piste skiing for those who like to drive around the puffy, chairlifts go for a long time and are fairly used when the wind is on the mountain, it's a real test, in general, the resort is comfortable, there is a place to have a snack, there is a rental of equipment, a taxi. There is a choice of trails. A very comfortable gara for beginners, there are no bumps and very steep red/black trails. The central long track is ideal for training)
